Just got done living there for the last five years- My fiancee grew up in Yarmouth. I lived in Hyannis and more recently in the cottages across from Laurino's in Brewster. I loved it, but I'm up in Vermont now at Law School. My profile pic was taken at Mayflower Beach in Dennis. I'm still down there every once in awhile.

So, yeah, I'd probably go if I was in town.

not only that, you can get them refilled on friday afternoons!!!

my friend's mom always buys the ipa, but that's way too bitter for me. their red ale (cape cod red, i think) is pretty tasty. haven't tried the stout yet.

also, they have this great band come every once in a while - the shotgun bandits. everyone should go see them.

Yup, and you're right, the IPA is VERY Bitter- great when the weather is really hot, but otherwise no. I like the red. I worked for a couple of Land Trusts on the Cape and we used to get donations of growlers and "brewery tours" for our fundraisers. I think one trust I worked for also hired the brewmaster's wife.

The other cool thing at the Hyport is the giant glass vat of strwberries infused in vodka. Eating one is like taking a shot.

Beachcomber would be perfect, I know someone who "knows" the owners but it is closed, I'll see if I can do anything on that front.

The Land Ho! in Orleans is a great spot (but a bit small depending on how many Farkers).

There's also The Bomb Shelter in Wellfleet (below the Bookstore Restaurant).

Just got back from a bachelor party in Oak Bluffs (The Vineyard). I am still hung over three days later.
Gotta love the Atlantic Connection. This disco cover band called The Boogies plays every thursday and saturday. You gotta see them. There's about 10 guys and girls on stage all done up in glittery spandex and giant afros. This one dude has 12 inch platform shoes made out of plywood.

West Yarmouth, about a mile east of where Main becomes 28 as you're leaving Hyannis.

It's on old club with a gravel lot on the north side of the street...sorta ugly but they have pool tables and tons of room. In the pool area, each booth has it's own crappy 13" TV with the speakers blown out. Damn that place was cool.

Whoever said this is the right time of year to have a party, you ain't kiddin'. All of the damn tourists are gone, but everything is still open for 2 more weeks, so you'd have your run of the place.

Holy crap I miss the Cape. I need to get out there. I loved wintering on the Cape...so peaceful.

30 years ago the Captain Kidd was a breeding ground for cholera. Remember the boots they used to leave outside the men's room that you had to put on in order to use the till? The place may be a tiny bit civilized these days, but its a huge improvement over what it was. It's the Leeside that has been hugely yuppified.

I'm not a Caper, but I'm about 1 hour from Hyannis.
So if there is something happening, depending on night etc, I'll be there.

I wish I could be there! I have a place in Mashpee, where I've spent my summers for the last +/- 35 years (longer than I can remember). I am shocked to see how many Mashpee farkers are on this thread.

Sadly, I'm not nearby enough at the moment to make that drive. September is really the best time at the cape - it's still warm enough to park your ass on the beach, most days, and all the tourists are gone.

I don't know the B.B.C. in Hyannis, but the one in Falmouth is a pretty cool place. Should be a good time.
