kudos to the submitter, scorpions rock!

This lady stayed in a box of scorpions just to see how long she could go for it?

2004-09-26 11:57:50 AM
She only came out because the scorpions kicked her in the box and shoved her... or something.

Oh, shut up.

Big deal - many girls can handle themselves in a room full of pricks

Speaking of scorpions...Has anyone heard "Hurricane Fresh" by Mc Lars? It's quite a guilty pleasure of mine since it rips the main guitar riff from "Rock You Like a Hurricane".
The rapping is sup par but it has that kitschy feel that makes it such an insane guilty pleasure.
"3D fresh, not 2D fruity."

I was playing that song in my car all day yesterday while driving around in Hurricane Jeanne putting up shutters. Gotta love the Scorps...

Although this morning I heard Bon Jovi's Livin on a Prayer-- it's amazing how cheesy it sounds in retrospect.

Thankfully, I've forgotten how Winds of Change goes. Otherwise I'd have to bash my skull in.

/Remembers how much she hated said song after it was played 12.7 billion times on the radio when she was a teenager.

Everyone stop listening to bad 80s music RIGHT NOW.

Nothing compares to a woman's box....Oh, sorry I mean a woman in a box.

2004-09-26 01:21:10 PM
unplanned ninja attack You say that like there was actually GOOD 80's music...

2004-09-26 01:26:27 PM
Phear

Yeah the "bad" wasn't really necessary. I think everyone at Fark is like 40 because being born in 1984, I have no appreciation for the bullshiat that was 80s music.

I do love much from the 60s and 70s though.

2004-09-26 01:37:32 PM
Feh, 80s music is the only music worth listening to. The stuff in the 60s was all a bunch of druggie stuff, the 70s were the spawn of Satan itself, except for K.C. and the Sunshine Band, and the 90s were so unspeakably awful that the Spice Girls were the best thing to come from it.

squishydrew, thanks for the new background image. I've never before found the words to express my sentiments toward the world quite so succinctly as "OK, Farktard!"

2004-09-26 01:50:04 PM
Ok, I'll be honest, being a DJ for bar parties and weddings, and crap like that.... there's really a TON of music I don't like...

I like all types of music, I just like the stuff that's either not gotten popular yet (so i haven't listened to it 4,295,241,963,394 times in a month) or just is good but will never really be heard...

Just to help along those of you who have forgotten --

I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change

The world is closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change

[Chorus:]
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever

I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

The wind of change blows straight
Into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring
The freedom bell for peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

Buzz-cut Alabamians spewing colored smoke from their whiz jets
to the strains of 'Rock You Like a Hurricane?'
What kind of countrified rube is still impressed by that?

the 70s were the spawn of Satan itself, except for K.C. and the Sunshine Band

I have to admit, that's a sentence I'd never thought I'd read.

I don't think people truly appreciate the contributions to the guitar that the Schencker brothers made. From UFO to the Scorpions to MSG (and don't forget Contraband!), they completely opened rock music up to non-pentatonic soloing.

Beuatiful stuff. "Still Loving You" has some great tasteful tone and solos in it.

Great headline!
I think that song was mentioned in Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
"All those present please say 'Here I am' followed if you like by 'rock you like a hurricane'". Classic
