"Global terror is everywhere."

Much like Madonna's sexual activity...

If she's really that concerned, she should take her red string and lock herself up in her little Kabbalah cult temple to wait it out. Ish.

Well, this is probably NSFW but what do you expect in a Madonna thread? Then again, no nipplage nor bushage on display and it's an artful B&W tone...

/yeah, that's a dog sampling the hootch...

I agree with what most of you fine patriots are saying, seriously.

We MUST 'stay the course' in Iraq, for if we did otherwise that desert state would become a haven of violence not seen since the day Frederick Douglas took charge.

And Madonna, dumb as the biatch may be, can reach a lot of Bush/Kerry '04 supporters with those colligen-infested lips, you have to admit that.

Cha cha,

I've been on fark for a while now mainly lurking and I have to hand it to you for posting the stupidest comment ever...

Ha, that's assuming that the rich work, and if you think that, there's something wrong with you.

I don't even know where to begin after reading that. We live in a capitalistic society and by far the majority of people who are "rich" work extremely hard for their money. What do you think the average number of hours an ER doc puts in every week, how about a professor in the sciences putting in 15 hour days 7 days a week....you mention bill gates, I bet especially earlier in his career he was a total work-aholic, I would even be willing to bet that Jerry Rice a pro-athelete, someone who is supposed to have it easy, works harder than your so-called average "poor" person .

/end rant
//realizing I probably did not adequately defend my position but tired of typing.

Hebalo:

You remind me of a good friend of mine... He has the same perspective on things, and woulda probably said the same thing about the "tard" comment. And don't be silly. You think I would resort to "tard" if I wanted to seriously insult/demean you? Honestly! *rolleyes*

And are you a lawyer perhaps? Because your tendency to dismember information and facts into meaningless jumble is astonishing. For instance, would you prefer fundies in control of Iraq? Hmm? Because Iraqis are rather secular by nature. They are used to secular rule. The majority of them would not want a goverment based on Sharia. And guess what the terrorists want? Exactly. Sharia, public stonings, women in head to heel burkhas, the whole shabang. And that's just talking about the people of Iraq, not about the rather serious geopolitical consoquences of Iraq becoming a "terrorist incubator", so to speak.
And where do get off calling Iraq "a third world country"? The place has more electrification than before the invasion began! The water supply is more regular and widespread! People are starting to build real roads, instead of relying on grunt roads for intercity transport...

I pity you. You sound like a very unhappy person.

The truth is, every wealthy person I know (and I do know a quite a few of them, myself included) has worked very hard to acquire what they have. But whether they have worked hard to acquire their wealth is not the issue.

The issue is what right does anyone have to simply take another's wealth away because they 'deem' someone else or some other cause more worthy?

Having paid over half my income last year in taxes, I'm not really in the mood to vote for candidates who promise to take even more away. (Especially when they themselves paid a mere 12.5%)

"Hang On Voltaire
Ok. I kind of get what you are saying. However, the right wingers seem to be having a field day namechecking, in a negative way, any celebrity that supported kerry or has spoken out against the war...as in how dare they step outside of their little isolated boxes.... Of course their celebrity endorsers do have valid opinions and can circumvent the anti-celebrity bashing."

I do think that some of the anti-Bush celebrities are pretty smart. Bono, Martin Sheen are two. Mike Farrell I was REAL impressed with. I think he actually understood what he was talking about even if he was wrong. But it is when you have Ozzie farking Osbourne calling Bush Hitler or Jennifer "Never went to college" Anniston calling him a farking idiot that grates my nerves.

Yeah, 'cause when I see pics of Madonna like what QQue just posted, I think to myself, "Gosh, I bet Madonna has some fascinating ideas about the handling of the conflict in Iraq." Maybe I'm a little quick to judge, but wtf does she know about a peaceful resolution to this war?

/She reminds me of Rodney King's "Can't we all just, get along?!?"

DaryoonTDP :

By that I mean that they were living in a moderately secular state for decades, and people tend to get used to that, not that they are not fully-fledged religious people like 99% of the middle east.

Hebalo,

"Why would terrorists attack Iraq if the Americans weren't there?"

Hmmm...why did the terrorist Saddam attack Iraqi people when we weren't there?

"Who is to say that things wouldn't settle themselves?"

Nobody can say for sure, but better to be sure about it than to sweep it (them) under the rug. The innocent people don't have the weaponry that the terrorists do, so it's like the Sudan, where the lesser people in the eyes of the powerful will get the shaft.

"Do you assume that the people of Iraq are ignorant, and unable to set up a government?"

They're not ignorant per se, but they've never tried to do it before, and that is a recipe for disaster.

"This wasn't a third world country, though it looks like one these days."

WTF...what kind of country do you think this was prior to 2002, an up-and-comer? It is apparent that you're just saying this to stir people's emotions...which is great because you've been pounded harder than Madonna has ever been in here.

"GW is the representative of joe six pack"

So most joe six pack's stand to inherit billions when daddy dies? And went to Harvard?

What did the US constitution say again? "Government of the Wealthy, by the Wealthy, and for the Wealthy", where democracy can be see as a choice between the interests of two plutocracy's.

Didn't the father of the Free Market, Adam Smith himself, say, 'Laws and governments may be considered in this and indeed in every case, a combination of the rich to oppress the poor, and preserve to themselves the inequality of the goods, which would otherwise be soon destroyed by the attacks of the poor, who if not hindered by the government would soon reduce the others to an equality with themselves by open violence'

Of course the US solution is the same as the lottery's - even though almost everyone that plays will lose out by taking part, advertise a few big winners and you will always have new customers, even if the lottery is walking away with millions with no risk. If most of the people in the US can be persuaded they might well be rich in the future, it helps deflect complaints about how much of the wealth is concentrated in so few people. After all the top 1% of the US population has been accumulating their way towards having half of the wealth between them, where the poorest half are sinking below 1% of the wealth.

DaryoonTDP - stop being a moron. You dont think there are people that LISTEN to celebrities? The farking BBC is interviewing her for Allah's Sakes.

Whoah Nelly! Take it down a notch. I never said people don't listen to celebrities. Unfortunately they do. And some celebrities actually do know what they are talking about. However, I think celebrities like Madonna just like to hear themselves speak. And yes, some people (morans) will let Madonna influence how they feel about bringing peace to Iraq.

/sigh...

steeljay, Ward's_Back:

I probably shouldn't have put that first sentence, but what i meant by it was should have been elucidated by the rest of my post, it sounds awful out of context. I am a very happy person actually, happiest i've ever met. Stelljay, An ER doctor is one of the few who actually earns his wealth and a science professor is not extremely wealthy. And I also know some wealthy people who work themselves extremely hard, several hours per day. But unfortunately that's not the case for extremely large swaths of the wealthy across the world. None of them have two jobs, both of which they hate, just to earn a measly 7 bucks per hour to feed the kids. The wealthy enjoy their jobs, they have a choice of which job to take...most of the poor don't have the luxury of choice, they have to take what they can get, which is often a dirty, dangerous job that pays extremely poorly and give no benefits. And if you made your money in stocks, you didnt work, you gambled, its different. And Ward's back, my suggestion is not that you take another's wealth away simply because you deem them a better cause, it's because it is unjustifiable for some to not have the choice of which job to take. Wage slavery in effect cannot be justified, and if that means that some people should be deprived of another luxury car then fine. Everybody has a fundamental right to education and life, you shouldn't have to take the first job that comes along and that you hate simeply because it's what you have to do to get by.

Of course, one would have to be cynical and bitter to spin them in a negative light. So please, do yo' thang.

Funny; MY copy of the Constitution must have been redacted; I can't find a 'Right to Education' listed in mine.

Just as the situation must be resolved, the evil bastards who thrust it upon the Iraqis, the American people, and the world, should be punished.

K, secret service types?

Speaking as a fairly liberal guy...

I feel that we never should've gone to Iraq.

That being said...

Now that we're in Iraq, we have a duty to see the job through. To withdraw right now would be the worst option to take, for our image to the rest of the world, and for the people of Iraq who would be left with very little in the ways of government infrastructure.

I wouldn't say those are negative things at all. However, I would say they are highly unrealistic. Humans are animals, and being animals, we are extremely competitive with eachother. The only reason we "get along" is to protect what is ours and to try to take what isn't ours.

/And honestly, I couldn't give a fark what God would approve of.
