Lets see, I missed 19 Xmases at home between 12/16/164 and 02/10/1991 because I was deployed or otherwise engaged on my country's business. I spent my 20th and my 21st birthday in a very strange and violent place. My Mother was told I was KIA a couple of months before my 22 birthday. I am COPD because of exposure to toxic smoke caused by a bilge fire. I missed a majority of my three childrens birthdays. I would not and did not vote for GW Bush. I believe that both the current Attorny General and SecDef belong in jail. I think that the war in Iraq is both illegal and imoral. One of my brothers died as a result of combat induced PTSD. My oldest son was medically retired from the US military as 70% disabled.

Yet this news story brought a tear to my eye because I can hold more than one thought in my mind at a time. Something along the lines of this war evil our troops, for the most part, good.

It was a thought process simular to pmegan's that got me spit upon in San Francisco for the crime of wearing my blues in the spring of 1969.

But hey pmegan you have the right to you opinion, just don't get to thinking that others are "Bad" because they don't agree with you.

Is all of the anger because you think that this makes the war (excuse me, the continued presence of troops...or whatever you want to call it) look like a good thing? Because I really don't see that at all. To me what this punches home is the fact that there are a lot of Americans separated from their spouses and families who really shouldn't be, and this needs to end. So it's both sad and sweet at the same time.

I think it was very kind and sweet of him. I warned my husband that I didn't want a surprise for his R & R. It worked our great for us and was 2 of the most precious weeks I have ever had.

This pales in comparison, but it reminded me of "once upon a time in high school".

Back to the issue: that was a nice thing a soldier did for his wife, and yes, he's going to be seeing tome poontang in the near future of his arrival. Doing something sweet for your girl, like a rose at some random interval of the week, delivered to her office is even better, and will ensure poontang, and a mildly pleasing bj that night, providing she knows how to. One of my ex's received multi-colored roses(one at a time, though) each week, and she showed her appreciation of what I did. Easy concept: guy wants some poontang, does something sweet for his girl, gets said poontang.

On a side note, a guy I play poker with off and on had a son come home from Iraq. That night the kids went out to a movie or two with grandma, and grandpa(the guy I play poker with) was shoved out the door. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what his son and daughter-in-law were doing all night, having been separated for 14 months. Long post, off to work.
