Plain and simple PETA SUCKS

"Chickens raised for food today are intensively confined on factory farms, where they endure painful debeaking and declawing without anesthesia. Finally, they are crammed onto lorries for a nightmarish ride to the butcher, without food or water," it said.

if they don't have beaks, then they probably can't eat or drink anyway, so stop your biatching.

When will people learn that you don't win friends with salad?!?

2002-02-05 02:10:56 PM
In other news, the sun rose and will set today.

Someone just throw away the key to the cage, and the world will be just the smallest bit happier for it.

2002-02-05 02:11:34 PM
i want to see a pic of this idiot in the cage . . . hahaha
i wish he would have gotten stuck

2002-02-05 02:15:20 PM
I was hoping this article would end with a bunch of people picking up the cage with this guy locked in it and throwing it in a river. I bet a cage full of chickens smelled better than this guy does.

My vegetarian friend said I shouldn't eat red meat. So I looked at him and said "Listen stupid, you put the meat on the barbeque for a few minutes, it turns brown and THEN you eat it!"

"...humane slaughter of cows. "
something's wrong with this phrase...

2002-02-05 02:17:26 PM
Hey, you know the best part about killing a poor, defenseless animal?

Wacthing it die!!!

Oh, man I love that one :)

2002-02-05 02:17:31 PM
Members of PETA should do what Buddhist monks do to protest something, set themselves on fire.

2002-02-05 02:19:20 PM
Ironically, it wasn't long after the actor locked himself in the cage that a cow came by and ate him.

""It has used several vegetarian celebrities including former Beatle Paul McCartney, singer Bryan Adams and Indian Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan to speak against 'cruelty for meat.' ""

Since you put it that way. Sign me up.

No way! Amitabh Bachchan? I'm a big fan...

2002-02-05 02:27:43 PM
If God didn't want us to eat animals he wouldn't have made them out of meat!

2002-02-05 02:27:54 PM
Shut up you insenstive assholes. Let this man make his point , it is simple he doesnt want animals to suffer, why is that wrong???

the only good thing about PETA is that they do enough stupid shiat to remind me to tell my stupidly inconsistent PETA loving boss that I did a hatful of animal experiments in college and cut up their brains. If I am in a really good mood I add that most of the research was pointless - I just did it becuase I liked to watch the expression on their faces.

Before she implodes in stuttering disbelief I say "I can get a brain out of a rat really fast" and leave. PETA I thank you for making my life better.

People for the Eating of Tasty Animals

Aww, the cage is too big. I've seen cells at Camp X-Ray that were smaller. Disappointed.

Paul McCartney's wife was a vegetarian and huge anti animal testing campaigner. When she contracted cancer did she:

a) stick to her principles and die in unimaginable agony without any hope of cure or pain relief

b) take an enormous number of medications designed to prolong life and promote quality of life and even providing the possibility of a cure, in the knowledge that all those medicinces had been developed through animal testing.

Broise:

it's wrong because we are humans and are more intelligent and therefore superior to animals. if they taste good we should be able to kill them and eat them as we please. now excuse me while i go grab a bite of beef jerky...

2002-02-05 02:36:04 PM
I love reading stories like this. It's always so obvious these people have not spent any significant amount of time around animals in the wild, or even on a farm for that matter.

I can almost understand moral outrage if your talking about needlessly slaughtering whales, dolphins, gorillas, or some other intelligent animal. But we're talking about chickens, for God's sake. A chickens brain has 3 modes: Eat, Run from Danger, and Sex.

2002-02-05 02:36:15 PM
As a vegetarian content to stick to worrying about my own diet, I'd like to apologize to for all the immature little assholes that have nothing better to do with their time than throw temper tantrums and act like children. Most PETA members are dysfunctional slackers. They aren't as interested in doing any good as getting attention and upsetting people. Their tactics aren't going to change meat-eaters minds and, hell, they almost make me want to chow down on some tortured animal flesh.

2002-02-05 02:37:24 PM
thanks Bigpeeler
HAHAHAHAHAHA

does anyone else notice that no one is even paying attention to him

HAHahAHAhA

2002-02-05 02:41:49 PM
erm, VTGoddess, thats not the actual PETA pic... the guy in the pic looks like the guy from Oceans eleven.

Rock Chalk, JayHawk88, which lab do you work form?

2002-02-05 02:44:52 PM
oops . . . my mistake.
how can you tell, you can't even really see his face.

2002-02-05 02:45:40 PM
I think that all PETA members should join Mr. Madhavan in climbing into cages to demonstrate the harsh living conditions of the animals that we eat. Then, they should all be slaughtered to demonstrate the brutality of killing animals for food. Go PETA! You f*ucking morons.

2002-02-05 02:52:56 PM
It's simple really... I love plants so I don't eat them. Animals, on the other hand, they piss me off.

2002-02-05 02:57:05 PM
"Don't kid yourself Billy. If that cow had a chance he'd eat you and everyone you love."

2002-02-05 02:57:31 PM
The problem isn't that eating meat or wearing leather is inherently morally wrong. The problem is that the meat and leather that we as consumers generally have access to is put through a process that minimizes its nutritional value and maximizes the pain and suffering of the animal in order to maximize profit for some corporate fat cats who would prefer to laugh over your bloated corpse than work an honest day in their lives.

If you take it by Fark standards, PETA is having a huge huge effect on everyone's day to day life.

Yeah they suck, but can't we just let them be irrelevant until they do something REALLY funny..

2002-02-05 03:00:21 PM
All vegetarians suffer from a chemical imbalance in their brains. It's due to a lack of certain vitamins and minerals in their diet. Their brains can't understand how foolish they can seem to normal human beings. Pitty them.

Lucky for them there exists a cure for this condition, its called a cheeseburger.

2002-02-05 03:05:58 PM
All I have to say is thank GOD it wasn't Shahrukh or Hrithik doing something as stupid as that... Then again, they've got careers. Madhavan sucks in any case, he's too fat. Maybe he needed the publicity.

I happen to like leather & meat, I don't see why PETA feels the need to try and infringe upon my lifestyle. My grandparents are veggie (from south india), they stay for three months, and trust me, no one in my family is healthier for a lack of meat. Our biggest joke is how good the dogs are starting to look.

2002-02-05 03:08:08 PM
Yea! I just love when you guys get all pissed off about PETA. It really makes me laugh. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

Animals feel pain just as you and I do. They way our society mass produces and treats animals is inhumane. Think about it.

If I were to eat meat, I have always said that I would hunt it myself.

2002-02-05 03:10:45 PM
I'll stop biting animals when they stop biting me.

I worked with wild animals for a number of years. I was raised on a horse ranch and worked at the St.Louis Zoo for a number of years. And before the yahoos start yammering about the poor widdow animows being all locked up and tortured and not read stories before they went to sleep, I'm here to tell you that the animals under our care were absolutely pussified. They were spoiled.

They ate the best (and I mean the VERY best food), had optimum living conditions, immediate and preventive medical care, etc. Zoos aren't there for the public, despite what they may think. Zoos are their for the animals. To help further propogation of the particular species.

Anyway, long story short, I'm here to tell you that for the most part, (hold on to your knickers PETA), for the most part animals are idiots.

They survive on instinct, not their wisdom. They are subservient. They are animals. Mind you, I'm not a bug meat eater, but I have no problem whatsoever with people noshing on some critters hind leg. We used to laugh derisively at the feel-good animal lovers who would come into the zoo and 'talk' to the animals. We had people literally come in and just sit to 'be' with a particular animal because they had had a dream about it the night before.

Oh God, the stories I could tell. Eat hardy.

2002-02-05 03:17:21 PM
Bigpeeler: If you don't eat bug meat, what kind of meat *do* you eat? :-)

2002-02-05 03:18:04 PM
Tell the children
to tell the world
to tell the chickens
we're on our way

2002-02-05 03:21:12 PM
Amen Kylie! This subject will never have an agreed ending, there are people who believe they are superior to animals and it is their god given right to eat an animal. That is just sad, so it is ok to eat a cow but not a dog or a cat? animals are animals they feel pain and contrary to most believe are intelligent , and frankly more intelligent than most of the farkers who like to go on an on about how PETA sucks. Whatev

Sorry...was eating my rare T-bone steak....blood all over my keyboard from the steak..... about to eat my KFC Extra-crispy 3 pc with mashed potato and gravy with corn on the cob....what was the article about anyways ?

Right back atcha Broise. :)

2002-02-05 03:32:51 PM
Jayhawk - You are so right. If these people would be forced to actually work taking care of animals in an agricultural setting then I think they would have a totally different outlook about them. Romanticizing that a chicken has a higher consciousness is just plain ridiculous.
They tend to assign all the highest human qualities to them and absolve them of their baser instincts. Or they ignore their negative behaviors.
I have seen animals kill for fun, eat their offspring, steal from each other, fight, attack without provocation, destroy property, etc.

2002-02-05 03:34:28 PM
mmm...chicken!

2002-02-05 03:37:34 PM
Even if almost everyone here disagrees with the PETA stance, it sure seems like they are getting people to notice...
