It's about damn time. Sledgehammer kicked ass.

2004-07-27 01:06:22 AM
About time some of the cool stuff like Sledge Hammer and SCTV made it to DVD. Better than the dreck broadcast these days.

2004-07-27 01:37:33 AM
Then we're all agreed. Sledge kicked ass!

2004-07-27 01:41:20 AM
No he didn't.

2004-07-27 01:59:50 AM
Trust him. He knows what he's doing.

2004-07-27 02:04:38 AM
Yes he did. (adjusting to the IQ level of Fark)

2004-07-27 02:07:11 AM
Sledgehammer rocked! Who else kept a farking bazooka in their trunk?

2004-07-27 02:26:38 AM
Nice. Now what about Police Squad?

2004-07-27 03:05:26 AM
Man I loved that show as a youngin'.

2004-07-27 03:38:28 AM
I'll second Coleslaw's vote for Police Squad... heck, they could fit the entire series on a single DVD, there was only 6 episodes...

2004-07-27 03:44:41 AM
My Dad has all the episodes of police Squad on VHS.

And I still want a spice rack like Sledge's.

2004-07-27 07:09:53 AM
I've tried to find this so many times to download... no luck.

2004-07-27 08:25:25 AM
Groovy! My VHS copy is wearing out!

2004-07-27 08:27:00 AM
The clearest memory of that show was when he put the Loudener on his gun.

That show ruled.

2004-07-27 08:27:01 AM
Another vote for Police Squad.

I liked Sledge Hammer, too.

Gavino
Yes he did. (adjusting to the IQ level of Fark)

Gone up a few points then?

Sledgehammer was fantastic. Of course it was only shown at about 2am here in the UK... But sleep is for people who don't work in IT!

Where's my Max Headroom box set already?

2004-07-27 08:33:09 AM
Wow, I forgot about this show. Nice to hear we'll be able to watch it again.

2004-07-27 08:34:25 AM
This rules.

2004-07-27 08:36:32 AM
"Thank God you followed me here."

"Don't thank God, thank gun."

2004-07-27 08:37:39 AM
Now I can finally show the wife that there really is a basis for me occasionally mumbling "I do Elvis more efficiently" or "I am the most efficient Elvis impersonator who ever lived!". A basis grounded in a really old TV show, but good enough for this loser.

2004-07-27 08:39:06 AM
Excellent! I loved that show.

2004-07-27 08:42:13 AM
Any show about a man who showers with his gun is a show that everybody needs to see. Trust me, I know what I'm doing... and saying.

Buy the DVD.

2004-07-27 08:44:11 AM
What a classic series. How many shows end a season with a nuclear explosion?

2004-07-27 08:44:21 AM
Awesome! It's funny how you forget about things that were such a weekly event in your life. RTFA - Today!?!? I'm off to Best Buy after work!

2004-07-27 08:47:50 AM
Peter Gabriel surrenders?

2004-07-27 08:50:20 AM
Never heard of it. What's it about?

2004-07-27 08:51:22 AM
Awesome! I seriously thought this show would never make it to dvd.

All that's left now is Max Headroom and Bakshi's New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, and I'll be very, very happy.

2004-07-27 08:53:12 AM
So where is MIAMI VICE?! ... or am I just old?

2004-07-27 08:55:15 AM
Dori Dorito...or something similar was the female sidekick's name as far as my memory stretches back 20 years or so.
Loved the silk pillow he used to put the gun on at night.

2004-07-27 08:57:48 AM
So what happened in the series after that huge cliffhanger? Was that how the series ended, or were there more episodes that I missed?

2004-07-27 08:58:22 AM
LaughingGremlin

It was Darot. Pronounced Da-row. She was hot. My favorite episode was the saxophone one. Who'd have thought that you could use a sax to torture someone.

"Every breathe you take, every move you make, I'll be watching you. That's Police talk."

2004-07-27 09:01:07 AM
Righteous.

2004-07-27 09:01:25 AM
I plan on picking it up today.

"The Commish" is coming out in November. Yes!

Hunter was a much better show.

2004-07-27 09:02:33 AM
I now have a reason to get out of bed today!

You've got to love a show where the guy puts a loudener on his gun and the first season ends with a nuclear explosion.

A little trivia. The reason they ended the show with a nuke was because they knew the show was bad and they never expected it to become popular enough to warrant the second season. That's why they had to go back in time five years for the next season.

My computer teacher in elemtary school claimed to be David Rasches roomate in college.

eddyatwork

Thanks for the explanation. I was a bit young back then and couldn't remember what happened.

2004-07-27 09:04:59 AM
elemtary = elementary

/don't know who my english teachers roomy was :(

2004-07-27 09:05:11 AM
Complete and utter awesomeness!!!

I agree with those who are waiting on the Max Headroom series as well.

2004-07-27 09:06:33 AM
moneche:

There's a guy on ebay with all 100+ episodes of MIAMI VICE, including the 2-hour episodes.

I have two of the HAMMER episodes, I especially like the one where someone is killing all the Elvis impersonators.

Fair enough, I am suprised I even remembered without googling. I don't remember any specific story lines actually, just that I loved it when I was in Primary school, and my father thought it was hilarious.

Dish

At the end of the first season, there was a nuclear explosion that killed everybody. Had that been the end, this show would have been awesome. But no, it went on to do another season, this one taking place before the first season. Kinda like a A New Hope/Phantom Menace thing. Because of that schlock, the show went from awesome to merely really good.

2004-07-27 09:07:24 AM
Excellent! I loved this as a child. He went through every episode like a coked-up Rambo in a cheap suit, eyes wide and nostrils flaring, itching to shoot something. Not sure what that says about me as a child, but it was hilarious nonetheless!

2004-07-27 09:11:10 AM
This is friggin' awesome. I also remember that the show had the coolest theme song ever. Anyone have a link to it?

2004-07-27 09:14:06 AM
It's a good thing. Somehow I can't imagine "Who Wants to Marry a Midget" coming out on whatever replaces DVD 20 years from now.

/hatin' on current TV crapulence
