Isn't this obvious? How else would they get any positive reviews for their food. On a similar note, has anyone noticed the X-box commerical for the game "Wrecked"? They go on and on with all these wonderful quotes, all from THE OFFICIAL X-BOX MAGAZINE!!! I mean come on.

Why aren't they in trouble for selling products they dare to call 'food'?

Is it true that Taco Bell uses meat that can't be sold in grocery stores to make its products?

What is Carne assada steak? I know its likely misspelled. They are using the term in the commercials.

What a bunch of retards. OF COURSE there's not a 'Steak Enthusiast' magazine. Jesus. I knew right away when I saw that ad that the whole thing was a joke. The ad parodied car ads and the magazine quote was part of that. Idiots.

Taco Bell gives me the squirts.

That's great, Joe Don.

FOR SALE: Steak quesadilla. Is not a triumph of culinary engineering. No central pivoting load balance design at all. Simply sits on table. Ads were very misleading. It cannot even hold the weight of a book if rolled up and placed on one end. Will consider trade for an egg. Now THAT'S a triumph of engineering. Call Dr. Stephen Hawking. 456.982.9823

Not this one, the "Best Buy rage" thread.

Taco Bell affects your ass as a painful exit, not an entry.

Man, what terrifying imagery

Is there a rule book for "ethical standards in advertising". Better yet, is there a rule book for what can be said on Fark? This morning I noticed a moderator with a god complex deleted half of yesterday...

someone please explain.

Carne Asada = roasted meat

Well THAT'S a redundant name...

2002-03-01 12:43:37 PM
Wait did people actually believe there was a magazine called steak enthusiast? And that if there was, they would review, of all things, taco bell food? Give me a farking break...

2002-03-01 12:44:18 PM
I think the rough translation for Carne Asada is "meat of the rat" or something like that...

Flignir: Steak Enthusiest Magazine? That doesn't sound like a joke to anyone else?

Not considering I went to a pie festival a few weeks back, that was sponsored by the American Pie Council. There are alot of wacky organizations and publications out there.

From the "If PR Drones Had Balls" department...

In the upcoming issue of "TV Guide," Taco Bell executives say there was no deceit intended, and that anyone who honestly thinks there's a magazine called "Steak Enthusiast" that reviews fast food, is a moron and deserves to be fooled.

2002-03-01 12:49:32 PM
not .

2002-03-01 12:50:58 PM
Thats not steak, its Binky!

2002-03-01 12:51:15 PM
The real question here is, who the fark at TV Guide decided to play Investigative Reporter this week? What, that piece on Celebrity's Favorite TV Snack Foods just wasn't hard-hitting enough? Jesus Christ TV Guide, shut the hell up and go back to being the Hollywood whores that you are.

2002-03-01 12:52:27 PM
Exactly how dense does one have to be to think a "Steak Enthusiast" is real?

People are losing touch with their satire appreciation/recognition lobes.

No animals were harmed in the making of this post.

No ingrediants.

Please maintain a safe distance from the monitor.

Do not bang your head repeatedly on the desk due to the stupidity of the vast majority of the world.

If TV Guide thinks for one second a couch potato will based their junk food buying on some food magazine, they need to a) rethink their priorities, b) get a sense of humor. Christ, one of the sucky things about TV Guide is all those stupid Franklin Mint ads they have in 'em . BUY YOUR FRANKLIN MINT CHEWBACCA COIN NOW ! Also those weight losing - inducing magnet ads cheese me off as well.

Damn I need a Taco Grande right about now....

Can anyone say grade "D" meat, the owners of Taco Bell say it all the time (when they are ordering meat products for their stores.

When Mexico runs out of skinny, diseased dogs, Taco Bell will shut its doors and sell no more burritos.

2002-03-01 01:14:19 PM
No, they meant "Tube Steak Enthusiast" magazine! Damned typo!

Yeah. TV Guide has a long history of journalistic integrity that they must protect. Jeebus...

People who eat at taco bell should just throw the food directly in the toliet and skip the middleman. Come on you eating fude(correct spelling) that comes out of a calk gun and its not operated by your local 409. Brought to you by the Society for the Preservation of Clean Underwear.
