Strange, I'm from Sweden and haven't heard of this, but the largest telecom company, Telia, have launched a cool service: Friendfinder, with that activated on the mobile, and your friends, you can find the place where they are, through SMS, perfect to use if you think that your partner isn't at work but with her lover...

Overuse of "France surrenders" yet again...

Why would I want to type messages over my mobile phone? Someone please explain this to me. And they wonder why SMS hasn't taken off in the US...

Optimus_prime:

Here in Sweden teenagers, and other, send millions of SMS just because of this:

* It's expensive, (costs about 0.15 USD/message here)
* You can't send anything about plain text
* You can't send more than 160 letters
* You have to type it using either the built in T9 system which is like 1/10000 of Word's dictionary, otherwise you just have to press the buttons millions of times for each word.

But hey, there are good things about it too: you can read and write messages whereever you are, but you can't talk in the mobile everywhere, then one you sends the message to doesn't have to read it at once, but doesn't need to find a computer to read it, as with e-mails.

Whatever happened to just throwing rocks at people? I yearn for a simpler, more innocent time.
