On the other hand, doctors often consider their sleeping patients dead and send them to either a graveyard, or a morgue, where pathologists eventually kill them during an autopsy. A selective inspection of coffins, which had to be moved from one graveyard to another in England, discovered four skeletons, the positioning of which in the coffins showed that the "deceased" people came to their senses after they had been buried.
SHUDDER

Reading Pravda is like reading a secular Chick tract without pictures if it was written by a college freshman who's padding for words.

"Can you use that verb that way?"

yep. "resurrect" is also an intransitive verb.

Stresses? I thought the plural of stress is stress?

2004-09-14 12:56:06 PM
Oh sure. A story from the Middle East from 2000 years ago is believable, but the same thing happens in Russia and you all just brush it aside as bad writing, bad science, and just plain garbage.

Hypocrites.

2004-09-14 12:57:00 PM
Believe it or not, this kind of thing is deeply ingrained into the Russian psyche. I know much about this because I have read many Russian novels and short stories, seen many movies, and, of course, read "Pravda," which stands for "The One, True Beet." Russians love the supernatural, the paranormal, the really weird and outre and off-beat stuff. Want proof: consider their current wave of nostaliga for the old Soviet System.

In other news, I just found a dead fly on my desk that I swatted last night. Apparently it did not possess the "time control" faculty, which is just as well. Imagine if dinosaurs had possessed it: why, some of them might be slumbering RIGHT NOW in hidden places, waiting only for nuclear tests or some other such human folderol to wake them up.

Hmmmm. I wonder if that idea could be made into a movie?

As you can see, the ice man is listening to Ace of Base, which was a very popular group during his era, and primitive drummings soothed his people's tempers.

"Some black spiders pushed me into the abyss. I was falling down very fast and woke up as soon as my body hit the bottom of the abyss," a man named Oleg said about his dream.

Bad Acid Flashback??

This is probably what you get when you spend the better part of a century shipping off your best scientists to Siberia for the crime of practicing science rather than party politics.
