I was going to post something directed to chains, but then I realized he/she is just a troll. People like chains don't deserve my (or any other sane farker's) opinion, it just encourages them, and it's just like talking to a wall anyway. Ignore chains and maybe he/she will go away.

Seriously, no bait whatsoever to chains or ppl like chains.

I'm curious what will happen if everyone ignores the troll. Will the troll freak out and start posting repeatedly with no answer and then go away, or will the troll just go away. The former would be amusing, and the latter would be relief.

i'm anti abortion, with all the forms of birth controll, really why do we need it. I find it disturbing that some one would discard a human like trash becuase they don't feel like raising it or putting it up for adoption, pure selfishness. I cant but help to think about all the great humans that have been destroyed.how many future einstiens, ben franlkins and mozarts have perished in abortion clinics. also why does a mother have more rights then the fetus they are both humans with different dna. I belive we are all equall and one does not have a right to infringe on anothers basic right. to have a chance at life is a basic human right

rape and physical health reasons i can tolerate, but other wise it seems to be just not wainting to take responsiblty.father not around, pick a mate better. cant afford it ,give it up for adoption.
I am a male and if a child of mine was aborted i don't think
i could keep on living

Wasn't it George Carlin that pointed out how you never see a hot chick opposed to abortion? You get the feeling that all the anti-abortion dudes on here are all either really ugly dorks that can't get any and are pizzed at folks that do or are religious whackos stuck in a pointless marriage. And of course, the antiabortion chicks on here--you just know they're the kinds you'd never want to knock up in a million years.

So all you antiabortion numbnuts, listen up: The rest of us like sex. It's fun. We're not worried about a big Sky Daddy smacking us down for enjoying a little rumpy-pumpy. Just because you're not getting any, don't deny us a way of coping with the consequences of farking. Now go away and worship Jebus and quit worrying about fetuses.

All I know is that it's not surprising that the catholic church is against abortions and birth control - altar boys can't get pregnant.

2004-12-17 11:52:19 AM
Phat, there's a lot of forms of birth control, and sometimes they fail. And you might look at it in terms of Einsteins and and Franklins. I look at it as eliminating future Hitlers and Mansons and Streisands.

Like the bumper sticker says: "Abortion stops a beating."

Aptly named jarhead: so what, the only reason to have sex is to have kids? In case you hadn't noticed, you moronic wanker, sex is a lot of fun. You should try it some time. Put down the Bible and the crucifix and go get some stanky on your hanglow. You'll be less uptight and people might actually like you for a change.

God, chains, this is my last response to you, because you're obviously not even reading my posts- for the last time, I did not say that MOST women get abortions due to medical reasons- read the damn posts!!

And I don't have time to look up and post stats right now, as I'm at work, unlike you, I READ most of the public health research before I made up my mind. I suggest you do the same, from sources that are not biased towards anti-choice. If you care to stick around until tonight, maybe I'll find time.

"as such, it's not afforded the same rights as an adult human

Yeah, but be rational, it's not just a step function. The development is gradual from conception to adulthood, so it makes it hard to define cleanly.

But, two things can be said. One is that immediately after fertilization the zygote is NOT intelligent in any meaningful way. If you think killing that is murder, and you dont base this on religious reasons, you're insane. If you do base it on religious notions of a soul, you have no business telling other people to do the same.

The other extreme is that if you think aborting a 9 month pregnancy is any different from killing a newborn, you're also insane.

Yet one of these two positions seems to be held by most people. I think some of it has to do with being afraid to give a little since they fear the other side gaining ground and trying to take more, and some of it has to do with people in generaly being rather retarded.

Anti-Choicers will always use the baby term for a fetus.
Pro-Choicers will always use the fetus term for a fetus.

Pro-Choicers will always use the term Anti-Choicers for those who oppose abortion.
Pro-Lifers will always use the term Pro-lifers for those who oppose abortion.

Everyone manipulates the language for their own purposes.

not sure if you're still around but the reason they won't answer you with any stats to try to tell you that most abortions are done for medical reasons, is because they know they'd be lying and most likely get caught.

here are reasons for abortion:
-25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing.
-21.3% of women cannot afford a baby.
-14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child.
-12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy.)
-10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career.
-7.9% of women want no (more) children.
-3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health.
-2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health.

http://womensissues.about.com/cs/abortionstats/a/aaabortionstats.htm

You'll notice that barely over 6% are done for medical reasons... and really not even... they are categorized as "risk to.." which doesn't mean immediate or impending danger.

Anyway, there ya go.

Yeah, I'm always pretty suspicious of people taking a complex issue like this and painting it to be black and white. It's pretty simply done - they just ignore all facts on the other side of the issue.

Yet, this is what politicians do all the time - take difficult subjective issues and claim a "right" answer. I guess they have to do it, but it doesn't make them any less full of shiat.

No, but I'm guessing that as a child, he was referred to as a buttmuncher more than once. It's likely that this taunting haunted him into adult life, and as a result I wouldn't trust his work to be unbiased.

jarhead-

I'm not "afraid" of getting pregnant, if I do, I will make the decision when that happens. And unlike chains seems to think, I won't rush to the nearest clinic before thinking about my option. I simply use 2 forms because I believe in being responsible, and trying to prevent the need for that decision, while still enjoying my relationship.
