Maybe he just couldn't find his passport.

"It's a particular issue that's been very critical to me," Kerry told reporters as he walked into the Capitol. "It's central to something I want to get done."

Guess those 118 votes he missed weren't critical.

Bush can do his job on vacation.

Kerry cannot.

Bush can do his job on vacation.

Yeah, Bush can fark everything up and please his Big Oil and defense contractor pals from anywhere.

At least, Kerry isn't pretending to do farm work at his photo-op ranch and pretending to be a cowboy.

Yee Haw!

/flame war ensues

See? Kerry loves veterinarians enough to cancel a trip and vote on their welfare! Wait...not veterinarians? Well what the fark does he have against veterinarians??!?

Yeah, he's the one that plays the harpsichord and answers the door, right?

2004-06-22 01:23:10 PM
He is the nominated candidate for the Democratic party. This schedule is nothing new for a Presidential campaign. You think Bush was in his Governor's office everyday during the campaign trail? Hell, he's barely been in his elected office since the election.

2004-06-22 01:23:37 PM
Pff, all you need to do is stuff a penny in the voting buttons to hold them down.

2004-06-22 01:25:55 PM

Maybe he just couldn't find his passport.

You're confusing your candidates. Did you know they speak Mexican?

2004-06-22 02:22:49 PM
Your late Terminal, they did that around post #4.

I'd rather have Bush on his ranch making decisions than Waffleboy in the White House, spending all day trying on different socks when he can't make up his mind.

Besides, I think better out of the office, hence my stupid posts.

You think Bush was in his Governor's office everyday during the campaign trail?

From cnn.com:
Bush's salary is $115,345, but he forfeited roughly $17,000 to reimburse the state for the time he spent campaigning outside Texas.

Also, when Bob Dole ran for president in 1996 he resigned from the Senate and forfeited his Majority Leader position.

It's not good manners to squash arguments so early in a thread.

You should have had the patience to let them huff and puff for a while.

Bush can do his job on vacation.

Just like he did in August 2001.

2004-06-22 07:18:33 PM
Indeed, he is a member. Like Bush, he's busy trying to win the Presidential election, and like Bush, his daily duties suffer against that all important quest.
Unlike Bush, Kerry was elected. Bush was selected in the most peaceful coup d'etat in history.

He couldn't make up his mind between New Mexico and Old Mexico......

where was that a-hole when my unemployment ran out and he missed the vote... lost it by 1 <~~~ throws VOTE away

I agree with BlueKnight.

2004-06-22 07:20:22 PM
Why does a member of The Senate need a press release to announce he is going to do his job?

2004-06-22 07:20:38 PM
I have to say my initial reaction was indignation, but then I thought how I'd react if the tables were turned, and I have to say that he has missed quite a few votes. It's not uncommon for campaigning candidates who happen to be congressmen to miss a lot, though, is it?

Either way, it's not like he's been on vacation or partying. He's been out on the campaign trail doing his thing. As of now, he still gets my vote come November.

He apparently was absent about an 87% absentee rating in the senate. What a piece of $hit he is.

2004-06-22 07:22:23 PM
It's interesting that no one is bringing up Kerry's pediophilia conviction from 1965.

2004-06-22 07:23:43 PM
He also found time to vote for inceasing the maximum amount of fines the FCC can dish out. Out of all the votes to skip, why not that one? Thanks, assbag.

/vote libertarian.

Fark is getting paid by Fox News right? How many articles a day? Most of which are non-issues Fox/GOP would love to make people angry about.

>where was that a-hole when my unemployment ran out and he missed the vote

You have no idea how the Senate works, do you?

Where are all the Fox Newz pieces on Bush "the vacationing" president? Or the ones that aren't always showing us how moral and proper the Iraq war is? They're not posted here thats for sure.

2004-06-22 07:24:38 PM
You think there will be enough prozac to lift the Anybody But Bush crowd off the floor if the President is re-elected? I mean, we get an article posted about Kerry and the third comment mentions Bush!!! When you guys look at baseball scores is all you think about "murmer....murmer Bush used to own the Rangers...". You people have Bush on the brain! Get a job.

2004-06-22 07:25:08 PM
Bush has apparently been "clearing brush" about 74% of the time during his presidency. What an angel he is.

2004-06-22 07:25:11 PM
twobux:
whatever, those kids had been downing champagne and Quaaludes long before Kerry mistook one for the escort.

Yeah, because an article that makes Kerry look bad gets posted there must be some sort of right-wing conspiracy on Fark.

Stop smoking so much weed.

What is the crime of "pedophilia"?

2004-06-22 07:26:46 PM
You people have Bush on the brain! Get a job.

We might even be able to, if Bush wasn't president.

2004-06-22 07:27:15 PM
Or how about how much of our tax money has been spent by Bush taking all those "vacations" which were just trips to battleground states so he could stump for local GOP politicians. Oh right, Kerry is a millionare. Thanks Rupert Murdoch for telling me how to vote!

[We might even be able to, if Bush wasn't president.]

Burn! Nice one GD.

2004-06-22 07:28:18 PM
He has participated in just 17 of 135 votes since January, according to an Associated Press tally.

Sadly, this is still better than the "representation" Massachusetts gets from its senior Senator.

/nice of Kerry to vote for increased FCC fines today too!

In other news, Bush never cancels a vacation, ever.

Bush can do his job on vacation.

Kerry cannot.

So what you're saying is that Bush's job, or that way that he does it, is so easy that he can take off 40% of the time (what he's actually done) and still be effective.

The only logical conclusions one could draw from that argument are that:

A) Bush doesn't do much because other people do his thinking for him.

B) Bush is a freakin' genius.

And I KNOW you're not proposing (B) as the reason.

2004-06-22 07:28:52 PM
It's interesting that no one is bringing up Kerry's pediophilia conviction from 1965.

I don't like Kerry and I don't even think that's true (or that he is capable of that). He doesn't come off as a perv to me.

BTW...Worst headline ever

Great website GuinnessDrinker

>sort of right-wing conspiracy on Fark.

Psst, its called the propaganda model of media. Read up on it sometime. Some people just can't tell that their reading Pravda. There's bias, but its bias because of media's close ties with industry and government. Especially Fox and MSNBC.

A little bit OT, but here's a Yahoo! article about the amount of time each of the last few presidents have taken off for vacation.
