I'm looking for photo editing software for a Mac.

Any other suggestions other than Photoshop Elements?

There are a few touch-ups I wanted to do but iPhoto didn't work.

I don't need anything super-duper, just using it for family photos.

Any suggestions???

Geez.

Looking to sign a purchase agreement on a place this week. The real estate agent I've been working through just now said that, in addition to her commission from the seller, there's a broker's fee that I'm expected to pay -- and, if for any reason the seller doesn't pay her commission, I'd have to pay that too. WTF?

As a buyer, I've never paid a fee to the broker, and only paid a commission to the realtor when I was the seller. There was no disclosure of any broker's fee until now, she just happened to mention it when we were discussing closing costs. I asked her to ask her manager if they would waive it, but she came back and said they won't.

I think I'm about to walk on this deal.

good grief, "let me go talk to my manager"? it sounds more like you are dealing with a used-car salesman than a realtor.

(don't get the undercoating, it's a scam.)

it's a buyer's market. tell her to sit and spin.

  2012-06-15 05:35:29 PM
I agree with p.
How in the ef does she expect to make a crap deal like that in this kind of market? Stupid broad. Tell her "Oh yeah, and if for some reason I don't want to pay my mortgage,,,you're gonna have to cover that." Then laugh and walk away.

Bertrand Russell's Teapot is a concept I have thoroughly considered. It uses as an analogy a teapot orbiting the sun. Since the teapot cannot be disproven to exist, one is expected to believe that it exists, whereas the prophecies cited by the Christian faith, each of which has either been fulfilled (Israel, Jesus, the Babylonian Captivity) or has yet to be disproven nor fulfilled (the book of Revelation), are extant facts, written within the Christian religious text called the Bible, for all to examine, consider, research, and translate to their pleasure. There are over five hundred direct and indirect prophecies apropos Jesus Christ in the Old Testament, many of which could not have been fulfilled on purpose by Jesus, such as the one in Daniel chapter nine. Furthermore, whilst children are often raised with religious or atheistic dogmas, and these inculcations profoundly influence a child's life, a person can, with the help of others and the opinions of others, break free from this and become a neutral scholar, in pursuit of the truth, irregardless of popularity or social standing.

Also, and related, is Occam's Razor, which is that the simpler theory is the more likely. It is used as an argument for atheism. However, that seems rather a paradox to me, explained as follows. A Christian or deist of any sort believes that a god or gods created the universe and all existence. This, in correct essence, in the implication of the Christian God by definition, ceases to be a mythological figure and becomes, instead, a force beyond physics, the cause behind the effect of the universe. I quite simply here postulate that a consciousness beyond all known existence so chose to generate this universe, the laws of physics including entropy (which the original force would have to be beyond- even a vacuum field suffers entropic disorder), the very abstract concept of nothingness, all thoughts and abstract concepts, and all else, because NO EFFECT CAN BE GREATER THAN A CAUSE AS DETERMINED BY THE LAWS OF PHYSICS. And if evolutionary inculcation of children does not occur, please do explain the Wikipedia page, school textbooks, school lesson plans, and the overall lack of explanation that it is still a theory.

Comparison with evolutionary viewpoint: Uncertainty about original generation of Big Bang singularity. The resultant explosion of the singularity, however it was triggered and by what (no inanimate natural object is capable of enacting upon itself or being beyond all physics insofar as it is within universal physics), caused superheated materials to scatter throughout the universe, then condense by gravity into forms by inexact processes, thereby stating that the singularity from the vacuum field had the proper data as regards all elemental transmutations. The earth, sun, and moon are each condensed celestial bodies. The moon is an offshoot of the earth and the earth compacted until it obtained a solid core. It underwent tremendous volcanic activity until landmasses solidified. There are several theories of how water came about, but none are clarified. Eventually, by diverse means, an atmosphere, magnetic field, weather patterns, and electrical charge had to occur to allow a lightning strike in a soupy, mineral rich water of unknown composition to cause RNA protomolecules of unknown origin to become living by unknown and unrepeated processes. From this humble RNA somehow developed DNA which mutated over billions of years into increasingly complex organisms which somehow survived the trauma of significant organ systems discrepancies. And just to frost the damn cake: Origin of water on earth, Evolution, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenesis, Creation myth... WHAT THE FARK? WHAT THE FARK? WHAT THE FARK? Wikipedia is supposed to be a perfectly neutral, logical, ENCYCLOPEDIA, yet it actively supports evolutionary theory over other origin theories?!! Just look at the articles cited- they all have a certain syntax to them. I took a deep breath, thought, 'What is shall be. I will view this neutrally.', and found no neutrality.

/Okay, I'm scared. Where's a neutral encyclopedia of all topics? My point right quick is obviously how complicated evolutionary theory is as compared with the Christian one. Evolutionary theory requires trillions upon trillions of exact factors for life to exist.

//Also, I would recommend Objectivist Answers.

Yes this is over from a thread. I'm not THAT random.

/Hey, PI, what refutations do you use for the prophecy? Prove it wrong and I'll be your toady for life and, of course, recant my beliefs.

I could use a toady for life. Except that they'd probably kill me to get out of the contract.

I wonder about the next few days. This flood was because of yesterdays rains, and it's supposed to rain there all day today. It's gonna go somewhere.
