She comes in colors everywhere 2004-06-03 05:11:25 PM
[irony]

/hates judge judy

// article has nothing to do with peeing or raining

LunaticFringe [TotalFark] 2004-06-03 05:11:51 PM
If by "peeing on her leg" you mean "letting some neighborhood kids play sports in their field which indirectly resulted in erosion causing some mud to get in Judge Judy's pool which she then paid $17,000 to get out".

/won't somebody please think of the children?

mykie 2004-06-03 05:14:01 PM

Don't spit on my cupcake and tell me it's frosting!

zabadu 2004-06-03 05:17:29 PM
Parents argued that the need for a place to play is more important than technicalities such as permits.

I'd say my need to bash all the windows out of your house is more important than that stupid penal code!

Eat More Possum [TotalFark] 2004-06-03 05:20:54 PM
It'd be nice if everyone has the attitude of a friend...she says there'll be time for grass when the kids grown up, and so her yard is the neighborhood playground. BUT, that is her choice, and Judge Judy chooses to have a pool.

mryoop789 [TotalFark] 2004-06-03 05:21:20 PM
the Sandses are basically telling children its OK to break the law if you have enough money to try to get what you want

Well, it's no lie.

ChewbaccaJones [TotalFark] 2004-06-03 05:21:49 PM
Maybe Judge Judy doesnt even understand that theres a
shortage of fields,

Maybe that whiny parent doesn't understand that $17,000
damage to another person's property outweighs your brat
kid's need to play a stupid farking lacrosse game.

...and lacrosse? Who the fark puts a lacrosse field in
their yard?

JokerFoo 2004-06-03 05:22:28 PM
I would not hit it.

Judge Judy suing neighbors for peeing on her leg and telling her it's raining

I still want to see that, even if the article has nothing to do with it. ;)

Jeffy Jeff 2004-06-03 05:24:20 PM
I like the headline.

Property damage is bad. Kids sports is good, but I think we'd all be mighty pissed if our neighbour did something that caused damage to our home or property, especially if it was done without a permit.

Fark the children.

MayoBoy 2004-06-03 05:25:14 PM
How did they spend 17,000 to clean mud out of a pool? I've seen freshly plastered pools (only filled for 3 days) fill with mud and not have any staining problems.

She's a lyin' ho.

Do you know how many silver spoons it takes to clean up a pool full of mud?

BRING ME PETER PAN!

Let's be honest: Who didn't see this coming?

dettigersnw22 2004-06-03 05:31:06 PM
Then the parents should sue Judge Judy when their kids become fat and lazy due to a lack of places to exercise. Then Judge Judy should sue for faulty parenting. Then the parents should sue Judge Judy for suing them on unconstitutional grounds.

/has the distinct feeling that Judge Judy could pay the 17,000 out of her pockets.

So which of the following is it that you know for sure?

Judge Judy has a 6*6 kiddy pool like you and you don't need any laborers to clean it OR
Judge Judy owns a dozen slaves and can get labor for free.

I mean fark! What if shes got one of them fancy 6 tiered pool / hot tub / pool house specials with diving board? What if the movement of land shifted the support of the pool and cracked something? Would you like it if someone destroyed your car. And then said, I can get you a car for $500. Here is your $500, I don't care that you were driving a $100,000 '04 Aston Martin, go get a '89 Honda.

Duh

erm well.. Judy is right.

-it hurt to say that

gitsh01 2004-06-03 05:37:39 PM
I hate judge judy. But doing work without a permit which damages another person's property is wrong. Trying to do a "won't anyone think of the children" cop-out is doubly wrong.

Teekno [TotalFark] 2004-06-03 05:40:34 PM
Yeah, the neighbors are in the wrong here. And shame on them for trying to guilt Judy into dealing with property damage to her home.

And it's not like the kids won't have a place to play lacrosse. Judy and her hubby are certainly rich -- and that means the neighbors are, too. They can afford to take the kids to someplace appropriate to play.

And I love the idea that Judy "doesnt even understand that theres a shortage of fields." There's a shortage of fields in the place they choose to live. Hell, move out to the country, get yourself a big-ass field. Build bleachers if you want.

LarryDan43 2004-06-03 05:40:44 PM
I wonder if she had the proper permits when she put in her pool?

SpinStopper [TotalFark] 2004-06-03 05:41:17 PM
zabadu beat me to it: "I'd say my need to bash all the windows out of your house is more important than that stupid penal code!"

/need to get a job so I can quit whining as a FarkLiter...

Alex Chilton 2004-06-03 05:41:36 PM
Turrable headline, I was hoping for a story about peeing, cuz I wanna piss on you.

Seriously though, $17k to clean mud from a pool? I think Judge Judy is pulling some shenanigans there.

Jeff_from_MD 2004-06-03 05:43:11 PM
hmmm, I almost feel sry for these parents now. Nice knowing yas....

SirLoin 2004-06-03 05:43:29 PM
So Judge Judy lives next door to the Lovejoys?

Luchis4daweak 2004-06-03 05:43:53 PM
People in Greenwich are so friggin HOY-DE-TOY-DEE. I was in Greenwich once and I needed directions to Grove Street because all the streets are winding and short. I asked passerby if he "could tell me the way to Grove Sreet?" He looked at me, said "Yes I could", and then walked away. WTF?

dettigersnw22 2004-06-03 05:44:23 PM

Teekno [TotalFark] 2004-06-03 05:45:46 PM
I wonder if she had the proper permits when she put in her pool?

Almost certainly. Pool construction is a pretty narrow field, and one involving activities (digging big holes and working with water lines) that, if not done properly, can cause major property damage. That means insurance for a job, and the underwriters will want to see permits before they let you move even a spoonful of dirt.

This lacrosse field may well be under construction by Jimmy the Lawn Guy.

909 2004-06-03 05:47:09 PM
I'd pee on her leg AND let Doug Llewellyn watch.

MayoBoy 2004-06-03 05:47:18 PM
Kanaric_Anakri

I've dealt with multi-hundred thousand dollar swimming pools for almost 20 years now. I've seen a few of them fill with mud and the most they've needed was a light acid wash which takes a couple of guys a few hours. Replace the filter media, flush the pipes etc. and you're talking a few more hours. Refill the pool; even if you truck the water in, it's not more than a couple of grand tops.

What if the movement of land shifted the support of the pool and cracked something?

Then I would guess that the article would have said that. However it said it cost 17,000 to clean the mud from the pool.

Duh yourself

dettigersnw22 2004-06-03 05:47:42 PM
Judge Judy looks like she should be playing the role of a smarmy, holier-than-thou mother on a Lifetime original movie.

drunkasbuk 2004-06-03 05:48:01 PM
If I were a pool cleaner you would have to pay me well more than 17 grand to spend more than 15 minutes in her home. She seems like the kind of person to biatch at you all day long while you work and then scream for half an hour because you left a muddy footprint on her driveway.

PawisBetlog 2004-06-03 05:48:15 PM
All you whiners saying 17k is too much don't know what collateral damage the mud may have done. Could have gotten into the filters and ruined the motors, the filters, the pipes, stained whatever she used for material (Plaster, fiberglass, yak hide), etc.

Fact is you don't know shiat and to assume she's being disingenuous just because she has more money than you is incredibly weak.

Oh and lets see how much that mom likes permits when her daughter is buried in the giant sinkhole that opens up due to erosion, while they're playing "lacrosse".

/Stupid spoiled biatch ass parents

I'm sorry but I lump all judges and lawyers......no I let's be fair;MOST judges and lawyers into the same pot:Sue Happy Know it alls. As far as I know you can't sue your nighbor because his yard erodes into yours. Wouldn't it be nicer if that happens to just go over and say "Hey neighbor, your yard spilled into mine. You wanna help me get it back onto your side of the property line? What ever happened to
the days when we all worked things out and got along? Too many legal experts in the world.

crazy_gaijin 2004-06-03 05:54:26 PM
Did anyone else miss that the headline was a (bizarre)metaphor besides me?

halfof33 2004-06-03 05:54:37 PM
Since when do you need a freaking permit to make a field?

I call my field a lawn.

I have a pool and a pond, and I think the pond would be good for you farkers.

/ nutin

manderx 2004-06-03 05:54:43 PM
i can't conceptualize how mud got in there in the first place. the lip of the pool should be built up just enough anyway to keep runoff from going into it. i say she was pissed off about having kids playing within eyesight and mudded the pool herself just to manufacture justification for biatching.

BlueDog 2004-06-03 05:55:23 PM
44andConservative

If it wasn't for all the farkin iceholes who throw their mudshiat all over the place, we wouldn't need so many legal experts.

lordargent 2004-06-03 05:55:27 PM
What kind of mud are we talking about.

Could be the light fresh rain sort of mud.

Could be the heavy slimy wash your car down a hill mudslide McDonalds shake thick kind of mud.

Spaceman Spliff 2004-06-03 05:57:13 PM
submitter,

if you're going to reference or paraphrase the outlaw josey wales, at least make sure it's applicable to the article.

/"we've got a saying where i come from too senator, 'don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.'"

44andConservative

I aggree with you there, but who's to say that she didn't contact her neighbor about the problem who then responded with "that's not my problem" or "so sue me"

I mean, they would've had to build that baseball field pretty damn close to jj if the dirt from it was being blown into her pool. I'd say they'd have to be pretty inconsiderate by doing that, so I could imagine them saying "fark you" if you raised a stink about it.

ShadowkahnCRX 2004-06-03 06:00:39 PM
How stupid. Another example of parents thinking their kids override the desires of everyone else on the planet. You have the right to have children but you do not have the right to impose them on others.

crazy_gaijin 2004-06-03 06:03:09 PM
halfof33
I'm sure you've been to a baseball field before. There's a lot of loose dirt. If wind picks up, a lot of it gets blown around. It wouldn't be too difficult for some of that dirt to blow in the direction of jj's pool. I don't think they're saying there was mud that somehow rolled into the pool, but rather, it was mud after it got to the pool. Just my guess, anyway.

mikey15 2004-06-03 06:04:58 PM
to everyone missing the humor in the headline
judy says stuff like that on her show (i hear)

John_Galt 2004-06-03 06:06:49 PM
Judge Judy sucks, she totally biased in her cases, and her courtroom treatment of law is based on a parallel reality.
