STOP IT WITH THE POLLS.

There is only one poll that matters anymore. Just stop it, already.

flame on.

2004-11-02 05:36:24 PM
Okay, how in the HELL could Kerry have a 98 electoral vote lead and be losing the popular vote? I mean, is that even mathematically possible?

2004-11-02 05:36:37 PM
Zogby International Finds: Bush at 49.4%, Kerry at 49.1%

Waitaminnit. International?

2004-11-02 05:36:46 PM
Bush didn't win popular vote in 2000 and I don't think he gained more support in the last 4 years.

2004-11-02 05:36:50 PM
God please let there be a "stole the election" excuse for the Republicans. It'll be so much fun.

2004-11-02 05:36:55 PM
Honestly, that just doesn't seem accurate. If it is, though, PARTY ON!!!

/obvious Kerry supporter

2004-11-02 05:36:56 PM
I would agree that Bush will win the popular vote but I don't trust Zogby too much

2004-11-02 05:36:59 PM
Ziggy has Kerry with a landslide. No..wait...*rattle* *slam* *beeoop*...ah yeah, Kerry wins.

GIS for zogby:

2004-11-02 05:37:15 PM
So does this mean that we'll now have at least 4 years of Republicans saying we should ditch the electoral college?

/thinks we probably should

2004-11-02 05:38:05 PM
Zogby has been consistently in the Kerry camp all summer.

I ignore him and suggest you do to.

In fact ignore ALL media until the polls in your state are closed.

Your vote matters, don't let anything or anyone stop you.

2004-11-02 05:38:08 PM
The only poll that matters is the one in my pants.

2004-11-02 05:38:15 PM
My pole is the only one that counts.

2004-11-02 05:38:22 PM
Who did what with Zogby's pole?

2004-11-02 05:38:34 PM
Everyone should know, John Zogby is a liberal.

The past 4 years have been just like that episode where Sam switches places with a helmet crash tester chimp. =]

(ah, I love that show)

Uhhhhh... Go, Thune, go!

2004-11-02 05:39:25 PM
So if Bush wins the popular vote will all those that biatched and moaned from the previous election fight and protest for Bush like they did for Gore or will they casually accept the results?

2004-11-02 05:39:41 PM
Everyone should know, the Wall Street Journal uses Zogby.

2004-11-02 05:39:42 PM
No matter what happens this election, I can't see the country becoming any less polarized than it is now. Democrats have been bitter for the last four years, and we know what Republicans are like when they lose (see the eight years of Clinton). No matter what happens today, I sincerely hope the end result is NOT Republican control of the White House, the Senate AND the House. That just has disaster written all over it.

Go Kerry

2004-11-02 05:39:45 PM
Methinks Zogby is being a bit too optimistic. Kerry by 6% in Wisconsin? Please. Either candidate will be lucky to win by 2.

2004-11-02 05:40:17 PM
Unlikely.

2004-11-02 05:40:33 PM
Spinal Tapp, that is the best "owned" image yet!

2004-11-02 05:40:57 PM
Bob Dole mentioned Zogby has his most trusted poll as well.

2004-11-02 05:41:01 PM
Actually, the only poll that matters is the BCS. IF the bookies in Vegas aren't running a line on a particular poll...then it really doesn't matter.

Wait...is there a line on the election?

2004-11-02 05:41:09 PM
I find these two, very interesting,

Florida (27) Kerry .1% Trending Kerry - 27

Ohio (20) Bush 2% Trending Kerry - 20

So they show Kerry winning Florida by .1% which apparently isn't "too close to call", and even though they show Bush with 2% lead in Ohio, they go ahead and give it to Kerry anyway.

Interesting...

Which party does Zogby belong to again??

2004-11-02 05:41:12 PM
So if Bush wins the popular vote will all those that biatched and moaned from the previous election fight and protest for Bush like they did for Gore or will they casually accept the results?

Only if a stacked SCOTUS hands Kerry the election in a poorly written and transparently partisan opinion.

2004-11-02 05:41:19 PM
So if Bush loses the electoral but wins the popular vote, will Republicans suddenly be for abolishing the electoral college?

2004-11-02 05:41:22 PM
and lest us not forget that Zogby has a poor track record. In the 2002 elections he was way off.

2004-11-02 05:41:36 PM
Yeah, but this is based on weekend polling, which normally goes for the Republican. Let's see how his tracking numbers shake out Thursday or Friday.

Oh. Wait.

2004-11-02 05:41:49 PM
Phrase I like to see the least on fark: "Flame On"

Something about it just makes me want to punch people.

2004-11-02 05:41:49 PM
Ugh. I'd almost rather Bush won than have Kerry do the same thing and win the electoral but lose the popular. The popular vote is what gives you a "mandate"... of course, politicians always pretend that they've gotten a mandate from the people regardless, but I mean a real mandate.

Exit polls also show no one likes those damned mixed pea and carrot disasters you get on the side of your steak masquerading as "Spring Vegetable Mix".

Yet somehow, you still get it anyway.

2004-11-02 05:42:21 PM
These polls are hurting America.

2004-11-02 05:42:39 PM
Zogby was the closet poll in both 1996 and 2000.

2004-11-02 05:42:58 PM
"So if Bush loses the electoral but wins the popular vote, will Republicans suddenly be for abolishing the electoral college?"

Not this Republican!

2004-11-02 05:43:08 PM
Say what you want about Zogby, his prediction record is the best out of all polling orgs. He called 2000 more accurately than anyone.

I don't want to get too excited yet, but I am so looking forward to the face that Bush would make when conceding. It'll be the "What? God doesn't love me?" face.

2004-11-02 05:43:10 PM
tnpir: No matter what happens today, I sincerely hope the end result is NOT Republican control of the White House, the Senate AND the House. That just has disaster written all over it.

I, for one, voted gridlock. Pitch them against each other and neither will be able to full-speed ruin our country.
