I'd like to use a hammer and chisel to remove a chunk of the Washington Monument. It's okay because I paid my taxes, right?

Damn, this new "Dumbass" tag sure is working out fine. On another note, if he is building a fort then Im all for it. I dont know but something about forts, and shoving people off ladders just makes me giddy.

I stole some sandbags from a construction site a few blocks from my house... I needed the sand to fill the base of my basketball hoop.

2002-03-01 12:36:01 PM

Stealing rocks? Is that like stealing dirt from the side of the road, or sticks? What the hell?

Good use of the Dumbass tag, though. Working marvelously.

Actually, this guy was not only stupid, but cheap, too. It is likely that he stole "crushed granite" - not boulders or stones (those would be DAMN hard to steal) - since they were being used in a sewer line install - they are placed in the bottom of the ditch to level the line out, and keep it in one spot (so there aren't any "low" spots, etc) when they backfill (how do I know this? - brother-in-law works construction). Anyhow, crushed granite is pretty cheap - about $50.00 a ton, IIRC - for what you would want around your house (yard use, plant beds, etc). And that would be the price from a distributor, not a quarry (not that you can just drive a pickup to the quarry - most quarries don't allow that due to the machinery, hazards, and large scales of things). Quarries tend to charge much less, but you must buy in "large" quantities (several ton loads).

2002-03-01 12:53:11 PM
Why not? It doesn't sound like he's the type to have indoor plumbing, so what's he need the sewer for.

"Boy, you sure do have purdy rocks."

alterian: only nerds with guitars.

which tax option allows rock larceny?

2002-03-01 01:04:27 PM
Stealing rocks ? Must've been for in his head !

2002-03-01 01:14:30 PM
Hey, I've done it. Anyone who has a garden or a yard and wants some rocks as naturalizing element realizes that they arent cheap. So sue me. (I watch a lot of HGTV.)

Was he sticking them rocks in his crack pipe?

2002-03-01 01:26:59 PM
But could he smell what the rock is cooking?

2002-03-01 01:30:27 PM
Was he inbred and thick-browed?

2002-03-01 01:38:42 PM
I want a prosthetic forehead on my real head.

2002-03-01 02:01:10 PM
Does he enjoy meatloaf and taters for dinner?

2002-03-01 02:09:23 PM
But if you do have a huge oversized boulder, you can easily make a bong out of it!

2002-03-01 02:28:57 PM
Has there always been a dumbass banner or is it new?

2002-03-01 03:39:48 PM
K-tree: Fairly new. Past couple of weeks, I believe.

2002-03-01 07:55:59 PM
Half a ton of rock would be about three heaping wheelbarrows full.

The cops need to get a job.
