Even though I don't agree with liberals on a sizeable number of issues, we need to get these corrupt, arrogant nuts out of the White House and show the neoconservatives that their agenda is not what Americans want.

And if you think Kerry is going to be soft on terrorism, after 9/11, you're a moran who has seen one too many Bush attack ads. He cut intelligence and weapons systems, yes, but it was in a post-Cold War budget-balancing plan that was supported by many Republicans, including George HW Bush and Dick Cheney.

Furthermore, a lot of his plans, like government-funded medical benefits and maybe even tax increases for the rich, probably won't even get through the Republican Congress. When the White House and the Congress are opposed, it's mostly good bills that go through -- not partisan pork-barrel garbage. That was the situation during much of Clinton's term in office, and helped contribute to the positive memories people have of the Clinton years.

Remember, the sooner you vote, the sooner we can decide who gets to sue the other for fraud and illegal tactics.

I've been wondering lately... Say--hypothetically--a third party (aka Nader) gains enough support that the electoral votes split evenly three ways. The Constitution says that a candidate needs at least 270 votes to win, but if this situation happens each candidate won't even break 200. How is the final winner decided in this scenario?

I'm sure after the 2000 election each party started calling in favors from not only those attorneys in the party but also started networking through the State parties as well to set up a vast network of trial lawyers ready to go in Nov/Dec 2004. Right now the parties are the only client for many of these lawyers.

Difference is, like you said, the democrats are more vocal about it.

You know, like Clinton, who I think was a decent president, Kerry wouldn't be that bad for Republicans because people like a split government. Well, the exit polls showed that more democrats prefer a split than republicans, but the stock market likes it because there are fewer laws passed, and fewer wars which cause higher oil prices and more uncertainty. Only problem is that we have to finish these wars. Even though Clinton was pretty moderate and a free trader, he had enough sleazy politician in him to make people distrust democrats and Hillary scared a lot of people, too. Bill might have been a republican if it wasn't for her. But Kerry is a lot more liberal, even though he supported NAFTA. But republicans shouldn't worry too much about that if they keep control of congress. Clinton got his tax hike before '94 when the republicans can in. I only worry about terrorism with Kerry. He's gonna make the top priority getting OBL and then he's gonna call it a day. There will be five OBL's waiting to take his place. Hopefully not.

Through your site I found some numbers and made some phone calls and confirmed that I was registerd and that the voting place is down the street. Now to google details on each local proposition (Sacramento).

And I did not participate in the Democrat or Republican primaries because even in the list of candidates for primaries there were no good candidates.

That assumes of course, that you are a Democrat. If you are a Republican, then it's understandable that Bush was about your only choice.

That's understandable, especially with the relative extinction of the "small-government" Republicans.

If you really want a third party to become viable, then dammit, you have to start canvassing on November 3rd. And you have to keep doing it loudly until 2008. Period. You can't start campaigning at the same time the Big Two do and expect to get the same results. It's too late this year. A third party vote, right here, right now, is a waste. There are only two viable options, and unless you really, honestly believe that the one is every bit as bad as the other, you really should be playing the odds now and then playing your conscience for the next four years. This is not the year. If nothing else, there's the whole split government thing to think about.

This will be the 3rd time I have voted in a Presidential election. The first was when I as 18 in 1992. I think I was drunk when I did it too.
