He did however have a "shotgun mic". Seriously.
2002-02-08 10:05:45 AM
Jesus Christ.... leave it to a woman to see a camera look and think it was a machine gun. Of course they also think 2 inches is a foot.... at least that's what I tell them.

Hay, wonder why all those police are here... gee, look at all the people running around. This is *great* footage.

Hey look, I think that's a SWAT te-

There's a lesson to be learned here: women are always wrong.
2002-02-08 10:10:52 AM
stupid women
2002-02-08 10:15:02 AM
Total idiots. I think those women need to go back to First Grade, where you learn the difference between a camera and a machine gun.

"Dick has an Epson 850z auto-focusing digital camera with 2.1 megapixels of resolution and a 32MB compact flash card. It also allows full manual control of f-stop and shudder speed, and comes in at a handy 19 ounces with a stylish carrying case.

Jane has a .30 caliber M1917A1 Browning water-cooled heavy machine gun. It comes with two boxes of cloth-belted ammunition and attached water pump and hoses. It can sustain fire at 400 rounds per minute and has an effective range of 1000 meters. It comes in at a manageable 120 lbs, allowing it to be aeasily moved around the battlefield by its crew of two or three men."

Incredible, absolutely incredible. I hope the women are billed for the entire ordeal.

This will be the best episode of his public access show ever, rest assured.

The guy in the cubicle next to me is holding a machine gun! Dear God no!

My was a cup of coffee

One word: Paranoia.

Americans think everybody is trying to fark them. Sounds to me just like collateral effects of September 11th.
2002-02-08 10:27:24 AM
They'll take my camera away from me when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

2002-02-08 10:27:49 AM this guy still a wacko?
2002-02-08 10:33:05 AM

STFU. We have already had whackos on buildings with guns. We had those way before any of these nazi ass terrorists came along and started farking stuff up.

Use your McBrain. Er, if the "Mc" is signifying McDonalds, then I understand that your "McBrain" is probably way smaller than the picture and isn't even made out of real meat.

Anyway, shutup you farking tool.

Now running for President of the National Camera Association I present:

What YOU'VE said is retarded. Of course people are going to 'notice' things that they ignored before. If this had happened last year, they probably would have ignored some guy on the roof.

Now everyone knows there are whack jobs that want to blow you guys up, so everyone one is more 'alert'.

They still should have been able to tell the difference between a machine gun and a farking camera, though.

OMGzZZ!!! There are people scaling down the side of my building! No, those aren't squeegees they're holding! Those are nuclear bombs they're carrying!

Ack! Attack of the bold font!

Oh well. The italics are what he said if you can't figure that out for yourself.

Remembers origional thread...

I don't remember how many of you said it, but a lot of people speculated that it was wither a cell phone or some other piece of HARMLESS electronics equipment.

Drew... Don't be overcome by tabloid-style headlines. Please. Don't let Fark become that low... Not that BOOBIES are low or anything...
2002-02-08 11:18:58 AM
Desynch: Sorry if I offended you. I admit my comment sounded a bit anti-american, but that was not what I meant. Now, YOU seem to be a bit out-of-synch with reality. Try to think past this xenophobic full-of-yourself way and you might learn something. Like treating people with respect, for example.

The Dark One: You got my point.

It never ceases to amaze me the things that can happen when a woman's imagination runs boobie-wild.

Desynch: I don't think ol' Binny Butthead has anything to do with nazi morons.
2002-02-08 11:45:54 AM
That'll teach them to keep their cake holes shut.
2002-02-08 11:49:33 AM
Video cameras don't kill people. People do.
2002-02-08 11:49:45 AM
I'm really not a violent person, and I don't usually feel this way about things, but I think I would enjoy beating them with a golf club until the stupid came out.

Is it wrong to feel that way?
2002-02-08 12:08:55 PM
Video cameras are scAAAry! Quick! Ban video cameras.

I'm sure N.O.W. will figure a way this oppressed women's rights.
2002-02-08 12:18:20 PM
These women should be shot. Imagine if the photogs were still on the roof when the cavalry showed up, and some overly testosterone laiden cop shot one of them?

Eliminate the stupid from our gene pool, please.
2002-02-08 12:35:09 PM
idiots... typical idiots.
2002-02-08 12:46:59 PM
stop the madness! when are we going to learn here? we need strict camera control laws in this country now! anybody can just walk into a camera store or camera show now and buy a cheap camera with out a background check! Cmon people over 15 children are hurt or killed every day in camera related accidents, lets look at the big picture here and not cave in to the National Camera Associations big money lies
2002-02-08 12:49:03 PM
Notice how the print the names of the "victims" of the missunderstanding but not the names of the ignorant biatches that gave the report.

What's the deal with that? I personaly would like to know who all the stupid people are so that I can avoid them at all cost, not all of them wear signs to identify themselves. Now, if there had been gunmen, I could understand withholding the names to protect them, but stop protecting stupidity.
2002-02-08 12:53:21 PM
if Heston was president then all of america would be one giant death match, and that would be fun
2002-02-08 01:11:48 PM
And just think, those women will probably get a commendation for their vigilance.
2002-02-08 01:33:39 PM
Darwin Do you mean that this was a tabloid headline? It seems pretty dry to me.
2002-02-08 02:28:15 PM
I am from Ct...I submitted this article the other day, but from a different source...apparently, I did not come up with a clever enough headline. I thought for sure I had my first article accepted....this just ruined my day.
2002-02-08 03:07:39 PM
I also support the mandatory 3 day "cooling off" period for buying cameras......taking someone's picture in anger is something we all need to think about first.......
