I caint open mah beer with it.

2002-01-18 05:31:41 PM
ummm.... impressive, I guess.
not sure how it makes my life better, though.

not quite as nifty as the prime-number shiatting bear.

Here is the problem with the website.

There you go.

2002-01-18 05:34:21 PM
I got it to work.. really nothing special, not sure who submitted it but you can find stuff like this elsewhere on the net.

type 43046721 and it'll crash

2002-01-18 05:36:44 PM
ghey.

2002-01-18 05:38:56 PM
What a piece of junk! It couldn't even handle a 9-digit number. This shiat gives math/CS geeks with lots of time on their hands a bad name.

2002-01-18 05:43:29 PM
OH MAN!!!

I was gonna go out tonight, but screw that!
I'm gonna stay in and spend some more time with this thing. I might mess with this thing all weekend!

2002-01-18 05:46:56 PM
Wow. Good job with the selections today guys. Fist the gps watch, then the panda-PDA, then the super-fast computer, then prime numbers (the last doesn't even feature a prime-number sh!tting bear or goatse_cx)!

Who is choosing these things?

For this steaming pile of cr@p you ignored my link to asian bOObies?

2002-01-18 05:47:30 PM
god damned math geeks........

2002-01-18 05:52:29 PM
stupid unfetchable pictures....let's try again.

What does factorization have to do with algebra?

2002-01-18 06:02:29 PM
algebra

a lge bra

A LARGE BRA

No matter how you look at it, it all leads back to BOOBIES!

2002-01-18 06:04:30 PM
Thank God.

I misplaced the slidey part of my slide rule when I flung it at the TV.

At Puckhead's request, I present the link to asian [image from img.fark.com too old to be available]

As long as you stick to the thumbnail pages it's pop-up free. Enjoy.

Not bad. I remember writing one of those in BASIC back in high school. The fact that it's an applet is nice, though.

2002-01-18 06:31:15 PM
THIS RIGHT HERE is much more fun than that silly prime factorisation thingy.

Algebra?

You guys need a kleenex?

2002-01-18 06:46:44 PM
Whoever submitted this needs their own square on the geek heirarchy.

2002-01-18 06:49:21 PM
Damn! Where was this when I took algebra?

2002-01-18 06:50:24 PM
The developer of this applet needs to become acquainted with a concept known as threading... the whole UI freezes while its running on my box...

Not to mention it is dog slow on a number like 1122334455... which shouldn't take more than 35K iterations to come up with all the prime factors...

2002-01-18 07:12:39 PM
More like a crapplet than anything else.

I got my Bachelor's in Mathematics, and even I think this is a retarted post/link.

Cns618Fvckin' hilarious - best post in this thread!

no kidding. yawn. it's friday. show me the boobies.

2002-01-18 08:26:13 PM
You people are jealous of prime numbers. You're sitting around, asking "What does the number 7 have that I don't?". Well, get a life!

2002-01-18 08:26:43 PM
Threading schmeading, Alyandon. We all know that computers are best when they're doing real work: no true geek would pay the price of constant thread context switches just to make his GUI responsive. Also, form popup boxes that allow you to enter invalid sets of parameters are good because they cut out all the users who need to learn stuff before they can use the app - note this is why vi is the greatest text editor in the world; no idiots.Besides, the thread libraries in Java are just too difficult to use.

Cavaradossi:

There can sometimes be a fine line between true geek vs. lazy developer. I still say that it is not a good thing to have a UI that doesn't even repaint when another window is moved over it and the few context switches associated with repainting the UI just aren't significant. Of course its just an applet on a web page... not really that important I guess...

note this is why vi is the greatest text editor in the world; no idiots

I love vi... it is indeed the greatest text editor known to man...

Besides, the thread libraries in Java are just too difficult to use.

hahahahahahahaha... I'm just going to disagree and I'm not even a Real Java Developer(tm)...

I'll see your 7 and raise you 4 to a 11!
Math is dum and gay anyway.

2002-01-18 09:11:13 PM
Hey! WTF? MY website has a prime factor machine--all in Javascript yet multithreaded. It's fast, but won't handle numbers over 9 digits becuase Javascript won't. I'm not posting a link because you l33t geeks will surely rip me a new one. On the other hand, I can't compete with Thatguy's link. Holy shiat. I don't think I will use that in class.

2002-01-18 09:24:58 PM
might be a great learning aid, though--"so you guys think math is gay? Check this out"

2002-01-18 09:33:16 PM
OKJ, since this thread is completely dead, I'll post a link to my prime factor machine.

2002-01-18 09:36:39 PM
Good thing I failed math! With great inventions like this comming into our lives every day, we are only a few years away from becomming the master race....

Some one find this guy a job......please.......

A useless tool for an equally useless form of math.

It wasn't a personal crack at you Revrendjim, chill out.

2002-01-18 11:21:18 PM
Gifted Maybe he was just asking...

2002-01-18 11:26:24 PM
Reverendjim I put in as many 9's as your thing would allow and Mozilla 0.97 spit out the answer in 2-3 seconds.

Just thought you'd like to know.

2002-01-18 11:29:24 PM
uh

prime factorizations have nothing to do with algebra... that's we like to call "number theory"... and why the hell would this get posted over my far superior (math related) link of yore....
