It gets old...but again, reverse the situation. 23 year old male teacher, 14 year old girl. No one would EVER consider putting any blame on the 14 year old girl, consentual or not. You can discriminate between the sexes, particularly when it comes to law.

This woman's case is similar to one that happened in my own family.
You see...there was this friend of the family who was about 27 years old.
She was good friends with my sister, and also friends with my nephews, aged about 16 and 14.
Apparently, it came out she was doing it with the 14-year-old.
The 16-year-old thought he was in love with her.
Anyway, this led to huge conflict between the brothers.
Things were a mess in our family for a long time after that...
My opinion...
this kind of stuff can really mess someone that age up.
Or...it might not.
Law's the law, though, and if she's guilty, this woman deserves punishment for her actions.
In the case of my family, the family friend, though reported, was never charged with anything, and has since moved to a different state.

as i have said before.... WHAT THE fark EVER HAPPENED TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY?? it's obvious that the media and most of you people here on fark have tried and convicted this woman without knowing any of the facts!! it's sad that the media and other people are so damned quick to pass judgement on something that the only resources they have any clue about info on are from the internet and the news. and of course as we all know... the media is ALWAYS correct.... as is the internet!! and especially in Tampa Bay where we all know that none of the Judges, Prosecuting Attorneys, District Attorneys and Cops are not crooked by any means. just ask that old DA in Tampa that got busted on all kinds of charges... oh wait.. you can't ask him... he blew his friggin brains out!! or perhaps they should ask the former police chief of Tampa, Benny Holder (or whatever the fark his name is) about the embezzling charges that were brought up and conveniently swept under the carpet. or even how the media covers up for their own when Reginald Roundtree of Channel 10 (www.tampabaylive.com), went after his wife with a friggin butcher knife... and that got conveniently covered up and swept under the carpet.

this just pisses me off that people are so quick to pass judgement on someone else.. but when their ass is in a sling... oh stand the fark by!!!

and then you got this Morning Show DJ who calls himself MJ (aka Todd Schnitt) .... sure i respect his opinion.. but to just plaster this girls image all over his website from her yearbook photos to wedding photos to modeling photos ... when he has little to no facts about this case with the exception of what he got off the Smoking Gun website and from the local media channels. (great investigating by the way... ass!)

what makes it worse is this girls image has been all over the national media now. hell.. even the girls from The View were accusing her... didn't even say "allegedly" .. just went ahead and tried and convicted her themselves. Also MSNBC is doing a special on her "case" tonight, and even the Today Show has had a field day with this.

This just sickens me!! i'm so pissed about this whole thing. how bout let this girl have her day in court before you all ... INCLUDING THE MEDIA ... pass judgment!!

just ask that teacher that got away with murder literally a couple months back here in tampa, when she ran over 4 kids, killing two of them, admitted to doing it live at a press conference on televicion... (ADMITTED GUILTY) and even left the scene of the accident and did not turn herself in until she hired a Barry Cohen (which worked Pro Bono) because there was no way possible this 28 year old teacher could afford to pay his fees. and after admitting to killing two of these kids, she gets off!! the police only charge her with leaving the scene of an accident. No vehicular manslaughter, nothing to do with taking a childs life with her car... just leaving the scene of an accident. and it took the police well over a week to bring charges forth in this... EVEN AFTER SHE ADMITTED GUILT!!

In an unrelated story, from here on out, all 7th grade boys in Washington State will be required to take a parenting class when they enter Junior High.

I offer this in support of the obvious.

My uncle's wife, a knockout and beauty queen of some stripe, taught sixth grade. She had sex with a male student to, among other things, combat her feelings of inadequacy. That is to say, she wanted him to think she was pretty.

This may not apply to our celebrated teacher. But, in any case, one can only imagine the instability that led to her decision to screw this 14 year old kid.

Even if her husband couldn't get it up, couldn't be bothered to put out, or was too rough when he finally got around to them, there are numerous solutions that do not involve anything near the stupidity of sleeping with one of her students. A period of masturbation and marriage counseling seems to be the most legitimate. On the other end of the spectrum, a stranger from a local bar would have not only sufficed but spared her everything but infidelity.

To say the least, it seems unlikely that her husband's sexual proclivities (or lack thereof) may have influenced her decision. Think about it. Calling upon the sexual performance of a newly pubescent teen for compensation is unthinkable.

Sure, she's crazy. The question remains: what drove her to seeing sex with one of her students as a suitable course of action?

I'm the first to say she is innocent until proven guilty and 14 and 15 year olds lie. However, being recorded by the police as telling the young man that she was on birth control when they had sex, as was written in the smoking gun police report, does tend to harm her case.

Next time perhaps spend more time discussing the value of secrecy given the anachronistic laws of Florida.
