2004-06-30 10:47:37 AM
Ba Ba booey

2004-06-30 10:47:47 AM
Actually, that's quite a bit. He was only kicked off of six, after all.

2004-06-30 10:47:55 AM
Like I've said before, condemnation from the FCC and religious right is the best thing that's ever happened to Stern.

2004-06-30 10:48:01 AM
BFD, Howard Stern is an ass..

FKA
2004-06-30 10:48:03 AM

2004-06-30 10:48:08 AM

What is it with Fark and this tool? Stern sucks.

2004-06-30 10:48:23 AM
The only thing I admire about Howard Stern is his unfailing ability to piss people off.

2004-06-30 10:48:28 AM
Kick ass!!!

I love Stern and his brand of humor.

Greatest Radio Personality Ever.

2004-06-30 10:48:33 AM
Good for him, now with more Anal-ring toss!

2004-06-30 10:48:37 AM
Fark HooHoo, we want O&A!

2004-06-30 10:48:59 AM
I'm still surprised Stern hasn't signed a lucrative satellite radio deal. Seems like that would be the big FU to the FCC and, more importantly, ClearChannel.

2004-06-30 10:49:07 AM
How many months has he been saying he is almost done?

I never listened to his show much (Curtis & Kuby fan myself) but will listen to it for a bit once every few weeks to see what he is ranting about. Unfortunatley I happened to catch him last week when he had Moore on. I honestly don't think that I will ever be able to listen to him again after that. It was the biggest circle jerk I ever heard in my life.

2004-06-30 10:49:10 AM
back in rochester... nice, all the morning shows around here suck otherwise. Anyone know what station?

2004-06-30 10:49:22 AM
f the fcc, welcome back howard

2004-06-30 10:49:33 AM
It's not about the number of stations, or in Stern's case, even the quality of the show, it's about STICKIN' IT TO THE MAN!

I can't stand the man, but I sure don't like it when the government decides to infringe upon freedom of speech. They oughta pass a law preventing that.

Wait....

2004-06-30 10:49:33 AM
"Howard Stern adds 9 stations across the country"

and the whole country yawns...

2004-06-30 10:49:47 AM
im listening to him right now on Live 105.7 here in baltimore... that ones not on the list...

2004-06-30 10:49:55 AM
One of the funniest stories I have ever heard was on Stern. About Artie doing coke in a pig suit. I almost drove off the road laughing so hard.

2004-06-30 10:50:08 AM
...and they'll all drop him in a heartbeat when our worthless, ineffective FCC declares his show "indecent" again...

2004-06-30 10:50:09 AM
Noooo, I've been hoarding satellite radio stock for months!

2004-06-30 10:50:20 AM
EyeballKid

The money is still in broadcast radio. After all, most cars do not come with satilite radios yet.

2004-06-30 10:50:37 AM
I still don't understand why Clear Channel was fined and Infinity or Cox have yet to pay, not that I particularly care for CC.

2004-06-30 10:50:48 AM
So he's on 103.7 (The Planet) FM in San Diego now? I've never heard of that station.

F Jackie!

2004-06-30 10:51:11 AM
Stern is a lowest-common denominator loser who hasn't been cool since he was on Uncle Floyd, but given that the FCC is looking to squeeze him out of the airwaves over "indecency," I'm glad he's expanding. No one is putting a gun to my head and making me listen to the tool.

2004-06-30 10:51:21 AM
Stern really sucks...badly

2004-06-30 10:51:24 AM
Im not one for radio (i dont even OWN one), but on the rare occasion that Im puttering around in the morning with a friend, stern is on the radio, and I am laughing out loud.

Crass, stupid, idiotic, and amazingly entertaining.

Im sorry, but having a porn-star pop-quiz contest is FUNNY.

2004-06-30 10:51:26 AM
Is there a web broadcast of the Howard Stern show?

2004-06-30 10:52:33 AM
F Cheney!

2004-06-30 10:52:45 AM
Stern sucks, listen to Bob and Tom

2004-06-30 10:52:46 AM
The article said Stern was back on in Rochester on 94.1 WZNE. I still think Brother Wease beats the hell out of Stern, though... ah well. I don't like him, but if he's on more stations than before, good.

2004-06-30 10:52:50 AM
Another good reason not to vote Bush, conciedence that Howard Stern started getting dropped in swing states when he started talking crap about Bush?

Yay freedom of speech!

2004-06-30 10:53:09 AM
This is a good thing. Stern is the best radio talent ever - welcome back to Pittsburgh

2004-06-30 10:53:21 AM
Never heard stern is he like mancow?

More lucrative? Satellite will never be able to come close to offering him what he makes now in syndication. Just guessing but with the major cities alone, he probably is able to reach 50-100 million people. XM and Sirius combined are just over 1 million I think.

Possibly he could charge a few bucks a month for his show I suppose, and I am sure there will be a chunck of people who follow him to satellite, but still, the money for him is in syndication, and being out there also is what helps drive his ratings, popularity, ego, you name it. Without that he is nothing.

That being said I have to give the guy credit, he sure knows how to work people, and make a constant ass out of himself without burning his fans.

StrikitRich

Heres the thing, if clearchannel bothered to fight the fine, they would likely win.

But they didnt fight it.

Dont know why, really. Some people think its because CC and the gvt are in cahoots, and the fines are another way that CC can give money. _AND_ it sets a scary precident.

CC sucks, and is the reason i dont listen to any radio anymore.

2004-06-30 10:53:41 AM
you go girl

2004-06-30 10:53:56 AM
Oh my god, it's like a math question.

If Howard Stern gets kicked off six stations, and picks up 9 new stations, how many apples do you have?

FKA
2004-06-30 10:54:00 AM
Yeah, expect the FCC to be beathing down his neck. I am sure he will cut back on the edgy stuff, just so he can rail on the current administration and what's going on in the country.

Fair and balanced, right?

2004-06-30 10:54:11 AM

Does not approve

2004-06-30 10:54:58 AM
Stern sucks, listen to Bob and Tom

Bob and tom are alright, but to me it seems like you could listen to a laughtrack from a 70's comedy and it would be about the same....but I do like the way they do sports.

F-the FCC and Powell

2004-06-30 10:55:08 AM
I tuned in to try to catch the press conference. I thought he would start at 8:00am. It didn't happen until 8:45ish. It is funny that there was no food and refreshment for the press who attended. Viacom is cheap.

2004-06-30 10:55:43 AM
Maybe if he would spend less than half his show talking about how great he is, it would be bearable. I like him some of the time, but he spends so much freaking time blowing smoke up his own ass, it gets old.

2004-06-30 10:55:49 AM
I think Howard should move his TV show from E! to HBO so we can get rid of all the blurry boobies.

2004-06-30 10:56:00 AM
how can anyone "hate" stern? if you dont like what you are hearing, change the damn station. i happen to find it amusing to listen to craked out cocaine/heroin using whores be made fun of live on air. and listening to people go on rants is quite amusing as well, wether you agree with the rant or not... just sit back and laugh, or change the damn station...

2004-06-30 10:56:39 AM
Life in Houston just improved dramatically...

2004-06-30 10:57:09 AM
And the lowest common denominator sinks just a liiiitle bit lower. Good god. I'm to young to be carping about the crap on the airwaves these days.
