An incendiary device is basically Napalm, but I think they didn't want to pay Dow for the trademark.

There are also concerns that Saddam and his 11 top lieutenants, all held at a detention facility on the outskirts of Baghdad for the past year, have not had access to lawyers

This has been on my mind for a while...the AP and Reuters stories always print these guys full names, followed by "better known as 'Chemical Ali'" or one of their other catchy nicknames. Who knows them by these catchy nicknames? Does Chemical Ali introduce himself as such, or do the Iraqi's call him Chemical Ali, or is it something our government made up, or the media, or...

Not flaming, just curious. I never heard anyone referred to by these nicknames before the war (although I suppose they weren't in the media much before the war).

Does the Iraqi media say "we're being bombed by George, John and Tony again today"?

So he will be tried under what law? Iraqi law? It must be, if the "crimes" were commited in that country.

So, is it pre or post-invasion laws? Laws aren't retroactive so that invalidates the trials under new post-invasion laws and pre-invasion laws didn't touch this subject.

So, what gives? What laws did he break? He may be a bastard but please don't manipulate the situation for politicics alone.

/bastards. all of them.

bbcrackmonkey: I would also like to point out that the most authoritative website for an accurate kill count,

They don't pretend to count every dead Iraqi. The count every documented death. They are very, very clear on their website that they significantly underreport the total number of deaths.

We've already killed far, far, far more men, women, and children than the total killed by Saddam since the end of the civil wars after the first gulf war. Work on justifying the truth, not denying. it.

Flipper the Dolphin: Iraq Body Count blames the US for any deaths caused by the terrorists we are trying to stop in the first place.

No, Iraq Body Count counts the number of documented iraqi bodies. You're putting the spin on that, not them.

bbcrackmonkey: Hahaha! I went to and I checked just the very first page of their 'database' and added up all the people who were either insurgents or were not killed by US forces...

Stop the presses! You're telling me that a website called umm... counts the iraqi bodies? Get out of here. You're kidding?

Wow. Anyhow, here is what says:
In the current occupation phase this database includes all deaths which the Occupying Authority has a binding responsibility to prevent under the Geneva Conventions and Hague Regulations. This includes civilian deaths resulting from the breakdown in law and order, and deaths due to inadequate health care or sanitation.
At any rate, yeah... you're free to come up with your own methedology and statistics, if you don't like theirs.
