Two damned prudes get a law passed in a few days while important legislation sits. Gotta give it to lawmakers.

Well, as we all know, small children should never see exposed female breasts as it might be damaging to their health. Well, except for the reason females have breasts in the first place.

I wish that clicking on the tag would reveal who submitted the article. Submitter has a sense of humor that I don't grok.

Hahaha the two prudes were attacked. By topless girls. Sounds like a porno plot.

Anyway I've always made it my personal policy to not start shiat with people whose arse I couldn't whup.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

I'm sure with the mosquitoes they have there, that nude canoeing is a problem. Or, kayaking for that matter

Damn! I went on a float trip on the Current river in SE MO last weekend and wished nude canoeing/floating was ENCOURAGED.

Mmmm, beer, hot chicks, 58F spring water.

"Does it really all shrivel up when the water is cold?"

Canoeing/floating on the Ozark Senic Riverways, awesome way to spend the day.

This is totally kickass!

Not because of the Nudity but because This happened in My Home County and my mom is McDonald County Deputy 29.

Anyways let me explain, Some rowdy drunken girls got in a fight with a land owner and her children over exposing themselives. She got assaulted......Bad news for the guy assaulting her, the Sheriff's wife was there.

But it makes sense really. Children are all along down that creek. Children, Teenagers and Lots and Lots of Southern Baptists.

We are supposed to tolerate different view points/religion/skin color/beliefs/politics/hairstyles/etc/etc....

then WHY NOT NUDITY!!!!!

/I tolerated lots of bad nudity while in Europe only because it eventually lead to GOOD nudity. And sometimes GREAT nudity.
//I can put up with 100 bad nudes for a single THANK GOD SHE'S NUDE!!!

Is nudity not illegal to begin with (in public)? Why the specific law? That's ridiculous.

Fire these people. Now :)

Elk river? I've been on a lot of rivers in Missouri, but I've not heard of that one.

Well, none of the rivers here are really deep enough for kayaking.

HA. Our annual float trip is July 29th. I've floated the Elk and have seen nekkid canoers. Not a pretty site.

2004-07-16 09:22:43 AM
First no glass on the river, and now, no ass on the river.

The Elk river is more isolated and family oriented.. I like it. After just floating on the craptacular Niaguna river, i will go back to the Elk. Sure I saw boobies on the Niaguna, but if i want boobies, i will go to Party Cove at the Ozarks. Floating (canoeing) has always been more of a family thing, ie cheap way to get your kids out on the water and woods.
I applaud this effort, but hope it just stops there.

I'll be canoeing Elk River in McDonald county tommorrow. I guess I might as well leave those strings of beads I was planning on taking with me at home after all.

"The county prosecutor and the commissioners had been discussing an ordinance banning nudity on the river for several weeks."

so...

this had been a problem before? sounds like an epidemic.

I've got a fever and the only thing that can cure it..is more naked canoers.

/need to go to MO

"The county prosecutor and the commissioners had been discussing an ordinance banning nudity on the river for several weeks."
More likely they've been studying the problem from behind some bushes with binoculars.

You know, for having been born and raised in the "Show-Me State," I sure as hell missed out on most of the public display of [image from img.fark.com too old to be available].

Alphax-
Plenty of kayakable rivers here, you just have to know where to look. My SO is a pretty competent kayaker, she says it's not great but it's doable. Much like the climbing you just have to get creative to make it a challenge.

Notice it said nudity banned ON county waters, not IN county waters? Guess skinny dipping is still kosher.

Oh yeah. Spiffy?
