Who wants to eat Hilary's cookies, anyway?

Hilary, you're so ugly, we could roll your face into dough and make ugly cookies.

I don't think Hillary has any problem with baking cookies. As long as
you get your flour by standing in line for a government handout
program. We wouldn't want capitalism and choice to get in the way of
cookie baking.

If she paid me well enough , I'd munch on her cookie.

Is the Clinton 'butterface' gene in the recipe?

Yeah, why *don't* we get more Family Circle links here on Fark?
2004-07-11 04:30:28 PM
Meh. Women have just as much right to be liberal whackjobs and neoconservative fascists as men do.

ScubaDoo: "If she paid me well enough , I'd munch on her cookie."

Not enough money in the universe.

I like what Germaine Greer said about her...quoting from memory, so no guarantee this is verbatim, but it is very close: "What I like about Hillary is that she has a big wide ass that's low to the ground and there's not a damn thing she can do about it.

You've heard of "Toll House" cookies?

Laura Bush has her own recipe called "Death Toll" cookies.

First you knead the dough while running a stop sign at 55 mph...

Excuse me, there's a knock at my door...

Recipe for Aunt Bev's Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
1 box yellow cake mix
3 eggs
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 package semisweet chocolate chips
3 tbs. water

Mix this stuff up in a bowl. Spoon onto cookie sheets. Bake for about 10-15 minutes. Makes wonderfully soft, tasty cookies. This recipe rules.

Who says careerwomen can't make kick-ass cookies?
2004-07-11 04:41:46 PM
Did any of you RTFA? Or are you too busy bashing Senator Clinton to notice that it was only tangentially about her?

I personally thought the analogy between cookie recipes and political presence was interesting, if perhaps somewhat of a stretch. Then again, article writers for magazines do tend to go over the top with their metaphors, I've noticed.
2004-07-11 04:43:59 PM
This Family Circle thing will be more interesting when Hillary actually does make the first female run at the presidency... Then we'd get to read Bill's take on how to bake a cookie. For those who can't wait for the recipe, here is what I'm betting on:

Bill Clinton's favorite cookie recipe

One female intern with car

Send female intern with car to grocery with $5. Instruct her to pick up one bag of Double-stuffed Oreos, keeping change for gas money. Have intercourse with intern upon her return. Serves one.
2004-07-11 04:45:09 PM
Oh "Senator Clinton" how proper and respectful.
2004-07-11 04:57:24 PM
ekolmus: Do you GTFI about what Fark is about?

Or are you too busy reflexively defending the senator?

When I read the submitter's headline, I thought this was going to be about the vast right wing conspiracy.

Then I read the comments and was not disappointed.

It fascinates me how little the hate for Hillary has to do with anything resembling a policy decision, actually cited or quoted (not just name calling "liberal" or references to unspecified deeds), and how much it has to do with Rush Limbaugh level personal attack.

Carry on kids.

Generation D:
I hate her for socialized medicine too.

What I read of the article was off-base. Putting down women who aren't like her was her sin, not failing to bake for her family.
2004-07-11 05:41:48 PM
So what? That'd be about 4 first ladies? Not exactly a huge number.
2004-07-11 05:51:58 PM
Er...since 1992, we've only had 1 1st lady - Hillary Clinton. We have an acting one in Jean Hastert, but does that count?

That said, the article sucks in not ACTUALLY SHOWING THE DAMN RECIPES. Cause frankly, I wanna make some cookes.
2004-07-11 06:18:55 PM
Generation_D. Exactly.

Tribal conflicts are so fascinating. Especially when powerful "totems" are involved, like Hillary. The Conservative Tribe is absolutely obsessed with her as the evil avatar of the Liberals. which is ironic, since while the Liberal Tribe likes Hillary, they do not consider her their champion.

As for chocolate chip cookie recipes, they abound. Just remember this: do not, under any circumstances, EVER use "Milk Chocolate" chips. They are utter, irredeemable rubbish. Only dark chocolate, or semi-sweet, is acceptable.
2004-07-11 07:04:13 PM
ZAZ - "What I read of the article was off-base. Putting down women who aren't like her was her sin, not failing to bake for her family."

--- Actually, no, the context of that Clinton "stayed home and baked cookies" quotation was a defense against accusations that Hillary used her husbands position as Governor of Arkansas to cement some of her law practice deals. It wasnt the best retort ever, but it was certainly not an attack against women who stayed at home, like the media tried to spin it out to be.

Funny enough, subsequent disparaging comments against Hilarys femininity by Republicans actually HELPED Clinton to appear more sympathetic. Source: Jameison, Beyond the Double Bind.

HAHA... that reminds me of a comment that some farker made about how they would "only vote for a president whose wife had killed a man."

But I'm sure Heinz Kerry has a few bodies in her closet too... after all, you don't get to be a ketchup empire without breaking a few tomatoes.
2004-07-11 07:39:25 PM
Stay home to bake cookie? WTF??? Hillary Clinton is so stupid. It's such a stupid comment. It's a stupid comment from a stupid person. Stupid. Just stupid. Man is she stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. How could anyone vote for her to be his sentor? I mean, she is just so stupid, and stupid comments like this show how truly stupid she is. Just flat out stupid.
2004-07-11 07:51:13 PM
Hillary, I'm afraid we will have to take your cookies away, for the greater good.

Hillary = [image from too old to be available]

Well, almost. She should've given those tubby stay-at-homes at Family Circle $3.45 and directions to the supermarket.

This is so sexist.

I make Barbara Bush, chocolate chip cookies, for my friends and family. They are the bomb! If you're feeling adventurous, add about 8oz of bourbon to the recipe. Hello!

/people beg for those cookies!

//Babs is a baking godess!

Sir Edmumnd Hillary?
2004-07-11 10:12:10 PM
Who actually bothers to bake cookie the dough anymore anyways?
2004-07-11 11:22:51 PM
We made Heinz-Kerry's pumpkin spice cookies, substituting pecans for walnuts. Lemme tell you, every cookie should have pumpkin in it. Like silk.
Laura Bush's recipe is for "Chunky chocolate chip" cookies, and one of the ingredients is sour, presumably unripe, cherries. Doesn't sound appetizing. Or is that another way to say dried cherries?
And just to bring Hillary into this just because everyone else has done so, I think Heinz-Kerry is much more the traditional housewife than Hillary is, if that's what the country wants. She didn't build a law practice, she raised children. I don't think most give a damn either way though. I don't, really.

It takes a village to bake a cookie.
2004-07-12 10:28:21 AM
First, let me say I'm not a fan of Hillary by any stretch of the imagination.

However, I did try her cookie recipe, and it was awesome. Unfortunately, I've lost it in the ensuing years and really wish I had it back. Never told anyone it was Hillary's recipe, mind you, but they really were good.
