Let me get this straight.... a Mexican will have a easier time migrating to US than a American to Canada? Wha?

We need to extend a roadway for Mexicans to by-pass the US and head stright to Canada. I'll be the first to donate to that cause. It helps everyone out!!

Is it so hard to believe Bush when he said there would never be a draft?

54% tax? I find that highly disturbing. How in the heck does anyone take anything home? hell with healthcare...my dog wants me to buy him steak out of my meager 23% bracket. Anytime you have to pay 40%+ means you should start looking for another government. Good grief, man.

/but I checked the profile and have to agree on the saki bombs. BANZAI!

Canada's too liberal for my liking.

On the other hand, all I can look forward to here is further shredding of Constitutional rights.

Hey--how's Australia?

Just remember America- You made your choice, now you have to live with it for 4 years.
I didn't choose Bush, and I don't have to sit back and enjoy the next 4 years. I don't have to sit back as my country commits atrocities against itself and others... Something needs to happen to wake up others in this country, but in no way did America choose Bush.

Ah, to see the starry eyed democrats flee to a state they perceive to full of their people, man that would make a great reality TV show.
Coming to FOX , the new hit show that follows the day to day life of U.S. liberals who in a fit of pique, leave all their possessions in their parents basement and jump the border into Canada to dwell with people who think just like them.maybe not, tune into
So YOU think youre a Liberal, come on and contribute to the Canadian State my whiney American Biatch. 7:00 PM Eastern, Thursdays.

cry0fan,

being from Canada and now living in the US I know for a fact that the health care system is better in the US. In the US there is a system of personal responsibility to stay healthy and to not visit the hospital whenever you get the sniffles because of a "Free" health care system. It's high taxes that drove me from living in Canada, and moving to the US. I work extremely hard for my money, and have sacrificed a lot to get where I am, and I don't want some able working welfare, or crack addicted believing they are entitled to my money. I love the US and hope to give up my Canadian citizen ship. I will gladly trade my citizenship with any of you tree hugging liberals whom want to move to Canada.

/go Bush.
/Giuliani 08.

Yeah, nice article...except for all the factual errors.
Typical shoddy CNN reportage.

2004-11-03 04:23:22 PM cry0fan

I have looked into moving to Canada for haelthcare. My mother was born there, which gives me automatic citizenship. Also I can move to Ireland as an automatic citizen (my grandmother was born in Belfast). The UK would also take me, but it takes 5 years for citizenship.

As a Canadian, let me say...We don't want you here! We don't care who in your family was born here, they left and thats all that matters. Why should we Canadians, whom btw have paid taxes all our lives, support your lazy drainage arse? Please stay there and fix your own problems and free us from your burden. Canada is changing for the better fiscally and economically, thus we don't need additional crutches just because they are all pissy politically south of the border.
GO BUSH/HARPER!

2004-11-03 04:42:38 PM
No liberals are going to be moving to Canada.

Because no liberal is going to do a damn thing after a few days.

Liberals do nothing. Because they expect everything to be done FOR them. And while I'd love to come over to your parents basement, pack up your futon bed, your collection of ironic t-shirts, and your black and white TV, I have to go to work. Help stimulate the economy, and keep filling the government coffers so you can collect keep collecting your unemployment check.

So please, all you pathetic losers who repeatedly threaten to move to Canada, shut the hell up. You're not gonna do it. You're pansies. It's cold up there. And you'll have to get jobs.

Please, for the love of god, shut up. You're embarassing.

Nyloc - Well, whatever happens to the US (be it a nuke or biological attack) we deserve. Stupidity is it's own reward

Nice attitude, farktard. Let's see your family suffer losses from a terrorist attack and then tell them that they deserved it. Go soak your head, moran.

2004-11-03 04:43:14 PM
Why would you go to Canada? This is a war of ideology, so don't be a draft-dodger, get in there and fight. Screw the presidency. The DNC's focus should be 100% on winning back Congress, and taking the party out of the hands of the shiatheads who run it (re: Clintonistas and Terry McWhatshisname)

And you arrogant republicans who've thrown your lot in with the evangelicals; don't come biatching to us when they start banning video games, porno and Jerry Bruckheimer films. They're the seedy underbelly of your party and you can't win without them (and vice versa). Thanks to you and your boo-ya frat-guy asshole posturing, we're stuck with the Jesus Jumpers running the show.

Wash my feet, morans. I'd gladly give my money to a fat lady with five kids who works shiat wages at Walmart. Better that than to a fat general who kills little brown kids.

2004-11-03 04:43:20 PM
I don't think Democrats are looking to leave because Kerry lost, but rather they believe that since Bush won, the US (citizenry? government?) will continue to make poor policy decisions, based on the Bush Doctrine, rather than reality. Thus, better to eject before the plane goes down in flames.

At least that's my perception of the suggestions regarding migration to Canada...

2004-11-03 04:43:34 PM
Uh, did anyone actually plan on moving abroad if Bush won? I may not agree with Bush on many things, but he's not *that* bad.

Here's my take on this. Yeah, I'm a little pissed off about the election. I didn't want four more years of Bush. But he won. So be it. Back to life, back to reality. Hell, if you think about it, the Left is just getting a taste of the crow that the Right had to eat during eight years of Clinton. What goes around comes around, y'know?

Everybody should just calm the fark down and be thankful that we live in a country that routinely chooses its leaders peacefully, and the results are met with cynical Monday-morning-quarterbacking instead of rioting. Most of us have food to eat, clothes to wear, and we're still free to go to Fark and vent our spleens without fearing that the Dear Leader's thugs will drag us out of our homes tonight.

Nothing against Canadians, mind, but I'm still quite fond of our neurotic, self-absorbed country. Think I'll stay a while.

hooooo ho ho ho ho

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Whoooooooooooooooooo

This was a hoot. I can't beleive how ASININE this day has become, but a story like this on a reputable news source just makes it that much more...

RIDICULOUS.

Congratulations, radical liberals (notice I didn't say ALL LIBERALS, ALL DEMOCRATS, or the ever popular LIBTARDS), you have just made the most ridiculous item of the day. I'm going to be chuckling for about the next hour.

Then I will be sad, when I realize that there are actually people completely insane, cowardly, and flat out stupid enough to REALLY attempt to do this.

Whaaaa? Is there some other measure beyond electoral and popular vote that I'm not aware of?

2004-11-03 04:44:29 PM
I'll drive the bus to get the Democrats out of here.

If half of the country moved to Canada what would happen?

More jobs to choose from, employment rate reaches all time high, everyone employed.

Jobs being outsourced to foreign countries a good thing, because we need workers now. That or we could import workers to work at Arby's and Walmart while we "native Americans" take the high paying sit on your arse jobs.

Less people on the East and West coast = less smog, pollution, environmental concerns no longer a problem

Less people buying gas, less dependence on oil, all good things

Less people for terrorists to target

Terroritst target Canada

Schools no longer over crowded.

Sporting events ticket prices go down, less people to fill seats, and atheletes are paid less.

People remaining buy real estate at drop dead prices.

Wow, this actually sounds like a good thing.

/was just trying to make a joke, thinks he'll add deportation of registered Democrats to Canada to the 2008 ballot.

2004-11-03 04:44:33 PM
you a-holes screwed up you own country & made the majority of the world hate/dislike you and then want to move up here because you elected the leader of the tard club as the president of your country. Fat chance dumbass, don't worry when he brings in the draft I will be the jerk pointing and laughing at you. Stay outta canada, you might make us mad, and then we'll have to write letters to parliment.
/you've relected bush, the terrorist have already won

Feeling disgruntled? C'mon up to Eskimo Art's Eskimo art and real estate emporium. That's right, we've got thousands of lots ready and waiting for you in our 'true North strong and free' Baffin Island development. Who needs republican neighbours when you can live next door to seals?

How do you get to Eskimo Art's Eskimo art emporium? Just canoe 2 days up the mighty Red river and through Lake Manitoba. Then portage up to the Nelson, point your canoe to the 'beer star' for 2 days and you're here! Ample parking available!

Chimpy McFlightsuit - ...but in no way did America choose Bush.

Um, in case you missed it, America did choose Bush yesterday. It's a thing called an "election". You should look it up.

2004-11-03 04:46:20 PM
HAHA. Seems it's harder to get into Canada than that fascist USA you need to run from.

2004-11-03 04:46:22 PM
Really, I don't think any of you would like it up here.

Most of what you've heard about Canada is all lies.

We're actually packed in here like caged rats. Everywhere I go, I'm stepping on someone's heels, or crawling over the dead bodies that are starting to pile up around all the closed hospitals.
And the scenery you've seen in photos is actually just painted on big curtains that they throw over the giant landfills that pollute our air and give our children nasty birth defects.
Speaking of children, we can only afford to school our children for two hours a day. Not many people even know about our terrible national shame, but the rest of their time is actually spent making maple syrup and hockey pucks in awful sweat shops.
I must admit, the beer here is tasty, but it's full of mind-control chemicals that our crazy cocialist government puts in there.
And the food? Well, the food is horrible. Even in the finest restaurants, the best entree you can find is usually roadkill hidden under putrid mounds of gravy and cheese curds. The government gives us our breakfast every day, a strange green paste that I still think is made out of people.
Once a month though, we get our bacon allotment, which is pretty sweet. Of course, it's not real bacon - all of our real bacon is shipped to the U.S. and called "Canadian bacon." What we know as bacon is actually sliced from the haunches of beavers. But we like it fine - it just takes some getting used to.
Our women are unnatractive and frigid. Shania Twain is actually a cyborg created by Canadian scientists and exported to the U.S., in the hopes that you would send us some of your human women for breeding purposes in exchange. The program hasn't worked very well so far, as you'll see for yourselves as soon as you feast your eyes on our latest Miss Canada winner, what with her lazy eye and missing teeth.
The only TV channel we get up here usually only plays hockey, but we don't even have that right now, so it's mostly all curling tournaments and stuff in French about the Queen.

Seriously, you should probably think about some other country, some place much prettier than this dump, where heating fuel for your igloo isn't so darned expensive, and dog teams cost less than a hundred caribou pelts.

Canada's not for you.

2004-11-03 04:47:06 PM
To those who wish to leave for Canada:

BYE! git your patchouli stink ass outta heeeea

The whole lot of ya BYE!

More votes for Republicans in the future.

in no way did America choose Bush

uhm...actually yes, we did. The electoral college did, and the popular vote did. if you claim we didn't, you just invalidated your stupid Gore soapbox and yes, you do have to live with it. Righties lived with eight years of military-weakening and welfare-strengthening, so you can put up with another four years of pissing on the countries that don't play nice and terrorist eradication. Maybe in four years you can be returned to your regularly scheduled liberal shiat. Until then, pay your lower-than-Canadian taxes and protest what you want. It's a free farking country.

I'd prefer the Canadians all move here. Specifically, to Ohio and Florida and places like that.

2004-11-03 04:49:43 PM
I went through their online qualifier. I meet the requirements to be considered a skilled worker immigrant. I live less than three hours away from Toronto. Je suis presque l'aise en franais. (I am nearly fluent in french.) I have at least several canadian friends who would vouch for me.

I am seriously considering this, and not just based on this one election. This has been a very frightening last five years, and I'm not convinced us enlightened moderates can swing the tide away from the stupidity of selfish voters who vote solely based on their bible, their checkbook, or their shotgun. I can say, "let's start thinking about the big picture," the problem is, the people that need to start thinking have already been taught they don't need to think.

So what choice is left?

KungFuJunkie

Canada, which has an ailing health care system and relatively high levels of personal taxation.

WRT the taxes... they pay for the health care system, and many other services that are private in the US. The difference in terms of "money I can't spend on beer" is much smaller than the difference in tax levels.

WRT the health care system, it's not that much worse than the US, at least for day to day stuff. Waits for surgery are higher, drugs are cheaper. Having lived in the US, it's my opinion that it balances out.

Another thing to consider is that due to various reasons, it's a LOT cheaper to live in most parts of Canada than most parts of the US when comparing a similar standard of living. Most of what it comes down to is that day-to-day items like food are relatively inexpensive, price points (eg $99.95) are nominally the same or similar with a cheaper dollar, you can live in an inexpensive neighberhood without being killed, and so forth. You get taxed more and paid less, but since stuff costs less your quality of life in unaffected (or in many cases improved).

None of the above applies to Toronto. Under no circumstances should anyone move to Toronto.

I don't claim that the US doesn't have advantages, but it's got huge (*HUGE*) disadvantages. Which you prefer depends on what your priorities are. The people whining about Bush's victory are the most likely to have priorities that would make Canada preferable, so I don't see the problem.

Don't come up here because you elected Bush. It's not like you had a good candidate on the other side either...

Have fun being targeted by terrorists for another 4 years because Bush drags his "War on Terror" on. He actually has a full term to do it this time, not that he'll ever defeat terrorism.

We'll be waiting when Bush turns your country downhill. In fact, the whole world will be with us too.

Dear Bush supporter,
This election was rather personal. One of Bush's more controversial policies has life and death ramifications for someone very close to me.
Please understand that I mean this from the bottom of my heart when I say this to you.
I hope you and your family suffer terribly because of Dubya's policies. I hope that your days are filled with misery and heartache. I wish upon you tears and pain more powerful than can be conveyed in words. Your support of a soulless man, whose Macavelian ideological tunnel vision brings untold misery to many, is contemptuous and disgraceful.
You are a sub-human stain on the earth. fark you very much.

P.S. May you happen upon your daughter's lifeless body; a victim of a botched illegal abortion. Another victim of Dubya's "compassion" society.

2004-11-03 04:57:50 PM
Isn't it cute the way these Canadians write in like anyone actually gives a shiat about their country?

Newsflash. The only reason Canada even exists is because you're our little biatch. I mean, if you seriously did even one tiny thing to piss off the US it would take, like, what? A weekend to pretty much roll in and absorb your ridiculous nation? So shut up. And don't worry. The cowardly liberal dreck that keeps making their pompous threats aren't going to do a damn thing. They couldn't get their president elected. And they sure as hell can't get themselves out of their parents basement.

2004-11-03 04:59:29 PM
It's actually too bad Canada has shiat for free speech protection. Elsewise, it's a pretty cool place, I think.

Doran - We'll be waiting when Bush turns your country downhill. In fact, the whole world will be with us too.

Uh, I don't think you know what you're talking about. The only people that want to see America go downhill are Islamic fundamentalists. Everyone else knows that even if we don't agree on everything, we are still on the same side.

If America fails, more than likely, the rest of the world will suffer. Go read this: http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/11/03/election.world.reaction/index.html
to see how other countries are actually reacting to the election.
