No No no. Lincoln was the last name of the secratery for John F. Kerry.

Actually it was Frances McDormand who was the talking donkey in Gov't Mule

Yes! with Maurice Chevalier singing "Mimi." I remember it well.

Lets see....200k for a lunch with stuffy, old white guy, or 200 $1,000 hookers? Hmmmmm.....

Let me give you a lesson in fiduciary responsibility. As much of a good thing as 200 $1,000 dollar hookers sounds, compare that to 200,000 $1 hookers. A veritable army of diseased whores. Thus endeth the lesson.

Dr Toast you magnificent bastard!

/btw - Berkshire B shares are 1/30 of an A share. Didn't Adam Smith play a doctor on Lost in Space?

I'd rather have 5 $40,000 hookers. But I'm all about quality, not quantity.

After exhaustive research I have found that the real source of the the Buffet fortune is a joint venture between Warren and Jimmy called "Old Country Buffet". Thats those restaurants at major intersections that have a little gift shop as well.

2004-07-09 03:51:32 PM
okay let's see if I got this straight:
Warren Buffet was the qb for the oilers who was married to Shirly Mclaine who played that stewardess of Airplane who in a previous life was Thurgood Marshall the guy who sings that "bad to the bone song" and was marrried to Julia Roberts who was Dwight Yoakums love child with Yoko Ono, who as everyone knows shot Lincoln on the steps to the Dakota....

Close.

Karl Malden was an interior lineman for the Lions, back in the early 70's.

Shirley Winters later married Shecky Green. Mrs. Winters-Green was later featured as a spokemodel for LifeSavers.

Even before looking at the article I thought to myself "Hey, isn't that about 2 shares of Berkshire?"

A vote for me is a vote for adding voting to every thread.

I'm pretty sure Shirley Jones is the lead singer of Garbage. And Shirley Booth is the lady that shot Lincoln.

Are you sure that Shirley Jones is in Garbage? I thought that was Marilyn Manson. Who, oddly enough, played the daughter on "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper."

You should see the way he dresses, and his home is extraordinarily modest

I can only assume you're talking about his "residence" in Omaha. I suggest you come out to this neck of the beach and get a gander of his place in Laguna.

/still modest by his means, but you get my point

No, that was the rarely used Shecky Hudson. Moe, Larry, and Curly Hudson later had sons that had their own Saturday morning variety program. They were teh funny, as I remember with the perfect clarity of my memories.

Mac's new album

McAnally writes some of Buffett's music, if you like Buffett's slower stuff, like "changing channels" and "when the coast is clear" you may like this too.

Mac is the nicest person in the world. No, I'm not just saying that, either. I don't think I know anyone who is a nicer human being. I aspire to be that way, but I just cannot pull it off. We have tried to get Mac to say a crappy word about anyone and you just cannot do it.
I wish I could take a pill to get that happy happy peaceful mood he stays in.

When the band had that bobble a few years back when Fingers left, it was funny to get the story from Fingers and then from Mac. It was the same event, but one went something like this:

"well, Jimmy has a point, and running the band is really stressful, and distractions backstage do sort of detract from prepping for the show. I'm sure it will all work out when we get some rest bla bla"

and the other was more like

"beep beeeeep beep beeeeeeeep mother farking beeep beeep cockbeep beep tell me I can't beeeeeep he can beeep beeeeep that son of a bbeeeeeeeep"

I got some intermediate mixdowns of some Mac stuff recorded at his house, drop me an email if you want.

On topic,if I had 200K to spend on lunch with Warren Buffett, I'd pay off my dang bills instead, buy a Porsche, go back to New Zealand for a month, and still have enough to go to Rio for Carnivale. No meet-and-greet can be worth that.

Oh, sorry my earlier post was awfully ambiguous. Fingers spins up really easily and he has the most artful cursing I have ever heard, never repeats himself and can go on for quite a while. He ended up leaving the Reefers over "the incident"

2004-07-09 05:56:25 PM
200K - 8 executives from an investment house - a confab with Buffet and a sweet tax writeoff. Plus, Glide gets a honkin' big contribution. Glide's a good organization.

Buffet gets to be a mensch. 8 executives get a story that will help them get free drinks and some yuppie action in the bar. Glide gets to feed the vagrants...homeless in San Francisco. A steak house gets some good PR. EBay gets whatever commission they get for a large transaction. (I'm an eBay stock holder.) Everyone wins!
