Married to an identical twin. Nature's clones. Yeah, it's all good. Thank you, Nature.

I submitted this article with the exact same headline.

Unfreakable wins handily.

I agree with Doc Knock...

2004-08-14 05:02:30 PM
2 to 3 pounds each? I bet she didn't even need an aspirin to deliver them.

2004-08-14 05:03:07 PM
Unfreakable, that was great.

2004-08-14 05:05:12 PM
Wow! Time to buy a lottery ticket, eh?

2004-08-14 05:05:19 PM
I also have to side with Dr.Knockboots on this.

Well said Unfreakable.

293 other Americans will have what the article describes as a "one in a million" event happen to them today. i want to read all about their interesting lives too.

It's just not "amazing" anymore, with all the fertility drugs and aftificial insemination with mulitple embryos. This woman had artificial insemination to attain this "amazing" feat.

2004-08-14 05:08:50 PM
This seemed a lot cooler before they mentioned that she was implanted with the embryos. Come on, people, do you really need your own DNA offspring that badly?

2004-08-14 05:12:52 PM
They're taking over!

2004-08-14 05:12:58 PM
Quadruplets born two and a half months prematurely that are going to survive? I'd say that part is pretty amazing, artificial insemination or not.

2004-08-14 05:16:02 PM
Congratulations, parents! You are now officially in debt for the next 20 years.

/has nice things

Jebus, can you imagine if they all came out at the same time? I'll bet that would sting.

Not to take anything away from Unfreakable's great line, but I like nach's better.

Must have come shooting out of their like a Salad Shooter. Ka-pow, ka-pow, ka-pow, ka-pow.

They must be so proud of themselves, goddamn breeders.

Next weeks headline: Two sets of identical twins die one week after their birthday.

2004-08-14 05:32:01 PM
The Shoveler: did you get to sample the other one? Its the only way to be sure that they're really identical .

A friend of mine was telling me in her olden days in NY, there were twin girls who married twin guys. They had kids the same age, who were geneticly siblings to each other, not cousins.
Found out a few months ago my grandmother had stillborn twins. So does that mean twins DO run in the family??

I heard it skips a generation. I had 3 pregnancies, all singles. But should my childless (but married) brothers get prepared for the possibilty of twins??

just wonderin...

Not to take anything away from Unfreakable's great line, but I like nach's better.

nach is completely correct, assuming every single American is a female, and every single one gives birth every day.

Oh wait.

2004-08-14 05:37:43 PM
Yeah, someone spawned! Thank Christ because we don't have enough people here.

I'm puzzled - how is The Shoveler's post timestamped at 9:45 am, when he's not on totalfark?

World Population Clock (pops)

Amazing, babies are spitting out every second. World population = 6.4 Billion and counting.

2004-08-14 05:52:07 PM
A couple of years ago I was chatting with a woman at work who was several months pregnant. I asked when her baby was due, she said late July. I said "Well it would be funny if the baby was born July 24th, that's my birthday." She said "That's my husband's birthday." I said "What a coincidence. My wife's birthday is November 23rd. What's yours?" She said "November 23rd." I said "Well beat this. My older brother and my younger brother were both born August 26th, six years apart." She said "My father and his brother were both born August 26th, four years apart." It also turned out we had the same anniversary. I would have suggested we should have an affair except that she was fat, ugly, and very pregnant.

The article was greenlit early and he basically got to it first. I would wager that there are many more much more interesting links on TF, and this article was overlooked by many in favor of others.

2004-08-14 06:13:37 PM
And to top it off, she was chewing two sticks of doublemint gum when she delivered those babies!

2004-08-14 06:15:12 PM
Unfreakable is a forum god... but on another note... only thing to make this weirder is if the father was the mother's twin... and if they were identical.

Master Shake: "Do you know how many birthdays there are in a year? Hundreds. Literaly hundreds."

2004-08-14 06:49:14 PM
There is no wonder in it all. It's all science and bank loans.

The only guessing game left is what they named their spawn.

2004-08-14 06:51:43 PM
memebot_of_doom : Interesting link. FYI, according to that, we'll hit seven billion people on November 29, 2012 at 11:26:56 AM and eight billion people on March 15, 2029 at 1:47:30 PM. Kinda scary.

2004-08-14 06:54:12 PM
Please note that the article said that the chance of this happening wasnt 1 out of every million births, it was 1 in every million quadruplet births. Making it very, very, very rare.

2004-08-14 06:59:17 PM
Mirror?

/i got nothing

dg41, thank god someone else figured that out, too. it took awhile to get it precise. thank you for making me feel like less of a loser.

Car_Ramrod : No problem. Have to do SOMETHING to keep myself occupied until the Browns and Indians games come on. =)

What is scary about that? Have you seen all the fricken wilderness out there. Plenty of room, bing em on.

bing = bring

2004-08-14 07:53:10 PM
dg41 : So, why does it calculate that the population will start decreasing in the latter part of this century?

I can only tell you if you are a twin or the spouse of a twin.

2004-08-14 08:07:05 PM
Oh, and it turns out it was also on the identical twins birthday too. Amazing.... not.

It's just not "amazing" anymore, with all the fertility drugs and aftificial insemination with mulitple embryos. This woman had artificial insemination to attain this "amazing" feat.

Uh... multiple embryos won't produce identical twins. Identical twins are from one embryo splitting in two. At most, she had two developing embryos which BOTH split off into identical twins, which is STILL a very rare thing.

Identical twins != fertility drugs

2004-08-14 08:29:15 PM
Gohanmastaflex Identical twins != fertility drugs

fraternal twins = fertility drugs (more eggs released)

2004-08-14 09:13:39 PM
Oh, and nach, two sets of identical twins is not a 293-a-day occurence.

/amazed no one has pointed this out yet

2004-08-15 12:07:36 AM
This twin Farker sez: being an identical twin rocks. Until I got married, me and bro delivered those "twin fantasies" for the ladies a long time.

This twin Farker sez: being an identical twin rocks. Until I got married, me and bro delivered those "twin fantasies" for the ladies a long time.

So, what you're saying is:

"I like to watch my brother fark the same woman I am farking."

Sounds kida gay, in an incestuous sort of way.

/just sayin'

2004-08-15 12:53:45 AM
I have boy/girl twins and so does my sister, and their birthdays are 4 days apart... no fertility drugs involved, no kidding

2004-08-15 12:56:42 AM
FYI - "Dr. Andrew Gerson, who delivered the babies, put the odds of such an occurrence at about one in 1 million quadruplet births."

By my math...frat twins...quads...carry the 3...this woman gave birth to 48 children today.
