I think this is in fact a repeat. It's a pretty fun game, though. Er, for a while. I miss the arcade version, to be honest. I like throwing disks at all those spiders.

Better graphics and AI, but harder to control and has irritating music. I preferred the one from this morning.

How many people are running Linux? Anyone? Anyone?
2002-01-26 12:06:12 PM
I am! I am! Of course, I'm running linux as my proxy server, web server, and general Unix dev box, not to play tron on. That being said, I've got the GeForce in the windows box, shame on me! :)

I'm still addicted to GLTRON.

Had it for a year or so....

I install it on friend's machines for them to discover....

Music sucks, though. I just turn it off and play an mp3 over it. I would reccomend Autechre - BCDTMX. Fits really we..

I think this is in fact a repeat.

It is... went through the whole slashdot/metafilter/fark link cycle about six months ago.

Good game!

Now really, do you actually have to *ask* if I use Linux?

My 1982 stand up coin-up TRON game is more fun.

the best was TRON on the commodore 64
2002-01-26 04:10:22 PM
No, the best TRON videogame was the original arcade version I mentioned above. You had the MCP cone, the tanks, the grid bugs, and of course, the lightcycles.

Athlon 700, geforce 2.. it runs pathetically slow.. even at 640x480 it can barely hit 5 fps... is it supposed to be slow like that?

Wildtangent (the people that make those winamp plugin games) has a bunch of new games out that aren't bad at all-- Demos are available on the site. I really like SabreWing2-- if anybody finds a registration key for it, please let me know ;)

I run Linux. In fact of my 5 computers only one runs window, and it's on a dual boot. The linux version of this game gets better framerates on my box.

This game is very fun and addictive. It's worse than SFCave ;)

Praetorian: I don't know, but that is some old equipment you have there. . .

Personally, I liked disks of Tron better than the original arcade game.
