Does this mean that "The Shins" will come out of the closet in 2010? Because the most obvious gossip apparently comes out really really late.

Hip replacement...Jeez, how old are these guys?

I used to listen to them in high school...how old am I?

Oh hell, I'm going to drive my car into a farmer's market.

He must have access to some sweet pain pills though. New meaning to doctor feelgood. I must mention I hate their music though. Yes, hate. I would leave wherever it's playing to avoid their annoying vocal melodies, their guitar and drumming are ok though. I don't like Vince's voice.

/Mtley Cre sucks
//as does most metal

Theatre of Pain.

I remember the first Crue video I saw on MTV, "Looks That Kill". I thought, do these guys think they're KISS with the makeup?

Shortly thereafter, all the pop metal bands had fluffy hair and eye makeup on.

He should move to Green Bay, sadly enough people still worship hair metal here.

/The radio stations are creaming their panties over a county faire worthy concert here featuring the legendary Tesla and Scorpions. I need to move.

Or Worcester, MA.

2004-10-08 07:35:18 AM
Mars is a lot older than the other guys in the Crue. He has to be in his 50s.

"Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars undergoes hip replacement surgery. Still no surgery available for sucky guitar playing"

2004-10-08 07:57:39 AM

Still no surgery to keep people from using the OBVIOUS tag incorrectly.

He needs to get well for the reunion tour next year...cant wait. To all of you who say Metal sucks....It sure beats the hell out of the backdoor boys, or beyonce....or britney, ...and I wont even mention cRAP, cuz cRAP absolutely sux. The one big difference between todays hip hop crap and 80's metal is back then they actually PLAYED the music, and the singer sang it. Unlike todays lip synced shiat.

Long live heavy metal!

I wonder what brand hip they used? Hopefully they used the best, Wright Medical Technology.

Mötley Crue never really did anything for me.

Just checking the umlaut thing.

It is impossible to go off thread by talking about generously endowed females in a post relating to Motley Crue so.....is it just me or has anyone else noticed todays SBB Girl! Bejebus!

Career replacement? Get real these guys have plenty of dough. More than you or I will ever have.

2004-10-08 08:32:56 AM
Ironic. He hasn't been "hip" for years.

Yeah. BFD. Van Halen had this surgery done like 10 years ago. His was mainly alcohol-related. He was so drunk while performing and jumping off the drum riser he didn't realize the injury he was doing to his hip every time he landed on just one leg.

Hey, everybody, did you see that? He put a c in front of 'rap' so it's like 'crap'! Get it? Get it?? This guy is brilliant!

Sammy Hagar reference in one headline, now Mick Mars, could a 80's hair rocker trifecta with ego man David Coverdale be far off?

/ yup, i was a mullet man at one time in my life...

2004-10-08 09:13:58 AM
LOL at the headline, good stuff

If your music attracts chicks, yes eventually it could cause them to need replacement

Satan has come back to Mick one body part at a time. His right ear will be next. His soul will be last.

Nice to see Mick kept the 'stache.

2004-10-08 10:16:36 AM
A life devoted to hedonism? Sex and drugs and booze and rock and roll and then some more snatch? And be dead by 40?
Where do I sign, Satan?

2004-10-08 10:17:30 AM
Just finished Crue autobio. Mick's ex-wife used to beat the crap out of him all the time. His part of the book was really just a bunch of whining. Pussy.

2004-10-08 10:18:01 AM
One of my favorite metal memories was from the Crue's 1990 concert in Baton Rouge. Somebody in the crowd threw a cup of ice on Mick while he was doing his little solo, and he stormed off the stage. They ended up cutting the concert short because he was so ticked off.

2004-10-08 10:21:27 AM
No cure for dick-fingered guitar playing either.

I saw Crue way back in 1984 on their first headline tour. I was a 15 year old kid in the front row at Nassau Colliseum and stoked to be there. The opening band was 'Y&T', and I thought that they were great. Motley Crue sucked though. Mick had a long solo where he just played the same note and held it, over and over. I always cringe when I think of that show. It's what pretty much got me out of that whole hair band thing.

2004-10-08 10:38:42 AM
/submitted with a "Paging Dr Feelgood to the Theatre of Pain" headline.

First album i ever owned was Shout at the devil.

U kids may have your Stinkin Lark and other sub par RIAA\Mtv bands.

I saw them on the Theater Of Pain Tour, Tommy playing drums upside down was farking awesome and so were the chicks at the show. Aah, the good ole 80's, just out of high school, on my own at 18 living life and partying every night. How did I manage to make to the ripe old age of 38 now without being diagnosed with any STD's or Aids for that matter? And so far no one has come forth claiming any of their kids are mine.....
