Democratic Underground

The only place on the internet were socialists and liberals call each other racists and believe one is more conservative then the other.

What they do not understand is that they are all bigots.

2002-01-30 09:14:01 PM
Seriously, I think Bush should have some fun in office. He should give a State of the Onion address.
"The onion is starting to go bad. Thank you."

Mr. Speaker, Vice President Cheney, members of Congress,
distinguished guests, fellow citizens:

Translation: Rich People.

Drew can we post topics from Free Republic as content or news?

2002-01-30 09:23:14 PM
Methinks we're letting that "Best Political Blog" award go to our head.

The guy didn't say anything.

2002-01-30 09:24:19 PM
Hehe, "Shrub."

I'm left leaning and I hate Bush as much as the next guy, but this writer is an idiot. He is just whining and trying to make witty comments. The only funny part, as I said earlier, is that he calls Bush "Shrub."

Damn way leftist/socialists.

I think the Admins oughtta move this link down next to the Newsmax link and see if they can make it rain on the homepage.

*Hums the song 'Too much time on my hands'*

I love the way they cite no source to any of the accusations.

2002-01-30 09:27:47 PM
SG -

there's never a source. It's politics.

2002-01-30 09:28:34 PM
Hmm, the tree hugging hippie actually praises Teddy Roosevelt? I'm jealous, those hippies get all the good drugs.

2002-01-30 09:28:58 PM
Since Quick1 isnt here yet...

this should be good *grabs popcorn*

2002-01-30 09:29:26 PM
Uh... this is just stupid. Why not just post some of the flame wars that start up in these gallaries? Kudos to Jebediah calling a horse a horse.

2002-01-30 09:34:20 PM
Democratic Underground again? Get your asbestos suits on kids, the flame wars are about to begin!

Kerouac
You're right. What was I thinking?

I'm sure the predictions for a flamewar are correct.

Let's grab a seat beside Robin and get in on the popcorn action.

A friend of mine has press credentials for this, hope he doesn't get caught in any crossfire--not thinking NYPD is going to be feeling especially tolerant towards this crew. Could get ugly pretty fast...

2002-01-30 09:37:00 PM
What is Democrat Party offering to Americans but finger pointing and name calling? For the last month its been Republican Enron scandal this and Republican Bush insider that. Finally, after the media repeats the Democrat mantra for weeks, we find out half the Democrat Party was hottubbing and golfing with Ken Lay and buying Enron powerplants in India. Not to mentioned the #1 guy on the attack, the DNC chairman, screwed 18 million dollars out of the corpse of the dot bomb Global Crossing -- 4th worst bankruptsy in history.

This type of politics didn't work for Republican Party and it isn't going to work for the Democrat Party.

2002-01-30 09:37:22 PM
Wow... Damn bleeding-heart liberals. Yes, Bush is hardly the brightest president we've ever had by a long shot. Yes, his domestic affairs could probably be handled better. But this is just ridiculous; the writer of this article isn't funny (except for the Shrub bit, which is pretty good), he's just trying wayyy too hard.

2002-01-30 09:38:23 PM
Democratic Underground articles are a blast to read, but the author really needs to cite some sources for his accusations. I'm all for being way-left, but if you're going to use vehement, baseless plays on emotion (primarily anger and fear) to get your point across, you're no better than Dubya & Co.

2002-01-30 09:40:31 PM
What a coward.. the pseudonym forces me to ask the like.

2002-01-30 09:41:36 PM
DOH! Wrong post. Apologies...

WARNING: Annotated by a monkey!

2002-01-30 09:46:17 PM
I believe Molly Ivins coined the term "Shrub" in one of her books, so this writer can't even take credit for that little bit of humor. There were some decent points made, but overall it was tired and nitpicky. All it takes is one dumbass writer that identifies himself with the left and it's like dumping chum into the conservative shark pool.

Mrverbal: I'm revelling in the irony of your calling someone a coward for speaking his mind under a pseudonym.

2002-01-30 09:46:17 PM
Shouldn't you all be marching off to join the Freedom Corps or whatever it was called? Or join the one Clinton created? Maybe someday the two Corps could have teams which could compete against each other on Family Feud........

This same old rehashed political debate is just not funny anymore.

2002-01-30 09:47:33 PM
Hey, back off Hoosier. 09:46:17 was supposed to be MY second! ;)

2002-01-30 09:52:58 PM
Why does stupid stuff like this get posted? It's obvious he is stupid, we don't need you to point it out 50 times making yourself look like him.

2002-01-30 09:59:39 PM
I'm not even sure there's gonna be a flame war here. Can't see how anyone could read that drivel and go "hell yeah."

Then again, i never could have imagined people defending a State of the Union address, either.

I stand by my statement of last night - anyone who has to compare Bush to Clinton, in any kind of light, is only admitting that they both suck large.

2002-01-30 10:00:12 PM
What? You mean his speeches aren't genuine sentiment? I'm shocked!

2002-01-30 10:02:00 PM
Hey Mods... I wasn't being serious... that was is in reference to a couple of posts a ways up in this thread... just so you don't think I'm a creep.

2002-01-30 10:02:41 PM
ah, shrub is an idiot, admit it

2002-01-30 10:07:09 PM

I suppose if you don't get your way on your tax giveaway for the affluent, the terrorists win.

I think he reads Fark.

political arguments always make my balls itch

2002-01-30 10:16:17 PM
Um Verbal's Cousin? Teddy was like the first liberal...

3Horn

2002-01-30 10:21:13 PM
Note to leftists:

Calling the president "Shrub" makes you sound as intelligent as the people who called the last president "Billary".

Thank you, and have a lovely day.

2002-01-30 10:23:16 PM
Kapital, I just call him Duh-bya...

By the way, what the hell was up with "Algore"? I never understood that one.

3Horn

2002-01-30 10:25:09 PM
Let the lefties have their fun.

I still find Al Bore to be quite amusing.

2002-01-30 10:25:11 PM
3horn I believe that began with Limbaugh. Something about the way he pronounced it sounded like he was saying 'igor'.

Then again, he's about as unbiased as the source for this link.

2002-01-30 10:27:55 PM
I think Libaugh used "algore" in all his books. Note that it's not capitalized.

I used to get a lot of junk mail from a company called algor. Oh those were precious memories......

2002-01-30 10:28:34 PM
actually kapital, they play on different words, billary was stupid because it joined 2 names. shrub is stupid also, but amusing..
better than calling him a farking drunk asshole that can't put a sentence together to save his life (or for that matter, that can't figure out how to eat a pretzel)

2002-01-30 10:29:50 PM
That was quite amusing. I chortled.

2002-01-30 10:30:29 PM
Call him anything you like. Just don't call him Clinton. Them's fighten wurds......

2002-01-30 10:32:07 PM
Thermos is right. "Shrub" is funny, but stupid funny. I don't think I'm too good to laugh at stupid funny stuff. This girl I know calls a guy named "Stu," "Thick Soup." It's pun humor. Puns are easy and fun.

2002-01-30 10:35:14 PM
I had a roomate in college named Jose.

One weird guy would always call him "hose B".

2002-01-30 10:35:58 PM
This guy has gone so far to the left, he's actually gone full circle and is coming at you from the right.

Nice to know that we're bound by political-party dogma ...

one word: Yarf

2002-01-30 10:36:23 PM
damn you brackets, damn you to hell

2002-01-30 10:36:59 PM
Hoosier: See, that is funny.
