good thing they didn't tip him off by, say, giving an interview on his impending arrest.

What does Norwegian law do to pot growers?

Are they disembowelled?

Nice touch at the end of the story saying that they have no more suspects...

Trying to look that up. Given that it's scandinavia, they'll probably just take the crops and maybe give a small fine. However, Norway's the most conservative of the scandinavian countries (though still liberal compared to everywhere else), I couldn't guess.

Thank you, Fark! I'll be extending my holiday. I hear Spain is pretty lax on extradition.

My friend John Ashcroft is here sitting next to me, and boy is he mad! He'd be typing himself but right now his head is tilted back, his jaw is open, his eyes are rolled back in his head, and he's shaking and gurgling... Before this all started he did choke out some comments though:
"gaa... demon... weed... gurg..."
"urp... must... ga... raid... holiday... inn... no.. waiting... kill... criminal... destroy... society... garga.."

I think he means the cops shouldn't wait around for the guy to finish his vacation as obviously the guy is one of the most sinister forces to ever be seen on this planet. He's told me about this before when we're snuggling in bed together. He makes it sound like Dragonball Z with him as a pumped up hero using badass superpowers to beat down all the evil enemies like drug dealers and people who like to dance.

Since this site is intermittenly farked, here's the story.

Police find a surprise at small farm

Police headed out to a small farm near the Swedish border last weekend to investigate a reported break-in. Instead, they found around 3,000 marijuana plants, most of them inside the farm's greenhouse.

A man in his 30s owns the farm, but relatives told police he's away on summer holiday. He'll likely get quite a surprise himself when he comes home.

Police have a few questions. Around 1,500 plants were found in a greenhouse while another 1,500 were found elsewhere around the property.

"We don't think we'll find anymore," Stein Robin Berg of the sheriff's office in Eidskog told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

Police have no other suspects in the case.

Yeah, there's not a lot to it.

By intermittenly, I mean intermittently.

I can spel, I swair.

He-he! It happened last week here in my home town too. The police were called to a 5 bedroomed house, in a very nice part of town, after neighbours became concerned about the number of people visitng the property late at night. They found shiat loads of weed plants in every single room, they reckon it was worth about 1 million pounds in street value (although i've always wondered how they figure that out). Apparently the guy they got for it told them he was watching the house for someone else, wouldn't say who though! The bit that really made me laugh was when the reporter spoke to one of the neighbours and they said..."we thought there was a funny smell coming from their house but you don't like to say anything do you"?!

3000+ plants?? You deserve jail you greedy idiot! Keep it small and keep it personal. Problem solved.

2004-07-23 10:10:13 AM
Who the hell first decided to make pot illegal?

I mean, come on, America I can see, what with the conservatives and religious penetration. Where the hell did common sense go?

/This one goes on the "why governments are bad" column of the scorecard.

2004-07-23 10:10:16 AM
Yeah so I doubt this guy will ever return to his farm after summer. Its times like this you have to ask yourself... Why the hell is pot still illegal!

2004-07-23 10:10:26 AM
mr_bunny:
I've been asked by 2 different neighbors to take down my Amarillo and Cascades because "this is a family neighborhood and that stuff's illegal."

Maybe I'm just desensitized, but I don't see how anyone can confuse the two.

2004-07-23 10:10:54 AM
Don't they have a very liberal laws regarding pot in Norway?
"That'll be 10 Kroners and no Jarlsberg for 30 days"

2004-07-23 10:13:50 AM
Last year some guys started a huge hydroponic factory in an empty warehouse they bought on the seedy side of town. All was going well until they installed surveillance cameras every 10 feet all around the outside of the building.

Now they have no plants and no warehouse, but they get free housing, 3 meals a day, and time to exercise in the yard.

DrZombie, i believe it was one of the old heads of the CIA or some similar american security department. He had a real gripe with potheads for some reason and campaigned for it to be made illegal. Once he had achieved this he began to lobby other governments for their support and to have them ban it too.
I admit that's a very brief version of events, and i'm sorry i can't remember the guys name, but it was basically all down to one guy to begin with. He was pretty successful as you can see!

codemonkey

yeah, i don't get it either.
while they share some common traits
the plants are dissimilar enough
that you would think folks could
tell the difference.

but dumbass neighbors are one thing,
fort worth's finest are quite another.
they were Cascades also btw.

mmmmm. homebrew.

Thanks for the info! I really just wanted a general idea of where this all came from. I myself, am not a pot smoker, but banning it is incredibly stupid, not to mention a huge waste of money in the fight against marijuana and the imprisoning of non-violent offenders for marijuana posession (not so much anymore).

Back in the day when I used to party, My neighbor used to grow a couple of plants every year.. We would have enough bud for the entire year, and whole buckets full of leaves.. (Which were quite potent if I remember correctly) I can't imagine having that many plants..

So, your position is that one dude, for vague personal reasons, convinced nearly every country in the world to criminalize a plant/drug and spend untold billions on enforcing it, and they all complied.

Dude, set the pipe down for a few minutes. Get off the couch and go outside. Breathe the air, look at the trees.

"Keep it small and keep it personal. Problem solved."

but, that only solves HIS problem... anyone else looking for a bag is screwed.

/nice idea. not all that logical.
(but seriously.... to grow GOOD weed it takes time, dedication, money AND space. its not logical to think that everyone can just grow their own)

There are soooo many theories about pot's bannination from society that it boggles even a, ahem, clear mind. One theory is that in Texas cannibis was made illegal to help control the mexican immigrant population, since it was popular with them. At one time in Texas you could really get LIFE in prison for having a seed. 1 seed. not 2, 1.
Then there is the DuPont/Hearst crowd. then the black jazz will ruin the white women crowd.
Then there are people who pull theories straight out of there ass. I love those the best.

/better Wescoe?

2004-07-23 10:28:32 AM
At the end of prohibition they needed something for the G men to do. Also, the Petro Chem guys lobbied for Pot bieng made illegal because the weed seed has a lot of potential for making plastics and other things that compeat with the Petro Chem guys market. Rockefeller or whatever his name was wins. We lose. Money talks pot heads squawk

c'mon pot is used as a garinsh in scandanavia

2004-07-23 10:32:56 AM
anyone else looking for a bag is screwed.
Yeah, but 3000+ plants is supplying bags to a couple thousand "anyone elses". I don't mean 2 plants in your closet, I mean a setup and cycle thats realistic. No need to try and become the Scarface of canabis. Always ends the same way (except for the Columbian kill squad showing up).

Even if you can conceal the grow, moving that much product is just asking for trouble. It's better to have many small local growers than one or two industrial complex growers. Expecially for the average guy looking for a few grams a week.

2004-07-23 10:33:06 AM

Thanks, mr_bunny. I was wondering who to blame for brittney spears, courtney love, paris hilton, et al. Now I know- it was that damn Miles Davis.
