What Great American said Bush 300+ EV w/ 40 state landslide?

Who indeed?

cannibolic: Networks and other media types often get vote counts from the precincts themselves, since the vote total for a precinct is usually publicly announced at that precinct at the same time that it's phoned in to the state. So network vote counts may reflect a different set of precincts reporting than the state's vote counts do.

Back to how exit polls suck, look at the DOW today. It was +70 until the exit polls came out saying Kerry was doing well. Then it went -40 within an hour. I'd put the graph here if I had the skillz.

Soldiers and businessfolk like Bush. What does that say?

I hope I'm wrong about Pennsylvania, but I can't wait for Daschle leave.

It's called the Diebold effect. Sometimes votes just jump from one candidate to the other. To this day, no one understands it.

2004-11-02 09:14:30 PM
Darn it, most of the House races in Texas have numbers up on CNN, but the one I voted in doesn't. Where are my numbers, CNN?

You called a 48 state landslide for Bush. What happened?

2004-11-02 09:14:48 PM
Oooh, Bush has a nice line down the middle, but he hasn't secured the corners - Kerry could still outflank him and flip those.

Ohio must have screwed up tallies. ALl of Cobbs votes disappeared and Bush's lead just jumped.

WHAT!?

Diebold anyone?

2004-11-02 09:14:49 PM
I keep feeling Bush lost, and then that there is hope, I see Kerry supporters thinking Kerry is losing, I don't know what to think, I'm going crazy!! omg..omg...my head!..stop that ringing!

I understand well enough Kangaroo. Like any other conscientious and informed voter, you voted how you felt best to express yourself in the process. Nuance is not a dirty word.

"What Great American said Bush 300+ EV w/ 40 state landslide?

You called a 48 state landslide for Bush. What happened?"

Amazing. Sounds like your splitting hairs saying 'Bush is going to win, but not in a landslide'

And so the backpedalling begins.

2004-11-02 09:18:37 PM
Why does anyone bother checking Drudge? Please. If I was conservative it's still the last site i'd check for realistic projections.

2004-11-02 09:18:43 PM
What Great American said Bush 300+ EV w/ 40 state landslide?

You initially said 45-state. As it is, Kerry is clearly going to get at least 11 states, probably more, which makes your revised prediction wrong as well.

2004-11-02 09:19:31 PM
About the Cobb disappearing votes: Something never seemed right about them in the first place. It is still odd that he would go from thousands of votes to zero. Hell I'm a Repub and I think that is fishy.

PS: No Diebold in Ohio. We use official Florida brand punch cards.

2004-11-02 09:19:43 PM
Tadlette... because he has great links. I'm watching a live link from Fla and one from Ohio on their counts. Bush is up in both BTW. : )
