Near where I live there's a house that put up this huge cool looking Frankenstein in their front yard, about 20' tall. haha yeah farking cold, was around -40 thats right -40 F and C for something like two weeks straight...without wind chill factor...with it was like -80 at times.

Yeah, it does smell like french fries and sometimes if the wind is blowing just right, there's the oh so lovely aroma from the sugar beet plant.

Grand Forks CVB should really start pushing the afact that we have dedicated sewage pumps to celebrities. Screw the fork; the Dave Barry memorial shiat pump is real news.

Oddly enough, a few years back before GF built the world's greatest hockey arena (Ralph Engelstad Arena), a friend of a friend and his buddy I knew who were drunk stole the scale model of it out of the back of a pickup truck behind a bar downtown. Apparently the guy that was transporting it in the back of his pickup had stopped into a bar and left it outside for over an hour.

I think that also made the news, but not nearly as widespread.

Christ, why has noone made a movie about Grand Forks, and all it's quirkiness yet???
