And of course using patented CBS News technology, we can analyze the contents of the glass by having an expert look at the photograph....

Has it really come to this?

Hero indeed. Jackass.
2004-09-16 10:41:11 AM
"Falling of the wagon" I am curious, really...does that mean having ANY alcohol at all, even just one, or does it mean actually getting drunk when you are recovering?
2004-09-16 10:41:34 AM
Not a Bush fan but where's his beer?
2004-09-16 10:41:36 AM

Umm... how exactly does this photo show Bush drinking? I don't see him holding a glass and drinking anything.

Sounds like CBS reporting to me... he COULD be drinking, but we don't know... but he COULD be drinking so we need to report that he COULD be drinking...

Just like those memos COULD be real... CBS doesn't have proof but they THINK they are real.

Are you rich, or just a masochist?
2004-09-16 10:44:34 AM
I would vote for him a couple of times if he started to bend an elbow every so often. It keeps you from getting all wound up and having to go kill a bunch of people. How can you argue with all of these wise people:

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the
morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day. --Frank

An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time
with his fools. --Ernest Hemingway

A woman drove me to drink and I didn't even have the decency to
thank her. --W.C. Fields

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading. --Henny

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? We think
NOT --Stephen Wright

Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. --
Benjamin Franklin

He doesn't have a drink in the photo, nor is there one in front of him.
2004-09-16 10:45:33 AM
I seriously doubt Bush would drink, especially in front of reporters, considering his past issues and his claiming that he doesn't drink anymore. The media would mercilessly slam him for it until election day. Just wouldn't happen.

I suspect that's someone else's drink.
2004-09-16 10:45:43 AM
Bush must have nuked the web site in a flash of damage control.
2004-09-16 10:45:44 AM

Any alcohol.

Coming from a family with a history of alcoholism, I can safely say that any alcohol will cause the alcoholic to relapse. Maybe not to a lifelong habit again, but the moment that first sip hits your mouth, it all comes rushing back, and all the old bad habits resurface. It's really a thing to watch, actually, to see someone work so hard at kicking the habit and then see it all get destroyed with a single drink. It's not pretty, but it's a thing to watch.

Alcoholism is a disease, and don't let anyone try and tell you otherwise.

I would hope so. I don't trust ultra-right wing religous nut jobs who don't drink becuse it is a "sin". Maybe it would loosen the guy up a little.

Page is now blank. Darn.

But thanks to the miracle of the internet, I found a guestimate of what it might have looked like:
