About Barcode:
Previously Filthy McNasty's (for you Kent old-timers) and after that Screwy Louie's, the place is now called "Barcode." On the outside, it doesn't look like much, but on the inside is an absolutely fantastic dancefloor, nightclub, bar, and lounge. The DJ's are consistently good, and they've recently pulled acts from the likes of Paul Oakanfold, so they are certainly moving up in the world. If you don't like your music really goddamn loud, this isn't the place for you.
It's mostly attracts KSU students, so prepare for that- and they check everyone's IDs so don't try any shiat if you're too young, they'll remember your ass and it ruins things for the rest of us.
Music is good, beer is cheap, mixed drinks are priced fairly average, and they have an old school cigarette machine inside. They have a couple pool tables, but the place is usually packed so expect a bit of a wait to use them. It's a big enough joint where it's not uncomfortable when it's busy, and fights and other assholish-ness are dealt with quickly and harshly so you can be sure things are safe.
Parking is ample, the Record Courier office across the street is closed at night so you're allowed to park there as well, but like all places in Kent you should lock your doors just in case. No real dress code but don't be a schlub.
Their website is god-awful, though.
