Maybe. But I thought Isaiah Thomas got in trouble for that whole scandal on Capitol Hill involving Anita Hill and Red Lobster. Hmm

Sorry but I know for a fact that Gary Coleman played on "How's the boss". Your thinking of Emmanual Daye Luise who also played on "Webster" with Jack Karras who played quarterback for the Oilers and the Buffalo Bills and later became a us senator who sponsored a hemp bill.

From a Jimmy Buffet FAQ:

Jimmy is a distant cousin of multi-millionaire Warren Buffett, whom he
affectionately calls "Uncle Warren".

The maid on McMillan and Wife was played by Ann B Davids. She was also the mother of David Cassidy who played on the TV series "Welcome Back Carter". Which was set in Alabama, ( home of Jimmy Carter) and also Jimmy and Warren Buffet

I live in Omaha. I walked into a burger joint called Burger Lust (no kidding) looked to my right and there was Warren Buffet eating a burger. I didn't say anything to him, but had I known that to bask in his glow cost $200k, I would have had a seat for free.

In any case, Buffett's company, Brookshire Callaway makes some terrific drivers. Personally, I own a "Large Ethel" model myself. I think young Jerry Garcia used one at the US Open a few years back.

2004-07-09 03:18:57 PM
sandi_fish, well I am 100% sure he isn't his uncle. I know they know each other. And Jimmy likes to play along that he is related, as every Buffet probably does. But on an Omaha blog, there is something that they may be distant relatives. That is as close as it gets, and I still think isn't true.

Man, I remember this time I tried to pay for lunch with Warren Buffett. We were in this cheap restaurant...nothing fancy. A Dairy Queen, maybe, or a Shoney's. Anyway, Warren always pays for lunch when we go out, so I wanted to be nice. "Warren," I says, "Come on dude. Let me pick this one up." And you know Warren. He's nothing if not humble. So he says, "Sure."

So the total bill is like $26.34. And all I've got in my wallet is a ten and a whole bunch of $2.00 bills. Like fifteen of them. Don't ask me why I had so many--I can't remember. But I put down the ten spot, and lay another twelve of the $2's on top of it. So that's like $34 total. A good tip. I wanted Warren to be impressed, see.

But this idiot waiter comes up and he's like, "What the hell are those?" and he's all pointing at the $2 bills. And I says to him, I says, "Those are $2 bills." And he says, "There's no such thing as a $2 bill. Those are fake." And I says, "Come on man, of course there are. Get your manager if you don't believe me."

So he gets his manager. And believe it or not, this guy comes out and looks at my money and crosses his arms and says to me, "Sir, I can't accept those bills. They're not real." And Warren, he's just sitting there the whole time with this totally amused expression on his face. He just wants to see how the whole thing plays out, see. And I just give up. I'm like, "Whatever, man," and take my money back and put down my American Express card and leave like a 25 cent tip. That manager, what an asshat.

Anyway, that's the story of me and Warren Buffett having lunch, and the stupid waiter and manager who didn't believe there's really such a thing as a $2 bill.
