Does anyone else realize that they have no clue where these things are going? If you're in florida... you're screwed
2004-09-01 09:43:04 AM
Georgia, Carolina Farkers be on alert as well..

If the hurricane goes parallel of the Florida coast, to northern Florida, only one in recorded history has hit northern Florida on the east coast.. therefore, it may steer north and hit Georgia/Carolinas..

Accuweather does a great job...

2004-09-01 10:20:27 AM

Hurricane party. Danger sex. No kid in the house (sending to parents due to them having a much more soundly built house).

Sounds like a great vacation to me.
2004-09-01 10:30:29 AM

i am less worried about Frances im staying at my apt and having a BBQ.

My thoughts exactly. Frances is going to Sinatra her way through Miami.
2004-09-01 12:03:24 PM
Looks like it will skim the nutsac of Charlotte, NC. Oh yeah, and won't the hurricane just surrender?
2004-09-01 12:03:56 PM
God keeps trying to cleanse America's wang, but we keep dirtying it.
2004-09-01 12:04:34 PM
Call Me Frances and I'll Kill Ya,

Greetings from the MIA (hope that thing don't fall short of WPB).
2004-09-01 12:04:38 PM
Nice headline. Good stupid/funny balance.
2004-09-01 12:06:15 PM
Ah, America's wang sees more action this time of year than Harry Reems. Hopefully, this hurricane will suck up all those Diebold voting machines before the election.
2004-09-01 12:06:38 PM
show me,
"Lighten up, Frances."

"Don't EVAR call me Frances. It's Psycho to you."

/wants to be a loofah
2004-09-01 12:06:52 PM
I can't respect a huricane with a name like Frances.
2004-09-01 12:07:08 PM
A headline that actually made me laugh out loud. You delicious bastards.

I thought that the names had something to do with their strength (i.e. Hurricanes Bertha & Hugo are gonna make a bigger mess than Hurricanes Wimpy & Tinkerbell)? Frances doesn't seem like a very tough name for a decent looking hurricane.

/ I am el nino, which is Spanish for... the nino!

Here are the models that they base the estimations on:

it is in a similar slot to where andrew was and the right turn was expected the whole time - but never came. I'm flying in on Sat AM for the FSU-scUM game and hope it makes a good wide right...
2004-09-01 12:07:44 PM
Why do hurricanes hate Florida so much?
2004-09-01 12:07:49 PM
Any of you homos touch my stuff and I'll kill ya.
2004-09-01 12:07:59 PM

Does that make Miami Beach "America's Prince Albert"?
2004-09-01 12:09:36 PM
Should go along nicely with this jackass. So glad we traded his ass!

I'll just take my chances with heat and earthquakes- I prefer my destruction instantaneous and unpredictable...
Good luck, it has to suck being in the path of two storms of that magnitude in two weeks...
2004-09-01 12:10:23 PM
or as Drudge has been calling it, THE HELLSTORM!!!!!
2004-09-01 12:11:51 PM
There goes the cost of orange juice
2004-09-01 12:15:51 PM

Good luck with your plans. And remember, "Computer models subject to large errors. Do not use for planning purposes."
2004-09-01 12:17:19 PM
Time to invest in Michigan Orange Juice!

Did anyone else just stare blankly at the headline for a minute? If there's humor there, I'm completely missing it.

/makes no claim of being humorous himself

i thought Francen was the plural of France ...
2004-09-01 12:20:40 PM
I hear not only will this be a wicked storm with the typical wind and rain, but that no religious symbols will be allowed to be worn during it as well.
2004-09-01 12:21:13 PM
Hopefully it'll wipe out all of the retirees, thereby lessening the drain on social security. If only euthenensia were illegal, it would save a ton in the national budget.
2004-09-01 12:21:48 PM

My ex's vacation plans just got ruined!

/Sorry, Florida - I used to live there, my prayers go out for you.
2004-09-01 12:23:06 PM
the plural of france is FROGS.
2004-09-01 12:23:32 PM
We're pretty much dead center of that (vero beach).

To take a cue from Gir, time to sing the Doom song!

This is going to screw us in FL. Just dodged the bullet with Charley. Now my 1st new home is going to blow away here in Tampa.

And for some reason the headline made me think that Florida is the plural form of France.
2004-09-01 12:24:57 PM

gah, why the fark did I move to Miami?
