The baby has been found, from CNN;

A baby found in Kansas is believed to be the daughter of a murdered woman whose fetus was taken from her body, law enforcement said Friday. Sheriff Ben Espey said: "The child is probably going to be okay." Doctors examining the body of the mother, who was killed in Missouri Thursday, prompted an Amber Alert when they decided the fetus had likely survived to be born one month premature.

Hey JGRMF,

there are other ways to stop from having a child than abortion....like KEEPING YOUR FARKING LEGS SHUT?

parablesally: i wish i could send support to the husband/father...

No doubt there will be numerous support funds created for this kid. If you try hard enough I'm sure you'll be able to find one by tomorrow.

/not that that's a bad thing

If someone had killed a pregnant woman, but not taken out the fetus and instead left it in utero (where, presumably, it couldn't survive long), would that be more or less sick than killing the mother and taking the child?

Less stomach churning, more pointlessly evil.

/glad the baby is ok

I blame that video game, Grand Theft Fetus

I work at a tv station in KC and we're already getting e-mails about people wanting to donate clothing and food to the victim's husband, and of course the baby. If you'd like to donate something, check the websites of local media.

Is the world becoming a sicker, more perverted place, or is it just me.

This same thing happened last December to a woman in Tulsa, OK. That woman was only 6-months pregnant when the fetus was stolen. The baby didn't live though.

Ah, I just KNEW that this would turn into an abortion discussion...

To those who oppose abortion and think that women who have them are "sluts," if you're male, I certainly hope that you are celibate, otherwise you're ALSO a slut who is contributing to the problem. And you'd better not masturbate either, because THOUSANDS of sperm ("half-babies," for the fetally-obsessed) are "murdered" every time you do the dirty deed.

If you're female and think that other women should be forced to have children against their will, then you should put your money where your mouth is and provide some financial support for these unwanted kids. I'm sure you'll agree to pay a special tax of, say, approximately $10,000 a year to help care for an unwanted child. Tell you what, we'll call it the "Post Pre-Born Former Fetus Tax" so you'll be more inclined to go along with it.

This happened because there is a shortage of adoptable infants in this country. There is, however, NO shortage of adoptable children, toddler-age and up. Too bad no one wants THOSE kids.

Hey, I was just having some fun. This really wasn't my intent. I cannot afford the consequences of my actions. They will interfere with my job and besides, I really can't afford it right now.

Furthermore, the person wasn't really going to contribute to society. In fact, it was mentally retarded and somewhat crippled and we as a society would have to continue to pay for him just to survive with government hand-outs and stuff. Nobody will miss him.

In light of all of this, I feel I should not be found guilty for getting drunk and then slamming my car into a homeless skid row bum.

Food for thought. Flame on.

SaintJames394:
The pattern I see is, if the mother WANTS the child, it's a "baby," and if she doesn't, it's a "fetus."

...whatever helps you sleep at night.

Oh, and in most polite circles, it's common courtesy to refer to a group of people by the name they assign themselves. In this case, your choice to label those who oppose abortion as "Anti-Choice" instead of their own label of "Pro-Life" is blatantly disrespectful of their viewpoint. You don't see them calling those who support abortion as "Anti-Life," do you?

"Any form of killing is bad."

Hmmm...

You realize, every time you wash your hands, you kill thousands of cells...

Murdering bastard...

And "pro-life" is a term I refuse to use because it is one of the more moronic names action groups have ever given themselves. Their argument is inherent in their name. It's like logging companies lobbying congress to be allowed to clearcut old growth forest under the name "Americans for the Environment" or something. It's disingenuous. They're NOT "pro" life, everyone on both sides of the argument is "pro" life, they're taking an active stance AGAINST the abortion procedure, so they are indeed ANTI-abortion.

Incontinent_dog_and_monkey_rodeo:

Okay, Anti-abortion is still at least a clear indication of the group's aims. To label them "Anti-choice" is painting a picture that is not accurate to the beliefs of the group. Also, it's inflammatory and borderline libelous. Just my $0.02

The attorney will be on tv at 6pm (CST) in case any of you are still interested in the crime, as opposed to the flame war.

Just curious, how many of you claiming to be "pro-life" have adopted any unwanted children into your home and lives?

You are right, and in a perfect world, abortion could be banned. But people make idiotic decisions on a regular basis, 14 year olds get pregnant, and I am not going to say "you have to give birth to that child" to anyone, though I do think abortion is wrong to a certain degree.

if one grants that:
1) a state has the duty to protect all of its citizens and that
2) the rights of one end when they infringe upon another's

then all we need to do is figure out if/when that lump of cells becomes "viable". make sense? is something still in a woman's womb ever a citizen of the state? and if so, should it not be protected? you can grant a woman's right to choose, but at some point that choice can have negative externalities upon many other citizens.

but hey, name calling and stereotyping is so much more productive.

I just skimmed this thread, but I am shocked SHOCKED that none, not one of you, no one BUT NO ONE, made a reference to the original Beastmaster, in which fetal Dar is ripped from his mother, the queen's, womb, transferred into the belly of a cow, cut from the cow, branded and then about to be sacrified by one of the witch-priestesses of Zed as he is rescued.

I'm extremely disappointed.

Ladies, hide your fetuses! Don't gain any weight while you're pregging it up. Because, this Christmas, the sharks are hunting in pairs and women who have miscarried covet your unborn brat.

"Being of the male pursuasion, and not a father, I find it hard to believe that giving your baby up for adoption can be that much harder of choice than abortion.

Easy for you to say, and IMO, no it's not easier. So stfu.

Yes, pregnancy is a pain in the ass, but that's a consequence of unprotected sex. And it's only 9 months people. It's not like a terminal disease."

Yeah, easy for you to say. Unless you are a bullet proof stick it changes your mind & body forever.

But go ahead, Democrats. Keep discarding your future Democrat fetuses, and we'll just keep getting more presidents with the last name of Bush.

Have you ever noticed how the truly super intelligent wait forever if EVER to have children? And then it's only like one or two max?
Stupid people breed like rats.

IMO, abortion is a form of evolution. If the male is in any way inferior or his mate is stressed out due to circumstance in this day and age, because ducks do need to be in a row for parenthood....it makes perfect sense to me that parenthood be put off until it is feasible.
None of this worrying your progeny is going to be raised by backward hillbilly mongrels or beaten to death(see: Hedda Nausbaum story).

And there isn't a shortage of kids waiting to be adopted, they just don't "fit the mold" the "wonderful" people who are seeking to adopt want.
