newsmax is a total propaganda machine. notice the bush ad smack in the middle of that article? and how about the rest of the cut-rate flash-flash-blink-blink html partisan crapola everywhere. what a piece of trash that site is.

2004-10-23 02:35:45 PM
Ain't that convenient... they say a few days ago that his trail has gone cold, now just over a week before the election they say they know where he is.

Reminds me of Mr. "Peace is at hand" Kissinger

Bin Laden is living in South Waziristan in the Baluchistan Mountains of the Baluchistan Region, Lehman told the San Bernadino Sun, after delivering a keynote speech on terrorism at Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif.

Is the San Bernadino Sun a total propoganda machine?

I agree that Newsmax information must be fact-checked.

Look at the homepage for newsmax.com. Hilarious.

I'm a bit confused. Maybe they're trying to flush him out so they don't have to go in. Or maybe they really do know where he is and they want Bin Laden to think that they're wrong, so they announce a false location? Who knows...

Is the San Bernadino Sun a total propoganda machine?

is the san bernadino sun sticking partisan ads in the middle of high profile articles?

2004-10-23 02:51:29 PM
doublesecretprobation, no they're not. This is simply a reprint from the San Bernadino Sun article.

Funny how containment is a good strategy for al Qaeda and a bad one for Iraq.

Shut up, shut up, shut up! Saddam Hussein was planning on developing WMDs and giving them to the terrorists he supported as soon as he got the sanctions lifted from his country. He was also a monster who did horrible things to his own people, and it's our duty to police the world for such things.

Re-elect Bush in 2004!

Go USA!
Don't mess with Texas.

elchip,

I think one of the most depressing things about this election year is I've lost the ability to tell the difference between the strongly held beliefs of Bush supporters and the sarcastic restating of those beliefs by Bush critics. Please tell me that was meant sarcasticly.

No shiat. This is a very odd thing to release.

What do you think I meant, you Godless heathen commie pinko liberal traitor Democrat Kerry-supporter? Bush is perhaps going to be the best president we've ever had, and will go down in history alongside the founding fathers (who support modern Republican values), Abraham Lincoln (a Republican himself... too bad he had to help those negroes out; if they were still unable to vote, we'd never have any Democratic presidents), and Richard Nixon (who helped send a bunch of Godless southeast Asians to hell, where they belong).

And yes, I am being sarcastic :)

2004-10-23 03:36:04 PM
doesn't newsmax post this article (or something very similar) at least once a week?

2004-10-23 03:47:26 PM
newsmax = t3h cr4p

2004-10-23 03:47:34 PM
"We'll get [bin Laden] eventually," he added. "Just not now."

Your tax dollars at work.

2004-10-23 03:48:08 PM
Surprise, surprise! I mean, October Surprise.

If bin Laden really has been located I would expect to see an attempt to capture him before Election Day. Unless of course the Saudis convince Bush that it would be a really bad idea... for his retirement fund.

2004-10-23 03:48:10 PM
Here we go again. "Bush is doing this as a political ploy." "Kerry is just angry that we have him, what kind of American thinks like that?" "Karl Rove knew where he was the whole time." Blah Blah Blah.

2004-10-23 03:48:12 PM

2004-10-23 03:48:15 PM
I've said it before, I'll say it again... if bin Laden 'turns up' within the week before the election I'm ripping up my passport.

2004-10-23 03:48:44 PM
elchip is my hero. and yes it is sad that i couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic in your Boobies or not. very sad cuz so many bush supporters are like that.

2004-10-23 03:48:55 PM
I'd been joking that weeks before the election, Bin Laden would be found, and would boost Bush into the White House. I just never thought it would acually happen.
The only think Kerry can do now is announce that he'll have Teresa cut off the Ketchup supply if he isn't elected.

2004-10-23 03:49:35 PM
AMERICA, FARK YEAH!

2004-10-23 03:49:35 PM
Gee. It sounds a lot like we're giving another country (Pakistan) a veto over our national security!

/but Dubya promised we wouldn't do that!

2004-10-23 03:49:58 PM
HOLY CRAP! OCTOBER SURPRISE OCTOBER SURPRISE OCTOBEr.... you get the picutre...

2004-10-23 03:49:59 PM
Wow! And just before the election! What are the chances of that?

2004-10-23 03:50:06 PM
I DON'T CARE IF IT WILL DESTABILIZE PAKISTAN! PICK UP THAT FRIGGIN' BALL BAG SO WE CAN KILL HIM!

2004-10-23 03:50:34 PM
Who said anything about sending in ground troops?

2004-10-23 03:50:37 PM
Spin spin my little doctors!

/Obligatory MUAHAHAHAHA!!!

2004-10-23 03:50:44 PM
clambam -- Just saw "October Surprise" in 'word of the day' email... how convenient, indeed.

I worked with a woman from Iraq who was not even allowed to visit her family there or even talk to them, purportedly because of Saddam Hussein. Also, Saddam did things like spend all of the country's money building those stupid palaces for himself. He was a bad guy. I think the USA should've just assassinated him rather than declare war on the country at large, but that might've resulted in some asshole muslim fundamentalist taking over and making iraq one of those fun places where women can't even get proper medical care, like Afghanistan during the Taliban era.

2004-10-23 03:51:58 PM
In other news:

Bush wins in a landslide!

2004-10-23 03:52:33 PM
Heh, whats really funny about this is, if it's true (which is highly questionable), the main reason we can't just go get him, and burn every Al-Queda in our way is that we've got so many resources tied up in Iraq. WTG Bush!

Yep.

but that might've resulted in some asshole muslim fundamentalist taking over and making iraq one of those fun places where women can't even get proper medical care, like Afghanistan during the Taliban era.

Well, if the Iraqi elections aren't fixed, that's what is going to happen. Most polls indicate that Iraqis favor a strongly religious government.

2004-10-23 03:52:57 PM

Slightly OT, but this has got to be shared (if it's already been the rounds, then my apologies, but it's the first time I had seen it):

What's the difference between Vietnam and Iraq?

George Bush had a plan to get out of Vietnam

Politics aside, I want this motherfarker caught and I don't care if it happens on November 1st.

2004-10-23 03:53:11 PM
Am I the only one who finds it unsettling that there is a "support Bush" advertisment in the middle of that article?

2004-10-23 03:53:12 PM
NewsMax and WorldNetDaily have also announced, several time before, that we found WMDs in Iraq.

I will wait for a good news source.

2004-10-23 03:54:05 PM
wow, weeks away from the election. how convenient...

2004-10-23 03:54:06 PM
Oh yeah, that looks like a totally credible, non-partisan, completely objective outlet for news and current events. Boy howdy.

2004-10-23 03:54:06 PM
Now watch this drive.

2004-10-23 03:54:13 PM
Can we all agree for now that this is BS? And if there's someone out there who thinks it isn't, why the hell are we worried about destabilizing a country to go after terrorists? They're real ones this time.

2004-10-23 03:54:16 PM
That was right on schedule, it would seem.

2004-10-23 03:54:22 PM
Psuedo-interesting GIS for October Surprise.

It's like an archaic cave painting! What can it mean?

2004-10-23 03:54:44 PM
SURPRISE!

2004-10-23 03:54:55 PM
You would think if there was some real credibility to this, the media would have gotten this tip on an actual news day. But a 3 sentence blurb released on a Friday? When it would hit the papers and evening news on a day where people are more concerned about the World Series and football? Not much of an "October Surprise."
