The post office hasn't delivered it, but it will should the stamps be used. They may "legally affix" the stamp.

2004-08-31 10:58:09 AM
This would make for a great photoshop!

2004-08-31 11:01:35 AM
1. Put shady character on stamp.
2. ???
3. Profit!

I could have tried:

Imagine a beowulf cluster of these stamps!

-or-

I welcome our new "criminals on stamps" overlords.

2004-08-31 11:08:59 AM
InfamousG, you obviously did not RTFA and click on the giant link that said click here. They did deliver it.

2004-08-31 11:12:06 AM
We committed mail fraud! We're cool!

2004-08-31 11:13:32 AM
I don't know why, but the Rosenberg stamps made me laugh my ass off! There's just something too funny there....

2004-08-31 11:17:11 AM
"We're kicking off the collection below with our personal favorite, a 37-cent stamp featuring Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, the New York couple executed in 1953 for spying for the Soviet Union. On the succeeding pages you'll find stamps honoring Monica Lewinsky's black dress (the one splattered with Bill Clinton's DNA); Linda Tripp; deposed Yugoslavian ethnic cleanser/war criminal Slobodan Milosevic; MIA labor racketeer Jimmy Hoffa; executed Romanian dictator/Communist oppressor Nicolae Ceaucescu; New Jersey Governor James McGreevey and alleged gay lover Golan Cipel; and high school and college yearbook photos of Kaczynski, who used the postal service to deliver his homemade bombs."

Wow. Just wow. I think I'll take a book of Slobo's, please.

2004-08-31 11:22:13 AM

It is a 37 cent stamp!

2004-08-31 11:22:42 AM
Monica Lewinsky's black dress (the one splattered with Bill Clinton's DNA)

wasn't it a blue dress?

knucklebreather
how did they commit mail fraud?
did you RTFA, these are legal stamps

SuperCrackMonkey Hrmm.. I see your link, but I don't see that one on the page. Oh well, my bad.

2004-08-31 11:24:26 AM
Nevermind, found it. I read most of it, then saw the pretty pictures :P

2004-08-31 11:33:38 AM
I don't see the big deal. It's not like the unabomber dude was indentified by name. It just looks like some crusty old yearbook pic.

Besides, nobody _looks_ at the stamps, except maybe the guy at the cpat the post office.

2004-08-31 11:38:54 AM
If Ted Kacynski on a stamp isn't , I don't know what is.

2004-08-31 11:45:20 AM
I'm disappointed it wasn't the hairy-I-hate-the-world-I'm-going-to-write-a-manifesto-while-covered-in-my-own- feces Ted Kacynski.

2004-08-31 11:48:42 AM
SuperCrackMonkey

If the mail that was sent with that stamp blew up, I would call it ironic.

2004-08-31 12:03:18 PM
I agree earthrhino, I was expecting that hairy guy Ted, not a young Ted from college. Who would've known it was Ted Kacynski if they didn't say it was?

These are great. Too bad I haven't mailed anything in almost 3 years...must get a penpal or something.

2004-08-31 01:22:46 PM
A fee is charged...
Does it really matter what pic is on there? ...no one else is going to see it.

2004-08-31 01:23:01 PM
That's pretty funny stuff, but you can't seriously expect the junior-level employee assigned to stamp censoring to get all of these. I'll bet not many Farkers could have scored more than a couple hits without the cutlines. It would have been better if all the photos had been current and currently notorious.

2004-08-31 01:23:09 PM
Canada Post has been allowing people to create their own personalized stamps with their own photos for a while now.

Now if only they'd put all that energy and effort into getting my mail to me on time for a change...

****ing filter. Can't mock Yakov on Fark anymore?

Just spell it "$oviet Russha" and bypass the filter.

And this is newsworthy because....... ?

2004-08-31 01:27:22 PM
Awesome! I'm getting married next year, now I can personalize my stamps. Maybe one of my dog sniffing my other dog's butt!

/Christ, is gmail the new free ipod?

2004-08-31 01:28:01 PM
Cool. I'm going to make Bernard Goetz stamps.

2004-08-31 01:28:56 PM
does anyone else notice that Slobodan Milosevic looks like an older Dave Thomas (the one who was on Grace Under Fire)?

2004-08-31 01:29:23 PM
I'm thinking of making a Great Porn Stars of Our Time stamp series.

In Sowiet Russia, post-office stamps you!

2004-08-31 01:31:00 PM
Something like this happened up here in Canada back in the mid 90's. A bunch of people decided they were going to print up some fake stamps to see if the letters would make it through the postal system, and to their surprise, the letters made it. I recall one of the stamps depicting then Prime Minister Kim Campbell smoking a joint up on Parliament Hill.

It's not news, it's Fark.com

2004-08-31 01:32:04 PM
Naming an airport after the UNABOMber would be ironic. Of course, you'd have to know a little more about the story which is not something Farkers are known for.

Why has the USPS become such a money whore? Are they really in such a bind that they need to make cash like this? Anyway good work smoking gun.

/I recognized ted's photos, and you would too if you read any newspaper/news mag that came out around that time.

That's some funny stuff. :-) The new 'Infamous and Notorious' line of postage stamps. Get them today at your local post office!

2004-08-31 01:37:22 PM
I didn't realize that this was a possibility. I'm going to have to see if i can get some Darwin stamps made up for when i send mail to a couple of my christian fundie relatives.

2004-08-31 01:37:26 PM
These stamps are a ripoff. They end up being about a dollar a piece.
