I thought that Edwards did rather... poorly in his debate, but Kerry should bring the excitement back tonight.

Kerry is going to kick Bush's butt. (again)

Anyone got a good link for a drinking game? I want some firmly established rules before my drinking begins. I intend to get drunk tonight!

A good start would be whenever Kerry says "I have a plan" and whenever Bush mispronounces a word or says "hard work". Bonuses for "back door draft", "mission accomplished" or anything like that. Halfway through the debate, you'll be able to add more, the catchphrases they're using should be obvious by then.

People, the thing you are seeing on bushes back is just the strap to his manssiere. That's right, Bush has biatch-tits.

TBone3212,

Well, you might want to leave Osama out. Bush doesn't care about him anymore

Not necessarily! Still a good rule given how often Bush confuses Saddam/Osama!

2004-10-08 08:51:34 PM
Kerry > Bush.
Is anyone REALLY expecting anything different?

2004-10-08 08:51:39 PM
The Daily Show jokes will, once again, write themselves.

I just love how Cheney claimed to have never met Edwards until Tuesday, and then Jon found some file footage proving Cheney a liar.

Bush is going to come out swinging hard this time around.

And he's going to hit himself in the nose.

Q314

Apparently, quite a few people who have looked at that pick think it's a kevlar vest and/or speaker thing leading to his ear, for his lackies to tell him what to say.

Personally, it looks like a friggin suit. Yeah, suits get weird creases in 'em.

just today I had to convince a dood at work that 911 and Iraq were unrelated.

Sheesh.

I have to pat myself on the back that in the last debate thread I was the only one who pointed out that the delays and distractedness of his answers seemed very much like someone distracted by trying to monitor another conversation. What would happen if they did prove he cheated (and still lost) on the first one? Would he be disqualified and force Growly McCrashcart into the number one slot. [laughts at self] Hopefully someone is running a powerful radio jammer this time. Or use an oscillating magnetic field to cause the windings in the earpiece to heat up and make him take it out right there on camera. He might actually do better without Rove and Chenney hissing at him while he's trying to use his very limited resources to form a cogent thought, then try to connect that to his sixth grade vocabulary, then try to run that through his coke fried verbal circuitry.

That being said, I feel fairly comfortable in saying that something may or may not happen in which one or the other looks somewhat bad or good. There. How's that.

/off to mix a pitcher of martinis for the debate entertainment

Hey OldButFast --

Are you going to predict that Bush's electoral college vote projections will shoot beyond 400 after the debate, like you did last time?

2004-10-08 08:54:39 PM
beer4breakfast

Did you see Clevershark's post?
See what Bush says about Osama

2004-10-08 08:54:47 PM
37 posts and the debate hasn't even started yet? Hold your horses, people...

2004-10-08 08:54:53 PM
That is a MICROPHONE PACK. The candidates each wear TWO of these, and there is also a microphone on the podium, which is connected, but only as a backup.

2004-10-08 08:55:24 PM
where can I get a stream of tonite's debate

2004-10-08 08:55:24 PM
I get the feeling that if they think he's cheating, they'll be some people who take it upon themselves to try extra hard to catch the signal ;p

2004-10-08 08:55:47 PM
I actually think it's a bullet proof vest (someone else pointed this out in another thread)... The secret service requires he wear one when in front of a certain number of people... just another theory, but makes sense...

2004-10-08 08:57:37 PM
And Bush will start out the debate with this:

"How's Your News?"

2004-10-08 08:58:01 PM
I almost want to miss the first 10 minutes of the debate on TV and just read the comments here...

How appropriate: Rage Against the Machine came on my local radio station, just before the debates are to begin.

Yeah you do what they told ya

I'm just enjoying watching the local boobs trying to eclipse each other's campaign signs while the remote pundits are weighing in during the pre-game yakfest...

Ok, so what's the rules for the drinking game?
Not too creative but how's about every time Kerry says VietNam, everybody takes a drink?

My husband is too busy watching Enterprise.

Michael A. Peroutka for Prez
Constitution Party

I ain't voting for Bush or Kerry. If Republicans were as conservative as they supposed themselves to be, and as the public thinks they are, we wouldn't need a Constitution Party. The only Republican I'd elect Prez at this point is Ron Paul, down in Texas.

I'm voting Constitution Party. A vote for Bush is a vote for Big Brother, Kerry's a flipping liberal, so there you have it. Why vote for the lesser of two evils when you can vote for someone good?
