I can't believe I finally got one posted.

I know it wasn't politically correct, but I still have the Red Baron.

I also still have scars on my back from all the Hot Wheels track fights.

I can't believe Hot Wheels used to produce cars that were actually real cars and not this crap with three wings, a helicopter rotor, and Elvis sticking off of it.

My brother blew up all my Hot Wheels with firecrackers. Then we went inside and watched G-Force!

Rhiannon,
I can't believe it either.
Hoo-fuggin-ray !!!

Back to the topic...
I know 2 guys in their 40's that STILL collect them and go to Hot Wheels conventions. The older ones are worth serious $$$$$ if they still are in the box/package.

I'm pretty sure there are literally ten's of those buried in my mom's backyard...under a mound...we were digging tunnels to china you understand

I had that Red Baron one too. Hadn't thought of that in about 30 years. And the garbage truck.

What the fark do you mean....USED to own. I still have all the little buggers. Like 150 or so. Vroom vroom vroom.

2002-02-03 11:26:24 AM
My mom made me throw them all out when I was about 12. biatch.

Grivas,
I know about those Hot Wheel track welts.
Yeouch !

Ahhh, thanks for the mamories...oh shiate that would be under BOOBIES...

but seriously, I had many from the 69-72 collection. Played with them for hours. Also the Rumblers. Didn't work too well on the track (think they were too top heavy), but they were cool motorcycles.

That was cool....brings back many happy hours of play....sniffle....

Those Hot Wheel tracks were excellent weapons, weren't they? I'm glad my mom didn't think of them when she needed something to beat me with.

This page means nothing if most of your Hot Wheels were purchased in the 80's. Oh well. I used to pretend that the track connectors were little surfboards...

I have to agree with underscore up there. Hot wheels are lame-assed inventions of psychos nowadays. Matchbox cars roll better anyway.

I clicked on "Strip Action Set", expecting something ... else.

Oh, well.

Yup, I had a couple of Hot Wheels when I was a kid.

Oh, man. That brings back alot of memories.. The old Red-line Hotwheels were SO much nicer than the later models. what with the springy suspension. The wheels that pop off and could be switch around or choked on. Anf the vehicle designs themselves. My dad pressured me into getting rid of my Hotwheels, though.. (as well as my Micronauts, Gi Joes, Transformers, Etc, etc)

(cries)

ahhhhh... micronauts, g-force, matchbox.. what great memories.. anybuddy remember the 'adventure people'???

Or how 'bout the best candy bar ever:

I still got a big stash of these in my mom's attic, along with a bunch of matchbox cars from the same era. The cat would run whenever it saw me with those long pieces of orange track.

2002-02-03 01:33:51 PM
Hey I remember the marathon bar!!! Wasn't it like braided chocolate with caramel????

2002-02-03 01:41:57 PM
8" of twisted, pretzelled caramel dipped in chocolate! How'd it ever get
discontinued
?

When I was younger, 'way back before the advent of Hot Wheels, the big debate amongst the lads was: "What's better, Matchbox or Dinky Toys cars?"

Yes, I said Dinky Toys. Click here for proof that this isn't a confused memory of puberty.

Wasn't there a story a while back about the guy who sold his Hot Wheels collection to pay for a sex change operation?

2002-02-03 04:15:10 PM
Excellent. I had a lot of those cars.
Also had a Johnny Lightning 500 track.

2002-02-03 09:19:23 PM
Hey, how many of you guys were official members of the Hot Wheels Club? I still have the nifty chrome plated '68 Camaro that came with the membership along with the cool Mattel logo stationary.

2002-02-04 10:44:27 AM
Bah. Matchbox cars were better.

2002-02-04 09:50:19 PM
I had the Double Dare Track (later model than pictured though). I threw it away when my mom tripped on some of my Hot Wheels, and then beat me with the track. Oww.
