Instant replay shows it was a stroke, not a heart attack, that killed him.

The NFL will be reviewing the rule that states that long-time football fanatics who die after a game will be ruled legally dead.

No word yet on whether Saturday's death will be replayed.

He was thrilled to death!

Even funnier when I submitted it as "Jerk-off idiot freezes to death at football game. Patriots suck."

2002-01-22 09:16:58 AM
Actually, Grivas, I think he was on a date with this one...

Tostfeld: Actually, the man who died just found out how much that dizzy biatch just upped his tolls.

Not to get off the subject, but if anyone wants to know how to NOT get yourself elected governor, follow her example.

Maybe we need an "IRONIC" tag

2002-01-22 09:44:10 AM
Fb- actually, this time, you are wrong. This headline is better than the one you submitted. (Normally, I like yours better)

Geez, you guys are critical even when someone dies. This is a sad, ironic story, it doesn't mean it's time to make fun of the guy that died, or make fun of the Patriots. At least show some sympathy. Just think if it was your father. (Or, whatever loved one you care about most)

2002-01-22 10:32:14 AM
Definitely should have a SAD tag instead of Misc. And Dividedsky is exactly right on what he/she said.

See, the ref's bad call actually KILLED someone!

Very sad. So sad.

Sympathy time over.

Steelers are going to kick some Patriots ass.

sad...or amusing?
wait, nm... that's just sad.
*cough*

I can assure you this will not be the first, for after the STEELERS get finished with the Pats on Sunday, there will more than enough reason for other fans to follow suit... I GOT A FEELIN' PITTSBURGH'S GOIN' TO THE SUPERBOWL.....HERE WE GO STELLERS HERE WE GO!!!!

2002-01-22 11:47:05 AM
PITTS--BURGH--ALL--THE--WAY!!

They're starting to look like the Steel Curtain of the 1970s!

2002-01-22 12:16:08 PM
This is just a sad story...poor guy! See another reason OAKLAND should have won - It would have saved this guy's life probably! :)

2002-01-22 12:23:26 PM
The person who said this needs an 'IRONIC' tag needs to go look the word 'ironic' up in the dictionary, and then beat themselves to death with it.

2002-01-22 12:34:24 PM
oooooooooooooooooh, the eagles won the NFC EAST? that's not exactly something to celebrate, phillyboy.

2002-01-22 12:38:22 PM
If the deceased's arm was moving in a forward direction it cannot be ruled a turnover, just an incompletion. Maybe the guy really didn't die after all.
How do you like that logic Pat fans?

Bah... Pittsburg didn't face much competition all year. They are overrated. Look at their schedule, who will argue that they had a tough time? They met only one team in the top half of the NFL in points scored. Don't look at the Baltimore game as an indication of their dominance... that team was well past its peak, with a QB that was completly exposed as a stiff, and a defense that was overrated to begin with. They played in one of the weakest divisions in the NFL, a division loaded with teams with offenses that would have trouble scoring against a good high school football team. The extra two division games they played would have probably been against Green Bay and Chicago.. a gift.

The best team they faced all year was the Jets, and after that, the competition drops sharply.

Don't get me wrong, the Steelers are a good football team. Balanced on offense and pretty stingy on defense. But they ain't unbeatable. The Patriots are above and beyond the toughest, most focused and well coached team that Pittsburg has faced all year. Few people are giving New England a chance, and I think they are not seeing the whole picture.

Belichick is the better coach, and he also had forgotten more about 3-4 defenses than anyone on Pittsburg knows. This whole "Pittsburg runs a defense no one knows about" BS is bunk. Plus, I think Brady is a better pressure QB than Kordell. Brady has proven more in his first 14 games than Kordell had in his whole career.

It will come down to which team makes fewer mistakes. I am a biased Pats fan by the way. While Pittsburg has more talent on both sides of the ball, New England is better coached and excecutes better in just about every phase of the game.

This game is not played on paper.

Cleighton:They played in one of the weakest divisions in the NFL

One of the weakest divisions? Hmmm....last year's Super Bowl champ was AFC Central. The year before the AFC was represented by the AFC Central (Houston Oilers...err...Tennessee Titans), and this year the AFC is most likely going to be represented by the Steelers.

Yeah, that sounds like one of the weakest divisions in the NFL to me.

Okay, now were even.

GO RAIDERS.

2002-01-22 01:57:35 PM
I dunno, I used to live in Mass so I'm going to root for the Patriots. Last year the Ravens won, and I live in Baltimore, so I might have good luck

2002-01-22 02:50:53 PM
*yawn* Another reason to not watch/participate in anything sport-related.

2002-01-22 03:42:43 PM
GO Raiders!

2002-01-22 03:54:21 PM
Miles_O'Toole: last year's Super Bowl champ was AFC Central. The year before the AFC was represented by the AFC Central ... that was old news man. The defending champions were a shadow of the team that won the Super Bowl... you couldn't even compare the two. The Titans are going downhill fast as well. Because of the extra team in your div, you managed to avoid Green Bay and Chicago (most likely both). Don't even try to say your schedule was nothing other than a gift.

I don't want to hear about what this team did last year or that team did the year before. That means nothing. The NFL is a NOW thing man....

Cleighton is right and the Rams are going to stomp whichever East Coast Kitty Team gets sent to New Orleans.

MayoBoy - If, that is, the Rams get past the Eagles, which they won't.

RIIIIIGHT

Remember, our Rams won't be playing on that shoddy as carpet Philly has which made us wear special ed shoes that the eagles normally wear.

Face it, Philly just want to talk the trash talk to make them look good, but when the smoke clears from our celebration fireworks, it will be Mcnabb crying on the sideline this time!

Imagine what wwould happen if the Red Sox won the World Series. I'll wager that ALL of New England, and HALF the rest of the country will keel over and die.

2002-01-23 09:34:57 AM
Everyone is missing the key factor here. Kordell Stewart is a choker. OK, I said it. He chokes. Yes, he is probably a candidate for league MVP. Doesn't matter. This is it. This is the critical game for Pittsburgh. Get to the Superbowl or choke.

Guess which one Kordell is going to choose.
