GuinnessDrinker I don't think winning the world series will be as big a riot risk. This was the world series. Beating the Yankees in New York, it doesn't get better that that.
2004-10-21 05:47:14 PM
Suck it, Yankees!

/Sox rule
2004-10-21 05:51:03 PM

You're farkin' nuts if you don't think the WS will be a riot risk bigger than yesterday night. When they win, I'm not even sure I'll feel safe 3 miles up Comm Ave in Brighton...

/not that I'll be at home

Looks like the Boston PD got a little overzealous with the BFG9000's left over from the DNC? There's millions of dollars worth of "non-lethal" crowd control equipment laying around for Barney Fife to screw around with.
Someone's head will roll over this one.
2004-10-21 05:52:28 PM
This is just setting the sox up for greater heartbreak when bagwell and clemens beat them in the series. the curse ain't broken yet, 1918 still stands.
2004-10-21 05:56:01 PM
Will the GuinnessDrinkers and The Hunguses be here to eat a little crow if/when that happens, J.Garcia'sRightMiddleFinger?

2004-10-21 06:07:56 PM
I just woke up. Does anybody know who won the game last night?
2004-10-21 06:37:48 PM
You guys that were out there in Kenmore square and Lansdowne may think that you didn't see anything going on, but at home, everyone watching the news could see from a birds eye view considerable destruction of public and private property. Your vantage point only allowed you to see what was happening immediately around you.
Watching the Fox25 footage, I knew it was simply a matter of time before the clashes would begin. I wish I could have reached through the screen and strangle the piss ants that were trying to rip down trees and smashing building signs and windows and trying to flip cars.
The greatest weapon I saw used was the searchlight from the helicopters. When the piss ants fround themselves on candid camera, they scattered.

"Sheffield is one of the few players on that team with any real class."

Yeah but wasn't he the one who said the Sox were basket-cases or fark-ups or something? Awful, scathing comments that he is currently choking on just like his awful loser team made up of losers did in this, their spectacularly lost series. That they lost.
2004-10-21 07:15:00 PM
Yanks fans......
As much as it hurts.... As painful as it is.... as bad as it kills
you to watch your team suck arse and pull the biggest choke in the
history of baseball.... as much as it eats you up in side to watch Red
sox fans jump for joy and gloat at your expense....
Take that feeling.... as bad as it feels... and multiply it by 86.
You now know what it feels like to be a Red Sox fan. Eat it and
digest it and feel a little empathy for those Red-hatted motherfarkers
you've torment and taunted all these years. Bask in the pain, knowing
it's been a long time coming and this is just karma.
Even if lose the world series... In fact I won't be shocked at all if
we do because both NL teams are solid and we may have just shot our
wad taking out the Evil Empire. But right now, for this very
moment... all is right in the world. The good guys won.

God bless the Sox. (but why the FARK did he put Pedro in to pitch the
7th?!?!? Was it the fact that Lowe was cruising with a one
hitter?!?!? Was it that the crowd was completely out of the game and
he wanted to give them a reason to cheer that stupid "who's your
daddy" cheer?!?!? ) Whatever.... Johnny Damon and David Ortiz are
your daddy now and despite Grady Francona's best efforts these boys
were not going to lose this game. It's awful quiet in the big apple
right now. And damn this feels good!

Sox over the 'Stros in 5. You heard it here first. People will be
having sex in the streets of beantown.
2004-10-21 07:20:58 PM

some people can't let it go.. jeez..

in response to the idiotic comments, i myself will be as brainless as the one posting the number "1918"

I'm with guinessdrinker and co.

There was MUCH more noise-making and celebrating than destructive acts.

Unfortunately some idiots have no respect for ANYthing or anyone, and feel it necessary to get out of control. I know this jackass who rode with a few buddies 3 hours simply to riot. Not even a sox (or baseball for that matter) fan. What a farking dickhead.
2004-10-21 08:11:18 PM
Props to the bosox from a yankee fan, they played well, with their back to the wall, and showed a lot of character.

And inevitably, will blow it in the world series.

Good season all around. Unless your name is Ken Caminiti.

They say the twenty seventh is the hardest one to get. We'll get it in '05.

/Go Yanks!
//Attention shifts to New York Football Giants completely.
2004-10-21 08:13:33 PM
UMASS student here! Happy day all!
the building closest to mine, in the window of a yankees fan there has been the sign since game 3 that read "WE GOT THIS!!!", with a yankees emblem. Its still there... its just a really funny thing to see.
Truly awesome and amazing tho... this is the kind of thing that we will probably all appreciate more in 10 years from now too, which is cool considering any time I see replays of the series, i can't help havin a lil teary-eyedness.
2004-10-21 08:56:57 PM
I find it funny people can be passionate about this crap.
2004-10-21 09:16:40 PM
you still have to win the world series :p
2004-10-21 09:44:18 PM
I have just got to know what pwned means.

*Bzzt* Wrong. A LOT Of people in CT love the Yankees. I live in Southwestern CT, and it's basically 1/2 Yankees fans, 1/4 Sox, and 1/4 Other teams.

Okay, I guess I should have said "CT past the Metro-North line" -- it makes perfect sense for the bedroom communities to follow the Yankees, but once you pass New Haven, the Yankees fans get fewer and further between, and by the time you hit the CT/RI border, it's pretty solidly Sox territory.
2004-10-21 10:46:54 PM
Where is the National League thread???
2004-10-21 11:54:06 PM
Brown and Vasquez: 25 Million Dollars.
A-Rod: 25 Million Dollars.
Luxury Tax for violating the collective bargaining agreement: 23 Million Dollars.

The Yankees in games 4-7: Worthless.
2004-10-22 12:51:53 AM
Just wanted to add that seeing Yankee's fans in the crowd crying, pulling their hats down, and generally looking pitiful...good. Now you know what it's like. Yank's thanks for blowing it. Damon, Ortiz, my first to kids will be named after you.

First of all, Congratatulations on your team's historical biatch-slapping of the reviled Wankees - and this comes from an NL-loving 'left coaster'. As a fan of the game who has had the pleasure of seeing your team beat the Wanks during the regular season game in Fenway a few years ago, i'm literally bouncing off of the walls celebrating this long due win. BUT....

'Go sign Zito, Beltran, Bonds, Schmidt, and a bunch of other names, you'll still fail and your team will remain soulless.'

Heeeey now, i'm a diehard-yet-bitter Giants fan. Our Barry ain't goin' NOWHERE. He'll retire in this city by the Bay, get used to it. Win the series this year, so you won't be disappointed when we trounce you in '05. AFTER beating the Wanks for ACLS 2 years in a row, that is...

/this one's on me

Way to go Red Sox from a Braves fan! Yankees are the biggest choke artists of all time, especially with their $180+ million payroll.

Top 10 From CBS-Late Show Last night - read by Curt "Steel ball$' Shilling:

The Top Ten Secrets to the Boston Red Sox Comeback.
10. Unlike the first three games, we didn't leave early to beat the traffic.
9. We put flu virus in Jeter's gatorade.
8. Let's just say Pete Rose made some phone calls for us.

*Bzzt* Wrong. A LOT Of people in CT love the Yankees. I live in Southwestern CT, and it's basically 1/2 Yankees fans, 1/4 Sox, and 1/4 Other teams.

What, did Stamford/Norwalk go all Republican the last five years? When I lived there it was like:
Yankees 40%
Mets 35% (80% of whom are also Sox fans)
Red Sox 5% (also Jets haters)
"Both" 5% (asswipes)
"I'm too cool to watch sports" 5%

Ok Thanks, Foozdude. I'll use this one...

5. Pwned

A word that noobs type because a godly computer gamer nerd typed a "p" instead of an "o" and now most idiots copy him because it's cool.
2004-10-23 02:17:39 AM
I guess we shouldn't have logrolled for "Sox vs. Yankees" huh?

/sox rule, yankees can suck it, suck it yankees

Jets suck, Knicks suck, Yankees suck, Krypton sucks
