If this kid did this again, he's a tool. If he did not, the submitter is a tool. Either way, toolage abounds.

Thank you, Wooten, at least somebody else here knows that those silly geeks would be wiping milk off of their DM screens.

Um . . . I mean . . . so I would guess.

/grabbing my dice and screen and leaving

U sure do play DnD with a bord.

assuiming you are plaing the new 3.5 edition rules and not the ancient stone age 2nd edition or *stifled laughter* 1st edition

2004-11-30 03:06:26 PM
I play 3.5, and i see no board, EdMon. Now if youre playing chainmail, you do indeed use a board.

2004-11-30 03:08:20 PM
I'm referring to the combat board for combat. I use 4 chessboards put together and pewter figurines.

/belives a chessboard is a board

2004-11-30 03:21:23 PM
OK, I'm old, so could someone please explain this to me?

/eh sonny?

2004-11-30 03:23:07 PM
speedy The 1337 thing or the D&D thing?

2004-11-30 04:45:11 PM
EdMon boards/figures are still optional in 3.5, just as they were in 3, 2, and I believe the original AD&D. Personally, I find that they just slow down combat, we haven't used them since the first campaign we used them.

Oh, and a shoutout to that kid. Brilliant.

/almost 40

2004-11-30 06:05:57 PM
leet

2004-11-30 06:22:14 PM
1337 kinda looks like LEET, short for ELITE.

NERDS!!!

He was really good, though.

2004-11-30 08:05:16 PM
D&D boards? *snickers like a dork*

2004-11-30 08:07:20 PM
We always used the number 2337. What it stands for is much cooler.

2004-11-30 08:07:38 PM
This guy *must* be a farker. If he isn't, he will be soon.

2004-11-30 08:07:42 PM
I submitted this two weeks ago. Lame.

2004-11-30 08:07:42 PM
Saw this a few weeks ago. I laughed SO HARD at this, I was so close to vomitting. I don't know what made it so funny, but god, I was close to dying.

2004-11-30 08:08:43 PM
I submitted this two weeks ago as well and my headline was much funnier. It mentioned something about Trebeks mother still being a whore.

2004-11-30 08:09:01 PM
Nerds!

I could smite you all with my +6 sword, but since I have attained +12 gamesmanship, I simply smirk and stealthily exit this thread.

2004-11-30 08:11:45 PM
I DM.... and the group I'm with hates minis and boards, so I only use them in cases where I suspect it'll be important (like the Thanksgiving Eve game in which there were 5 sides to a single battle - and since most of the combatants could fly, I did a second board to indicate height)

In any case, the guy in the story was a moron the first time he did it, and he's still a moron.

2004-11-30 08:14:54 PM
Myrna, it's good to see you - it's been awhile.

/played D&D, 2nd ed, with a roll-up hexagonally gridded map.

2004-11-30 08:16:55 PM
can I just say that nerd is teh fine?!

/hot4nerds

2004-11-30 08:17:16 PM
I didn't know what "1337" meant either until someone explained it to me in reference to my fark account number.

2004-11-30 08:17:20 PM
Fark, it's not news...it's olds

2004-11-30 08:17:43 PM
Does anyone else think that he's dropping a subtle hint that he somehow hacked the Jeopardy question database and is gloating a little bit?

Yeah, yeah...tinfoil hat....

2004-11-30 08:18:08 PM
I'd bet 8008135

2004-11-30 08:19:02 PM
If he wasn't a pussy he would have gone for the full 31337 wager

2004-11-30 08:19:16 PM
Even I know that D&D doesn't use a board, and I play Magic.

/is a different breed of gaming geek
//is picking up his deck and leaving

2004-11-30 08:19:36 PM
wow....when my friend who goes to CMU said it's nerd heaven he wasn't kidding!

2004-11-30 08:20:03 PM
I still am confused. Is leet funny? When is it used?

/Deny ever playing D & D. I avoid the topic because I am afraid my eyes will twitch.

2004-11-30 08:20:22 PM
Is it a bad thing if I snorted when I read that? Yeah? Dammit.

2004-11-30 08:20:33 PM

heh heh.. Hilarious but this is old news...

2004-11-30 08:20:40 PM
Isn't amazing how all the incredibly smart Jeopardy winners give 10 percent to their churches?? Somewhere, George Carlin is laughing.

2004-11-30 08:20:51 PM
I play D&D with a board.

Actually, now that I think about it, we pretty much just use beer and rum.

2004-11-30 08:21:24 PM
6332!

2004-11-30 08:21:49 PM
Wooten:

How do you determine attacks of opportunity without a board? The only way to fully use the ver 3 & 3.5 rules is with a board.
