I am the head of the third largest party in the US, the Universalists. Suck on that Libertarians and Greens.
2002-01-17 08:12:08 AM
GREAT! I 'm sure this will help both the Greens and
the Libertarians go on to score big in the House and
2002-01-17 08:17:12 AM
Fark right wing?

No you dont say.
2002-01-17 08:17:39 AM
we mos def could get enough signatures to register a Fark party
2002-01-17 08:20:59 AM
My daddy can beat up your daddy, so there! :P
2002-01-17 08:21:57 AM
whose can. got more votes last election for pres?
2002-01-17 08:25:55 AM
Who submitted that stupid headline?
2002-01-17 08:27:27 AM
The green movement is still farily scattered, and most of its members don't vote, making it very hard to measure. Nader got more votes than Harry Browne last election by a large amount, though, so it is accurate to say that the Green party is more important politically than say the Libertarians or the Natural Law party, even if the Libertarian party has more card-carrying members.
2002-01-17 08:27:38 AM
Why do these hippies get any press at all? They are doomed to political irrevelancy. They need to go join the rest of the troop in their drum circle while they protest starbucks or whatever.
2002-01-17 08:28:53 AM
I'd consider the greens more successful:

"* Registered voters: 224,713 Libertarians, 194,873 Greens.

* Money raised in 2001: $2.1 million Libertarians, less than $0.1 million Greens.

They seem to be able to drum up more support with far less money.
2002-01-17 08:30:40 AM
Liberal vs Liberal, it's a Republican conspiracy.
2002-01-17 08:33:03 AM
ohh...i see, now Nader is a big liar, he was trying to manipulate the american public. give me a break, write an article when you find out he's from another planet or kills whales for blubber.

Fb- i know what your trying to's not working. ok, maybe a little...would you concider someone who's moved to a tiny island (away from mass society) a dirty hippie? some people would, i think.
2002-01-17 08:33:20 AM
Thats weird, I thought Fb said he voted for Nader at the last election.

Or was it only fantasy as usual?
2002-01-17 08:34:02 AM
this is the stupid kind of infighting over trivialities that the dems&republicans want....way to go asswipes! I'm sure a call to Ralph Nader would have him correct any omissions and errors, after all thats how he got where he is today(nowhere but honest)even RN can be fed bad info...fight over issues not over stupidity the Libertarians sound like some school yard braggart(imn bigger than you,yes I am)
2002-01-17 08:34:22 AM
Hippies? What are you smoking? All the greens I know are retired middle-class folk.
2002-01-17 08:35:07 AM
Harmonia, Fb-'s "grown" since then.
2002-01-17 08:35:27 AM

I did. What's your point?
2002-01-17 08:37:31 AM
an erection doesn't count as personal growth
2002-01-17 08:40:12 AM
While Nader's statement is obviously false if you consider the number of registered voters, I think Ralph was basing his statement on the number of people that voted for him in the 2000 election. If I remember correctly, he was 3rd in the voting. So I understand what he is saying. But the point is this: Ralph Nader should be the last person to be fudging things and putting "spin" on numbers. The green party isn't the 3rd largest party in the US. Period. Ralph should realize that his perception of support for the Green party is just support for him. When he is gone so is the party. Just like that thing Perot started. Where is THAT party now?
2002-01-17 08:40:13 AM
So you voted for a group who you think

They are doomed to political irrevelancy. They need to go join the rest of the troop in their drum circle while they protest starbucks or whatever."

I think your various lies over the year are beginning to catch up with you Fb.

Oh what tangled webs we weave etc..
2002-01-17 08:44:12 AM

We should NOT register a Fark party. Columbia's drug lord rebellion movement is called Fark (not sure of spelling). That might be taken the wrong way by the new majority of America, the hispanic.

Never take anything Fb- says seriously. And please go wash off that pachooli stink.

Legalize marijuana, it'll help us filter the dumbasses to the bottom of society and let those of us with more than two brain cells to rub together rake money into our bank accounts and live much better.
2002-01-17 08:45:26 AM
vote Ventura!

at least he tells you when he sleeps with prostitutes.

the rest of the politicians hide it & talk about posting the 10 commandments on every 3rd person's forehead.
2002-01-17 08:46:31 AM

The farc is the spelling of the guerilla movement in Columbia

The Revolutionary Armed forces of Columbia.

They even have a webpage!
2002-01-17 08:49:39 AM

A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush.
2002-01-17 08:50:22 AM
Misleading headline. I thought maybe he got caught driving a Corvair.
2002-01-17 08:52:57 AM
We need guys like Ralph Nader to help keep our politcial system in check. Face it, a two-party system doesn't always give you who you want to serve you (see: Election 2000).

Also, while petty bullshiat and misquotes may make him a "liar", notice how his platform and the issues he ran on are not disputed. We need campaign finance reform, sound environmental policy, and to end corporate welfare. Hard to dispute, biatches.

Also, consider the source of this story.
2002-01-17 08:53:07 AM

that would only be an issue if Hispanics voted. check voting records, the only Hispanic who voted was Pablo Guerrera from San Jose, & he thought he was registering for a free T.V.
2002-01-17 08:53:23 AM
It's nice to see the Libertarian party pick on someone their own size... or smaller according to them.
2002-01-17 08:56:16 AM

"A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush."

Well it is if its being counted in Florida!

Still its US elections where the candidate with the least votes wins, so who can tell
2002-01-17 08:57:23 AM

I know I don't care much about your island, but isn't voter apathy how Blair got elected?
2002-01-17 08:59:19 AM
Nader is a hypocrite, at a minimum. He demands accountability on the part of politicians and businessmen - including full disclosure on salaries, contributions, and the like(which is a good thing) - but he refuses to publish his own salary and political contribution information. You've got a lot of credibility there, Ralphie.
2002-01-17 09:00:56 AM
Are Dim-Dems still talking that horse shiat? Do you watch the news? Both NPR and CNN reported months ago that by all accounts possible, Bush would have won Florida anyway.

If you are biatching about the electoral college, then fine, but go see if you can think up a better system then.
2002-01-17 09:01:42 AM
Nope Fb,9029,534160,00.html

It was because people still hate the Conservatives for what they did under that mad cow Thatcher (Spit)
2002-01-17 09:04:30 AM
Not everyone who voted for Nader wanted him to win. I personally voted for Nader, though I lean to the libertarian side. Why? Because I live in Texas, my vote would have made almost no difference because this is Bush's home state and he would have gotten all the electoral votes anyways. But I didn't want to vote for Bush because I didn't trust him, and didn't want Gore because I don't like his platform. So I made a protest vote. I would have voted McCain if he had gotten the nomination.
2002-01-17 09:04:36 AM
I have a helluva lot more respect for Nader than I do for Gore and Bush. The guy has an excellent track record of doing good things for society, and for the our safety.
2002-01-17 09:06:53 AM
Guerilla movements with a web, ya gotta love technology.

Um, that is Lady Thatcher.
2002-01-17 09:08:45 AM
that's not true 9/10, he did release his personal tax returns.
2002-01-17 09:19:23 AM
"The real yardstick for third-party success is how many candidates you run for office, and how many of those candidates win elections."

This is an important statement. What it is saying is we are bigger if you define bigger this way. When you get to define the terms I guess you can make about anything you want seem true. Kind of like, "That depends on what your definition of the word 'is' is."

This is going to shock the shiat out of you but I voted for Nader and if he runs in the next election I will vote for him again.
2002-01-17 09:20:15 AM
2002-01-17 09:21:09 AM
Glad to hear it Capigula,

The Scottish equivelenet of Nader is Tommy Sheridan

I vote for him.
2002-01-17 09:23:49 AM
Nadar is too much of a socialist for my taste. He does advocate safety regs, but if it was up to him he would get rid of all my favorite vices out there. Smoking, driving at high speeds without a seatbelt, and hotdogs. I did vote for him though, only because I had no fear of him wining. I liked the fact that the few (very few) times he was given the podium he didn't waste it on stupid non-issues like the evils of Hollywood and crap. It was a bit refreshing.
2002-01-17 09:26:09 AM
Campaign finance reform and his environmental stance. That's why I voted for him.
2002-01-17 09:29:25 AM

Here we are flicking shiat at each other all this time because our views are so far apart. As it turns out your so far left and I'm so far right that we are right next to each other. Look, on the signpost up stop the Twilight Zone. Dee dee, dee dee.
2002-01-17 09:30:31 AM
And we care why?
Fark is.....
2002-01-17 09:34:41 AM

Thats Tommys lot Capigula.
2002-01-17 09:35:35 AM
So Nader--a politician--exaggerates his importance a little bit, and people are, like, morally outraged at this?

Hey guys, commie pinko hippies aren't your problem. Lack of sex is your problem.
2002-01-17 09:38:17 AM
I believe it was Bismark who noted that you truly conquer a territory with farmers, not soldiers.

By which I mean: you get the roots, and go for the long term. The LP seems to be concentrating on running local candidates - lots of local candidates. Boards of education, local PTAs, city council positions, mayors, assembly seats.

There are now several dozen, possibly a couple of hundred, politicians and civic leaders of the Libertarian persuasion who have been elected and RE-elected to local offices.

This is the ground from which future congresspersons, senators, and Presidents will eventually come.
2002-01-17 09:43:08 AM
Libertarians rule
2002-01-17 09:44:23 AM
I believe it was a dude named Randy i talked to in Bismarck who noted: "why do millionaries take paycuts to become politicians?"
2002-01-17 09:44:40 AM
Wanna discuss alternative political parties?

Here's a topic: Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr.

Fb-Tigsnort: discuss

Just thought I'd toss you guys a bone on the whole commie pinko thing.
