2004-10-21 11:47:12 PM
Jordan is probably more well known than Taiwan. They should be kissing the pimples on his ass that he decided to speak there. Lazy farks. He doesnt know kung foo or do any feces eating acts so why do they care?

"Thank you, South Korea !!!!!! "

"Uh, Michael, it's Taiwan."

Am I the only one who finds it humorous that T1,000,000 (whatever that unit of currency is) is only 30,000 USD?

why does taiwan need to be independent?
you guys don't need to go into this political bulls***, you gain nothing by being independent, you are trading with mainland china, and making a lot of money, keep it that way before they bomb your little island into the stratosphere

Michael Jordon is still alive? Why?
2004-10-22 12:55:14 AM
The actions these superbrands take to bring you the latest greatest cheapest shiat possible is completely digusting. If you are interested, read up on EPZs (Export Processing Zones), and make sure to check out the book No Logo.
Bet you didn't know that Nike and Adidas shoes are stiched side by side in the same warehouse inside third world EPZs by 14+ year olds making $1.73 a day.

I got this badass poster in China. It says something about retaking Taiwan. I just thought it was cool.

Oh, and since this is about Jordan too, I'll pull out my Disinformation link on why Jordan really retired.

They Should be pissed, Nike flat out took advantage of these people, They marketed their product saying "If you buy this shoe you can win a ticket to see Michael Jordan"

So Nike sells Millions of shoes to people who have been promised a chance to see Michael Jordon, Then when the day comes 700 Tickets have been won, The biggest contest ever for 700 taiwanese and maybe the best moment of some of their lives.... And Jordan shows up for just over a minute.... Id be pretty pissed.

Sure Nike Pays the $30,000 and throws in a couple pairs of shoes later Jordan and Phil Knight are laughing at video replay of the fans reactions.

Oh and dont forget this too Bet you didn't know that Nike and Adidas shoes are stiched side by side in the same warehouse inside third world EPZs by 14+ year olds making $1.73 a day

Good thing those 700 fans will be reinvited to future events. So they can all be disappointed, AGAIN.
2004-10-22 11:06:52 AM
Damn Laowais!
2004-10-22 11:15:48 AM
Bottomline is Jordan nor Nike didn't want to piss off the masters in Beijing so that's why Jordan made just a 90 second appearance.

What do Tiger and Jordan have in common besides Nike logos tatooed on their souls? No backbone.
2004-10-22 01:52:01 PM
I believe they failed to take into account the conversion rate. 1 Hour (Taiwan) = ~90 sec (US)
2004-10-22 10:20:00 PM
Wow. Awesome. This drives people to discuss boycotting all Nike products. I guess they only get upset over the really depraved things corporations do.
