One of the many, many, many reasons why I'm oh so glad I'm no longer in the rat race of television news

TV = Evil

Xbox = Good

I love 24 hour news networks.

Surprise surprise. That's like a wedding photographer getting bored because the ceremony is too slow and taking pics of him/herself. Lame.

FARK actually took it one level further:

With no actual election stories yet, FARK resorts to that age old time filling standby: Covering the media covering itself covering the election

And I think this post is one level farther down yet!

Liars and thieves the bunch of 'em.....I wonder when they'll announce Pennsylvania.

Captain Scarlet

I hope you're joking, but in the off chance that you aren't, remember that a lot of people are still at work, and won't have a chance to vote until 6 or 7 local time.

Why don't they actually show something meaningfull. Like actual stances that each candidate has. Minute by minute exit poll coverage is useless. TV media is slowly every day coming more and more like the national enquirer.

This is what they should be reporting.

About 30 rented cars and vans that were to be used in the Wisconsin Republican Party's get-out-the-vote effort had their tires slashed Tuesday morning.

They say the three best things in life are a good scare, a good orgasm, and a good shiat.

Election night is like all three at once.

2004-11-02 05:05:03 PM
Funny... having grown-up on the 'left' coast, every four years we had to biatch and moan about the nat'l. news giving early results and 'calling' states before many of us even got done working for the day, thus making our votes "meaningless" and driving folks away from the polls. Then, after the '00 debacle, all of the networks and media outlets are shiatting spaghetti 'cuz no one wants egg on their face, and we're all like, "WTF? Why no coverage?"

Jus' sayin'.

It should be fun to see what exactly the networks will or won't be covering for the next few hours ...

2004-11-02 05:06:15 PM
This is why I'll only watch the Daily Show tonight. At least they're honest about their news being fake. Election coverage is always a craptastic bunch of guesses and lies, so the fake news will be just as accurate plus entertaining.

2004-11-02 05:07:18 PM
Seems to me like CBS will blow the whole thing with their "estimate" of a winner. They'll "estimate" and then NBC and the rest of them will go nuts trying to keep from looking like they're behind. Or, the rest of the night will be news stations condemning CBS for not learning their lesson in 2000. Either way, should be amusing.

I can't wait until I see the Daily Show Coverage of this, it should be ammusing when they predict a GOOD president, probably some guy not running, winning.

kari_marie, I once went to an outdoor wedding where things weren't going according to schedule because of late catering, and I guess the wedding photographer wasn't paid to stick around for more hours so he made us pose as if we were doing every element of the entire reception ceremony before we actually did it!

Fake dancing..
Fake taking the stage..
Not so fake kissing, but at the wrong time..
We even had to fake throw the bouquet and garder, literally, the photo was shot with us all standing on one foot and stuff reaching for it!

Ugh. That was so freaking lame. Worst wedding photographer ever.

And hopefully, the networks realize this year that Florida is in TWO timezones. People complain bout how close the vote was in Florida. Would it have been as close if the networks hadn't declared Gore the winner, when western part of the state (which is solidly Republican) still had an hour left to vote? But, of course, the Democrats don't like to talke about that. Because, Republicans can't possibly be disenfranchised.
