2004-10-08 09:07:50 PM
Changing positions very often?

Why does that just sound dirty?
2004-10-08 09:07:52 PM
Bush: "He sends a confusing signal to people."

Who does that George? Won't get fooled again?
2004-10-08 09:07:54 PM
Why dont we just have a UCF Cage fight between the candidates? That would be awesome. More entertaining anyway.. and then the wives could go at it. But they have to be naked.. er wait.. how about the daughters? They have to be naked and covered in oil.
2004-10-08 09:07:55 PM

Who's gonna be here when the wrong guy gets in on November 2--provided we even HAVE an election?

I'll be griping no matter if it's Bush or Kerry. If Peroutka should win (give a dog a bone here!), I will be CELEBRATING and dancing around oh so happily!

2004-10-08 09:08:25 PM
Bush made a bad entrance onto the stage before. His head was down and grimacing while Kerry was upright and attentive. Not good.

Bush needs to stop sounding so defensive.
2004-10-08 09:09:11 PM
First question and Bush goes down, he's a broken record.

ABCNEWS Political Director Mark Halperin Friday October 8, 2004

"It goes without saying that the stakes are getting very high for the country and the campaigns - and our responsibilities become quite grave

I do not want to set off and (sic) endless colloquy that none of us have time for today - nor do I want to stifle one. Please respond if you feel you can advance the discussion.

The New York Times (Nagourney/Stevenson) and Howard Fineman on the web both make the same point today: the current Bush attacks on Kerry involve distortions and taking things out of context in a way that goes beyond what Kerry has done.

Kerry distorts, takes out of context, and mistakes all the time, but these are not central to his efforts to win.

We have a responsibility to hold both sides accountable to the public interest, but that doesn't mean we reflexively and artificially hold both sides "equally" accountable when the facts don't warrant that.

I'm sure many of you have this week felt the stepped up Bush efforts to complain about our coverage. This is all part of their efforts to get away with as much as possible with the stepped up, renewed efforts to win the election by destroying Senator Kerry at least partly through distortions.

It's up to Kerry to defend himself, of course. But as one of the few news organizations with the skill and strength to help voters evaluate what the candidates are saying to serve the public interest. Now is the time for all of us to step up and do that right."

2004-10-08 09:09:22 PM
Bush just looked at that guy like a terrorist holding an ice cream cone
2004-10-08 09:09:22 PM
Time to watch Bush choke again, w00t!

"the hardest decision a president makes is ever to use force."

2004-10-08 09:09:32 PM
WTF is with this format? No back and forth interaction with the questioner as the usual "town hall meeting"...and they're just regular weirdos that aren't used to being in front of NATIONAL TELEVISION! So why not just have the moderator do it?
2004-10-08 09:09:32 PM
good least someone in the audience gets it.

Go George...9/11 changed EVERYTHING!
2004-10-08 09:09:34 PM

I read a story today that the Taliban control 20% of the country, and ride rough-shot over the country side.
2004-10-08 09:10:18 PM
Bush answered perfectly.
2004-10-08 09:10:27 PM
Bush is already doing better then he did last week. He should pull a George Costanza and exit right now.
2004-10-08 09:10:28 PM
This is boring.. he hasn't said "uh umm " in like 60 seconds.. it must be a robot, not the real bush.. not funny like last time =(
2004-10-08 09:10:38 PM
I would like to go to that thing. My question would be for Kerry. "Senator Kerry, I made a poopie. Please discuss."
2004-10-08 09:10:39 PM
75% of Al Queda brought to justice?
Whose ass did he pull that number out of? O'Reilly's?
2004-10-08 09:10:41 PM
9/11, 9/11, 9/11, Nothing to do with Iraq. Bush needs to read the paper or something so he has a clue whats going on.
2004-10-08 09:10:45 PM
"each situation is different" Bush just said.

Hey moron - several nations out there are now considered to be paranuclear states or are on their way to it. Why did we not invade Pakistan or Argentina? They have or will have nukes, but you chose Iraq instead....I guess OIL had nothing to do with it, right?
