Right. Most tours do indeed come complete with tour dates.
2002-02-11 02:54:13 PM
Why did the asynchronus multi-threaded chicken cross the road?

To side to the other get.
2002-02-11 02:54:23 PM
When are they going to be on first??
2002-02-11 02:54:48 PM
I Don't Know is on third.

But really, old and decrepit as they may be, the Who kick ass. I would definitely pay to see them.
2002-02-11 02:54:48 PM
Saw them in '88. I won't get fooled again.
2002-02-11 02:55:09 PM
The Who... Gimme a break. What's this, their final, semi-final, almost gone farewell tour? Or their semi-almost completely final farewell tour? Buttwipes.

yes, it's offtopic. But there's gonna be a lot of offtopic posts until Drew Curtis Presents Drew Curtis' mentions that they won the farking photoshop contest.
The above image is one that (oddly) didn't make the final 10 at SA. It liked it to much I had to share.
2002-02-11 02:55:16 PM
Man..they should have given up after their "Farwell Tour" in '83, or their "Final Tour" in 89.. or their "Last tour-this time we mean it-tour" in '93.
2002-02-11 02:55:59 PM
If I mention the thirdbaseman's name who could I say is playing third??
2002-02-11 02:56:07 PM
Oh. They did announce it. Well, there's a funny picture anyway.
*off to other thread*

2002-02-11 03:00:44 PM
2002-02-11 03:00:48 PM
What the fark have you naysayers done?
Pete invented the farking bar chords that you now ungratefully jack off to.
2002-02-11 03:01:10 PM
this is almost the 20th anniversary of their farewell tour.
(I saw the 5th anniversary farewell tour in 1988)

what ever happened to "Hope I die before I get old"

why don't you just f-f-f-fade away
2002-02-11 03:01:19 PM
the only thing new about the show will be the wardrobe, now designed to accomodate the band's "Oops I Crapped My Pants" undergarments.
2002-02-11 03:01:58 PM
I don't see any dates for New or Olde Springfield!
2002-02-11 03:05:52 PM
Oh, yeah. I forget you guys are all like twelve, or something. See, The Who was this rock band from England, from WAY WAY back - even before the early nineties! - and they really kicked ass, and.... oh just forget it...
2002-02-11 03:05:56 PM
Sorry, I think "Cool" should go in front of this tag.

Yes, they haven't recorded in years, yes they have had many many farewell tours.

For you naysayers, if you saw the Concert for New York you'd realize that they were easily the only damn thing worth listening too -- they blew the roof off the dump. On their last tour they were back to a five-piece band and they sounded better than any group made up of 20 and 30 year old on this planet. If they want to tour in their mid-50s more power to them. In fact, I think I'll gladly buy tickets.
2002-02-11 03:07:07 PM
St.Alfonzo, I'm fifteen, and a rabid fan of the who. We're not all like those idiots.
2002-02-11 03:07:27 PM
These old farkers just keep comin' back.
2002-02-11 03:07:34 PM
A friend of mine works concert security and he said Pete Townsend was a jag-off backstage.
2002-02-11 03:09:17 PM
2002-02-11 03:09:19 PM
Hey, didn't I catch their farewell tour a couple of years
ago? Whadda ya mean it wasn't their first farewell tour?

All jokes aside, they still put on a kick-ass show.
2002-02-11 03:10:09 PM
Finally I can go see them do something besides "Quadrophenia" which was good, but I want more from them.

Stands with fist like Notre Dame dude...Come on all ya Limp Bizkit punks try and get to the Who ya bastards
2002-02-11 03:11:31 PM
Wow. These are some pretty creative jabs. I can't see holding somebody to live their life by a lyric they wrote when they were 21. They like playing shows and, based upon the attendance at their shows, people like to see them play them.

They still put on a damn good show. Way better, in fact, then they did in the late 70's and early 80's. They may not be the best rock in roll band in the world anymore, but their touring doesn't hurt anyone, so why not?

My only problem is that they play the same damn setlist every time.
2002-02-11 03:14:12 PM
i hate the who as much as i hate led zeppelin. too bad screeching weasel didn't write a song about it.

"hope you die before you tour again..."
2002-02-11 03:14:56 PM
"For the last time, use proper English! It's The Whom!"

Joking aside, it all depends on the context. If I say "the who?" in response to statement "the so-and-so are playing tomorrow night," then I am right in using the nominative case since the antecedent is the subject of the sentence. On the other hand, if I say "the who?" in response to the statement "we just got tickets for the so-and-so," I should instead say "the whom?" since the antecedent is the object of the preposition.
2002-02-11 03:15:21 PM
I must concur, The Who still kick massive amounts of ass, but I, too would like to see them mix up their set list
2002-02-11 03:15:43 PM
Wadda yawn.
2002-02-11 03:18:21 PM
Creep Vassalage

with all due respect, someone needs to seriously hurt you.
