Every year near the Holidays we get about 2 metric tons of Chocolate from my grandmother in Denmark. This stuff is more addictive than black tar heroin.

My dad gets the delivery and then allows a tiny, small trickle to get doled out, while his chocolate crack addled ass eats it all in secret. We know it's there, but even after 25 years of hunting, no one has been able to ever locate that sick bastards choco-stash. A few years ago, there was serious talk amongst the siblings about tying him to a chair and cutting of an ear with "The Joker" playing untill he fessed up.

Those Danes are a crafty lot. He saw us coming, and we have the scars to prove it.

Having tried North American chocolate and now New Zealand's bars, I'd have to say New Zealand's "Whittaker's Dark" blows away anything I've ever had.

Their "Peanut Slab" is damn good too.

Both chocolates aren't as sweet/sugar laden as N. American stuff.

That's 18.5 pounds of feline love right there. He doesn't eat chocolate.

I worship the dark chocolate pyramids.

Wow. Does he eat the other neighboring cats instead?

And I think it's the honey that makes those mountain ranges get the extra step in this competition.

has anyone ever tried something called a "Double Berry"?

I have. Many times. I love it!

My girlfriend says it makes her feel uncomfortable when we do it, and that it's probably not healthy for her girl parts.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

I have no idea if RMCF is available on the east coast. I don't think See's is. Either one beats Godiva, and for a fraction of the price.

Why do crappy surveys like this make it through to normal Fark, but the awesome ones that have been posted today don't? Geez :(

Better than Hershey's plain, better than pretty much any plain, mass-produced chocolate in the States. And it's not for girls, so I have good reason not to share with the woman.

As for the original survey:

1. Mr. Goodbar
2. Special Dark (with a bullet)
3. what were the other two?

Seriously, I don't even bother with the plain Hershey's, and I've REALLY lost my taste for Krackel. I used to love 'em, now I just leave them for the next person to fish through the candy bowl.

The aforementioned woman loves Violet Crumble, and she has been to Australia. I don't get the fascination with that, or Flake, or Aero even (although the mint Aero is pretty tasty). I'm not going to drop cash on something that purports to be chocolate with interesting texture, but is essentially chocolatey air. You can do crunchy and flaky without all the null space (see: Butterfinger).

OMG! Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory makes the best caramel apple in the whole freaking world.

No chocolate on it, though.

He eats Iams, 9oz/day. And the garbage when he can get to it. The little basard. Although it's pretty cool to have a pussy the size of my torso. ;-)

Kinbari, I have to smack you now. I was all set to post that paragraph. I, BTW am NOT a necrophiliac. But Dark Chocolate is best.

and to the person who said that special dark chocolate is the throwaway. *I* eat them first!

1. Cadbury dark chocolate bar, with a cup of coffee on the side.

2. plain m&m's, nuke in the microwave til they start to have cracks in them. mnnnnnnnnnn. melty.

I ejaculated the first time I ate a Reese's Fastbreak bar. Oh my theoretical god it's good.

No lie. Had to change my pants right there in the store. Luckily I was in the one convenience store that sells pants.

Zero bars were the best vomit-inducer my parents ever found. Three times my dad tried to feed me that vile confection sub-titled "The Candy Bar of Hollywood," and three times he got a grocery re-run out of me.

Who invented that log of evil? And why weren't they executed for it?
2004-08-18 04:25:41 AM
Can I be the only person who does not eat chocolate very often?

my last taste was during christmas and it was a peanut butter cup thing..... I do love Salted Nut Rolls.

Annettes, feel free to smack me! Special Dark lovers are into sadomasochism too so I'd probably like it. o_O

See's candy was the best thing I got for christmas when I was living in California. I made a habit of sending those tasty little butterscotch/chocolate/vanilla lollipop things back home to my siblings and nieces on the east coast.
Also digged those whack-em chocolate oranges/raspberry things. I'd get the dark ones because I know none of my friends would like them and swipe slices from me.

Oh and off-topic, yay for more creepy personals girls. Jeez.

Anybody remember these candy bars called "Cinnamon Danish"? I seem to recall they were made by Cadbury back in the 70's but I can't find any trace of them today.
2004-08-18 05:07:10 AM
Does anyone besides me remember Flicks, the big chocolate chip-like candies you got at the movies? They were in a foil-covered cardboard tube. I've never met anyone else who remembers them, not even the people who bought the damn things for me!

slow news day, innit?
2004-08-18 05:19:13 AM
Canadian Hershey, Canadian Hershey Dark, Canadian Hershey Cookies and Cream, then nothing American.

It's a sad state of affairs when America's best chocolate bar is not only inedible, but the version sold in Canada is not only better with better ingredients, but it's bigger and cheaper.

I always thought I hated chocolate bars until I moved to Canada. Then I just realised that I hated American chocolate. I'm gonna go have a Aero Chunky Caramel right now just to celebrate the fact that I can.

[image from too old to be available]

Ice cold bottled 3.25% milk straight out of the container and a Nestle Aero Caramel Chunky. Awwoh wih cahamuh! It doesn't get any better than that. I feel so sorry for all of you Europeans with your beet sugar, nonfat milk solid Cadbury, and all of the Americans with waxy, nasty chocolate. Canada and South Africa get it.

Chocolate Orange, anyone?
